The 5 Best Breakfast Spots in Pearland

The 5 Best Breakfast Spots in Pearland
  • Affordable prices: With Pearland already being the booming city that it already is, their breakfast options should (ideally) be affordable for its residents to try out when they feel like going out for a quick bite!
  • Breakfast options galore: The ideal breakfast spot in Pearland shouldn’t just offer affordable prices - they should also offer a great variety on food choices, too!
We’re not looking for rare delicacies plucked from the mountains - just breakfast food that we can try out when we don’t feel like having the good ‘ol pancakes and coffee!
  • Certified breakfast flavor: Flavor is everything, especially when it comes to breakfast! That’s why we’re looking for breakfast spots in Pearland with delicious food - ideally with a lot more flavor than iHOP and Pancake House.

Pros

  • Healthy food options
  • Good variety on food and drinks
  • Low-calorie food available
  • Alcoholic beverages available

Cons

  • Some portions are too small

With plenty of locations scattered all over the United States, First Watch stands out from all the breakfast spots – especially in Pearland – when you consider the healthy food options that they have in store for those who want to try them out.

Right off the bat, First Watch’s menu offers a more healthy twist on breakfast food. They offer a healthier alternative to breakfast, and the flavor profile gives them a unique factor! We suggest trying out their AM Superfoods Bowl if you want something filling.

But if you want something more savory and filling at the same time, then you’ll be looking at trying out their Power Bowls! The Pesto Chicken Quinoa Bowl is filling, and the pesto sauce adds more flavor to the usually flavorless quinoa.

The only thing we don’t appreciate as much about First Watch is their serving portions, especially on their Healthier Side menu. Some only come with a piece of bread and some eggs, and the Avocado Toast – though delicious – is NOT filling enough.

Then again, First Watch also has mimosas and spiked drinks available for you too, which is a nice touch. The Mimosas are made with freshly squeezed orange juice, which makes them the ideal brunch drink that goes well with their Frittata Rustica.

Pros

  • Long operating hours
  • Build-a-breakfast
  • Good prices on food
  • Early morning specials for early birds

Cons

  • No drink options listed on the website

A good place to visit if you want a true-blue, southern-style breakfast in Pearland, we like how Busy Bee Cafe has plenty of (honestly delicious) food options to choose from, and all for a fraction of the price, too!

What makes Busy Bee Cafe unique compared to other breakfast spots in Pearland is their Build-A-Breakfast, which we like! It costs $10.99, and you can get anything you want in there – you can even substitute the meat for their Chicken Fried Steak!

Speaking of prices, we also have to commend Busy Bee Cafe for their prices as well – though it’s not iHOP levels cheap, the serving size of their food and the flavor more than makes up for the $15 you’ll be paying for their food – and that’s with taxes included.

We do have to mention that Busy Bee Cafe doesn’t have their drinks menu up on their website’s menu list – so if you’re visiting their website to research what kinds of coffee they have, then you’re out of luck on that end.

But when you consider their prices – and the relatively cheap early bird menu that you can get from Mondays to Fridays from 5 AM to 9 AM – the lack of drink options on their online menu is a minor inconvenience among all else.

Pros

  • Authentic country cooking
  • Delicious menu options
  • Cheap breakfast specials
  • Large serving sizes

Cons

  • Specials depend on the day

A specialty breakfast spot in Pearland that offers authentic southern cooking from the get-go, Kelley’s Country Cookin’ offers a family-owned, authentic Texan breakfast for those who have been craving it – especially since they have 6 branches in Texas!

From their name alone, Kelley’s Country Cookin’ specializes in southern cooking – and their foods’ serving sizes and flavor profiles are proof of that! We suggest trying out Kelley’s Grand Slam if you want a good variety of breakfast food on a huge plate.

The best part? They sell their food at a reasonable price! Admittedly, it’s a few dollars more expensive compared to other breakfast spots in Pearland – but it’s just $4 – $5 more, and it’s a bit more flavorful, especially with their specialties!

Speaking of their specialties, we did find a little problem with it – especially with their daily specials. Some of their items, you can only get on certain days. If you want value for money, visit them on Tuesdays for their Super Tuesdays for a supersized meal.

But if you ask us? The supersized meals on Tuesdays are a plate bigger compared to their meals, since Kelley’s Country Cookin’ is relatively large – and a single look at it will make you think that everything really IS bigger in Texas!

Pros

  • Good variety on food
  • “Lighter menu” available for diets
  • Okay prices
  • Kolaches available

Cons

  • Long wait time on weekends

What we like about Peña’s Donuts & Diner, you ask? Well – even if you count their claim-to-fame donuts and kolaches, you’ll still be left with tons of good breakfast options to choose from, whether you’re on a diet or not!

Whether you’re in the mood for a traditional breakfast or a more diet-focused one, Peña’s Donuts & Diner has options for you to choose from. Their variety is unlike anything that we’ve seen from other breakfast spots in Pearland – which is good!

For us? Their Brisket Kolaches are good, but if you want something more filling for your breakfast, then their Ultimate Southern Chicken should be your order. Their Keto Barbecue Scramble is also good for those on a diet!

Though we did like their food, their service is a bit on the slower side, especially on the weekends. On regular days, you can expect them to serve your food in as little as 3 minutes – but it will take them 15 minutes on the weekends, or during the lunch rush,

Their prices are relatively cheap though, which is a huge plus for us. It’s not a huge discount compared to other breakfast spots in Pearland, but we’ll take the $15 breakfast in this economy, thank you very much.

Pros

  • Seasonal drinks options
  • Good breakfast menu
  • Beignets are a taste of New Orleans
  • Nutrition guide on the website is perfect for weight watchers

Cons

  • Beignets availability vary per location

A taste of New Orleans in the middle of the Lone Star State, we like how PJ’s Coffee has specialty food and drinks on their menu – even going so far as offering limited-time drinks there, too!

Mardi Gras season is near as of the time of writing, and visiting them then means that you can order their seasonal drinks! All of them are good, but King Cake Cold Brew Espresso is a Mardi Gras in a cup – and the chilled ice cream is a nice topping, too!

PJ’s Coffee breakfast options are delicious, too! Their Sausage, Egg, Cheese on a Bagel is the complete standout. But if you’re looking for something sweet then their Beignets are a sweet taste of New Orleans, and are a delicious option you can try out.

But we do have to warn you that their Beignets aren’t always available on all of their stores and you’ll have to search if the store you’re going to has them. Thankfully, their Pearland branch has them so you can try it out for yourself, too!

Then again, PJ’s Coffee also has a diet-friendly option for you to try out (with the Egg Bites being the cream of the crop), plus their website also has a nutrition tab for you to check out if you’re counting your calories, as well!
