5 Best Deck Builders in Houston for a Backyard Upgrade
I’ve been talking to so many remodeling contractors lately that I already have plans for half the house. But the backyard kept making the strongest case for going first.
That meant finding the best deck builder in Houston who could handle more than a pretty sketch. I wanted something sturdy, useful, and built for heat, rain, and plenty of weekend grilling.
A good deck can make the whole yard feel like extra living space. So I narrowed things down to Houston builders worth calling before the next home project steals the budget.
How much does it cost to hire a deck builder in Houston?
Building a new deck in Houston generally costs $25 to $85 per square foot. This typically covers materials and professional installation.
Pressure-treated pine costs around $25 to $40 per square foot. A 300-square-foot deck may cost about $5,000 to $10,000.
Cedar or redwood runs around $35 to $50 per square foot. A 300-square-foot project can cost roughly $7,500 to $15,000.
Composite decking typically costs $45 to $90 per square foot. Expect around $12,000 to $20,000+ for a 300-square-foot deck.
Extras such as stairs, railings, lighting, and built-in seating can push the final price higher.
1. Texans Decks

Address: 3434 W Little York Rd
Contact: (281) 940-9292
Hours: Open 24 hours
Texans Decks caught my attention for their strong focus on Trex and other low-maintenance composite decking.
Their build approach leans practical, with reinforced framing and concrete footings designed for Houston conditions.
I like that they don’t stop at the deck itself. Pergolas, privacy features, lighting integration, and wood options make it easier to shape the whole backyard instead of piecing everything together later.
Their deck repair and replacement work is another plus if your outdoor space needs rescuing rather than rebuilding from scratch.
The 24-hour availability is handy, especially if your schedule refuses to behave.
The catch is that a fully custom deck can quickly become a bigger project than a simple backyard refresh. If you only need a small, basic platform, the broader design options may be more than you really need.

They did an amazing job with our deck!
They did an amazing job with our deck! It was a smaller project, but they were more than happy to customize to our needs, and the result was incredible. Very efficient work, but making sure everything is done to the highest quality, including ensuring the materials were perfect before installation. Highly recommend!

Great work, Samuel…
Samuel and his crew responded immediately and designed the deck based on the space available.
We were honored to have their time and expertise for a last-minute project prior to Mother’s Day.
They finished this setup in less than 10 hours.
Great work, Samuel…

2. Allied Outdoor Solutions

Address: 1557 W Sam Houston Pkwy N, #140
Contact: Toll-free: 1 (888) 212-9060, Houston Showroom: (832) 501-1268
Hours: Online service hours: Monday–Thursday 8 AM–7 PM; Friday 8 AM–5 PM; Saturday 8 AM–2 PM. Showroom hours: Monday–Friday 8 AM–5 PM; Saturday 9 AM–2 PM
Allied Outdoor Solutions feels like the choice for homeowners whose deck idea has already turned into a full backyard wish list.
Their Houston team handles patios, pool decks, shade structures, outdoor kitchens, and other larger outdoor-living projects.
I like that they have a local showroom where you can get a closer look at materials before committing. That’s especially useful when you’re juggling several finishes and trying not to turn Pinterest into a construction plan.
Their broader design-build setup can make coordinating a bigger makeover much simpler. If you need interior work like flooring in Houston, though, you’ll still need a separate indoor specialist.
The main drawback is focus. If you only want a straightforward wood or composite deck, a more deck-specialized contractor may be the better fit.

We are happy to have chosen Allied Outdoor Solutions to replace our wood deck with concrete.
We are happy to have chosen Allied Outdoor Solutions to replace our wood deck with concrete, add a sidewalk along the side of our house, and apply Carvestone to our existing pool deck and all new concrete surfaces. We had a very positive experience throughout the project from planning through execution.

Great job and would recommend using Allied Outdoor Solutions.
The service person arrived on time and was very professional. He took time to explain the reseal process and the specific work he was going to do. After the work was complete, he clearly explained how long we need to stay off the deck to allow it to dry.
Great job and would recommend using Allied Outdoor Solutions.

3. All Things Deck Company

Areas served: Houston
Contact: (713) 766-5269
Hours: By appointment
All Things Deck Company appealed to me because the name pretty much tells you where the focus is.
If your backyard project starts and ends with a deck, that kind of specialization can be refreshingly straightforward.
Their work centers on deck construction rather than a long menu of unrelated remodeling jobs. That makes them an easy company to consider when you want the project itself to stay fairly focused.
I’d still ask about material options, railing styles, permits, and cleanup before signing anything. Those details can make a big difference once a simple sketch turns into an actual construction schedule.
The trade-off is that a deck-focused company may not suit a full backyard overhaul. If you want landscaping, kitchens, or several outdoor features bundled together, a broader contractor could make more sense.
4. Custom Decks and Pergolas LLC

Areas served: Houston
Contact: (713) 482-9301; [email protected]
Hours: By appointment
Custom Deck & Pergola, LLC feels like a good fit if your backyard plans revolve around one thing: making the outdoor space far more usable.
With 20+ years in the business, they bring plenty of experience to custom deck and pergola projects.
I like that their designs are built around how people actually use their yards. Wood and composite decking give you some flexibility too, whether you want a classic look or something lower-maintenance.
Their focus on decks, pergolas, arbors, and pavilions keeps the service fairly specialized. That can be a plus if you’d rather avoid handing a simple outdoor project to a massive remodeling firm.
The trade-off is that they’re less suited to a full backyard overhaul involving pools, landscaping, or several different trades. For that, you may still need a broader remodeling contractor.

Hire them; you will not be sorry.
These wonderful guys took my dream of a Trex deck in a very awkward courtyard pool area and turned it into a relaxing “zen” space, perfectly installed. They were organized and honest, and we appreciated it so much after being ripped off during a first attempt. We had a glitch regarding the pool entrance, and it was fixed immediately and very creatively. I think it’s one of the prettiest features on the deck! Hire them; you will not be sorry.

Highly recommend.
Custom Decks and Pergolas did a fantastic job on our deck! I got a quote from Luke for the deck, and a few weeks later, he and his brother came out to build it. In just 3 days, they tore out the old deck and built the new one! Really impressed with these guys. They’re very friendly, courteous, and knowledgeable too. Highly recommend.

5. Luxurious Construction LLC

Address: 11010 Old Katy Rd
Contact: +1 281-901-2563
Hours: Daily 8 AM – 6 PM
Luxurious Construction LLC makes sense if your deck is only one piece of a much bigger home project.
Their team handles decks, patios, carpentry, additions, and full renovations, so you won’t necessarily need to juggle several contractors.
I like that their services can connect indoor and outdoor upgrades under one roof. That’s handy if a simple deck plan has somehow evolved into a full-blown backyard makeover.
Their luxury-home focus gives them a natural fit for more detailed residential work. They’re open daily too, which makes the initial planning stage a bit easier to work around.
The main trade-off is specialization. If you only want a straightforward deck and prefer a contractor focused almost entirely on decking, a more niche builder may suit you better.

The work they did on the outdoor upper deck was fine craftsmanship and done in under 4 days.
A+ experience w/Mr. Giovani and Handyman Jesse at Luxurious Construction LLC
Jesse completed the Installation of a heavy and somewhat complicated Kohler Medicine cabinet, mounted a flat-screen TV, then came back the next day at no additional charge to hang a print that had been unhappily planted on the floor for several months. Would highly recommend for small handyman jobs up to indoor/outdoor renovations/builds – the work they did on the outdoor upper deck was fine craftsmanship and done in under 4 days.

Highly recommend Luxurious Construction for any of your remodel needs.
Highly recommend Luxurious Construction for any of your remodel needs. They’re veteran friendly who provided us with a great discount, on top of quoting us a great price for the work we wanted done. Giovanni and his team were very professional while focusing on what we wanted done and not trying to sell us on doing more than we needed. All the while, their team was very flexible as we added additional work to be done on our remodel as we saw their quality work progress through the project. Again, highly recommend.
