5 Best Deck Repair Services in Houston for a Safer, Better-Looking Deck

best-deck-repair-houston

  • Expertise & Specialization – We favored deck specialists over jack-of-all-trades crews. Structural repairs need more than a toolbox and good intentions.

  • Scope of Services – We checked whether they handle quick board swaps, railing fixes, structural work, and bigger material upgrades.

  • Local Experience – Houston weather isn’t gentle on wood. We looked for contractors who know how heat, rain, and humidity affect decks here.

  • Service Flexibility – Free estimates and broad service areas earned extra points. They make planning repairs a lot less of a chore.

I’ve worked with enough remodeling contractors to know that a wobbly railing is rarely just a wobbly railing. Houston heat, humidity, and rain have a way of turning small deck problems into expensive ones fast.

A solid contractor should understand local weather, spot structural issues early, and leave the space safer than they found it.

That’s why I looked into the best deck repair in Houston to narrow the field. These companies handle everything from worn boards and loose rails to bigger structural repairs.

How much does a deck repair cost in Houston?

Deck repair in Houston typically costs around $890 to $3,600. The final price depends on the damage, deck size, and materials.

Minor fixes like loose boards, screws, or balusters may cost $150 to $500. Moderate structural repairs, including damaged joists or significant rot, can run $900 to $4,100.

Sanding, staining, and sealing usually cost $2 to $5 per square foot. If the deck is beyond repair, a full replacement can start at $8,000+, depending on the materials chosen.

1. Texans Decks

texans-decks

Website

Address: 3434 West Little York Road

Contact: (281) 940-9292

Hours: Daily, 7 AM – 7 PM

Texans Decks caught my eye because they’re clearly more deck-focused than your average general handyman crew.

They handle repairs, replacements, composite upgrades, and structural work, so there’s room to fix what’s failing without automatically starting from scratch.

Their Trex and composite experience is a real plus in Houston, where rain and humidity aren’t exactly kind to wood.

I like that they deal with framing, joists, railings, steps, and footings instead of treating every problem like a cosmetic patch.

They can tackle the extras too, including pergolas and deck lighting. That makes them handy if your repair project starts turning into a bigger backyard refresh.

The catch is that their marketing leans heavily toward composite upgrades and larger deck projects. If you only need one or two boards replaced, I’d confirm the scope and price before booking.

Pros

  • Strong focus on deck repair and replacement
  • Experienced with Trex and composite decking
  • Handles structural issues like joists, framing, and railings
  • Can add pergolas and deck lighting
  • Open daily from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM

Cons

  • Marketing leans heavily toward composite upgrades and larger projects
  • Small, basic wood repairs may be worth pricing out first

Thank you, Samuel and your helpers, for your superior work ethic

Highly recommend Texans Decks. They did a great job repairing my warped composite deck by replacing the damaged foundation and using screws on placing the slats back followed by pressure washing. It’s so nice and safe now.Thank you, Samuel and your helpers, for your superior work ethics.

2. Mr. Handyman of NW Houston and Jersey Village

Website

Address: 10500 Northwest Fwy, Ste 112

Contact: (281) 942-6733

Hours: Open 24/7

Mr. Handyman of NW Houston and Jersey Village makes sense if your deck repair isn’t the only thing misbehaving around the house.

Their technicians handle decks alongside doors, drywall, fences, and general maintenance, which can save you from juggling several contractors.

I like that they back their work with the Neighborly Done Right Promise and say their technicians average around 10 years of hands-on experience.

They can tackle loose boards, structural repairs, staining, and other patio or deck issues without treating every job like a full rebuild.

They’re insured too, and the 24/7 listing gives you plenty of flexibility when arranging service. That combination makes them a practical pick for homeowners who value convenience as much as repair work.

The trade-off is specialization. For a highly customized rebuild or complex deck design, I’d still compare them with a dedicated deck contractor.

Pros

  • Handles deck repairs plus other household fixes
  • Technicians reportedly average around 10 years of hands-on experience
  • Work is backed by the Neighborly Done Right Promise
  • Insured service
  • Listed as open 24/7
  • Convenient for bundling multiple repair jobs

Cons

  • General handyman service rather than a deck-only specialist

He did a masterful job

The handyman was on time and very polite.   I was very surprised to know that when you call them, you need to make certain that you have the materials for them to do the job.    I was also negligent in Not finding out that I would need to provide the materials to get the job done.   My advice is make the call, get all your questions answered and get the job done. Luckily I had materials for him to complete the job and it worked out very well. He did a masterful job.

He was quick and efficient and did a great job

Our tech Marco was great! He was quick and efficient and did a great job. Booking the appointment was super easy and they sent out a confirmation email right away and a reminder text the day before.

3. All Things Deck Company

Website

Area served: Houston plus surrounding areas

Contact: (713) 766-5269

Hours: By appointment

All Things Deck Company feels like a good fit when your deck needs more than a cosmetic touch-up. They handle repairs, railings, stairs, staining, and full builds, so they can tackle both worn-out sections and bigger upgrades.

I like that they’re clearly deck-focused rather than trying to be everything to everyone.

Their work covers wood, composite, Trex, metal, and pool decks, which gives you plenty of options if you’re replacing damaged materials.

Free estimates make it easier to compare the repair bill before committing. They serve Houston and several surrounding communities, which is handy if you’re outside the city center.

The drawback is that repair pricing isn’t published upfront. If your problem is unusually structural or specialized, I’d use the estimate to confirm exactly what they’ll repair and how.

Pros

  • Deck-focused contractor with repair and full-build experience
  • Works with wood, composite, Trex, and metal decking
  • Handles railings, stairs, staining, and pool decks
  • Free estimates
  • Serves Houston and surrounding communities

Cons

  • Repair pricing isn’t published upfront

4. Custom Decks and Pergolas LLC

custom-decks-and-pergolas-llc

Website

Area served: Greater Houston

Contact: (713) 482-9301

Hours: By appointment

Custom Decks & Pergola, LLC has been working around Greater Houston for more than 20 years, and that kind of local mileage counts.

They focus on decks, pergolas, and outdoor structures, so they’re not coming at the job like a general handyman with a spare afternoon.

I like that they work with both wood and composite decking and can rebuild aging outdoor spaces when patchwork stops making sense.

Their free, no-obligation estimates are useful too, especially when you’re deciding whether to repair or replace.

They serve multiple Houston-area communities, which gives them a broad local footprint. For bigger deck overhauls, that custom-build experience can be a real advantage.

The catch is that their current portfolio leans more toward full builds and rebuilds than tiny standalone repairs. If you only need a few boards fixed, I’d confirm they take on smaller jobs first.

Pros

  • 20+ years of experience around Greater Houston
  • Focuses on decks, pergolas, and outdoor structures
  • Works with both wood and composite decking
  • Handles larger rebuilds and custom deck projects
  • Offers free, no-obligation estimates
  • Serves multiple Houston-area communities

Cons

  • Leans more toward full builds and rebuilds than minor repairs
  • Small patch jobs may need to be confirmed before booking

5. Houston Deck and Fence

houston-deck-and-fence

Website

Address: 22635 Indian Ridge Dr, Katy

Contact: (832) 960-3475 or (281) 545-7740 for evaluations

Hours: Mon to Sat, 7 AM – 7 PM

Houston Deck and Fence has more than 20 years of experience in the Houston area, which gives them a pretty solid read on what local weather does to wood.

They handle deck repairs, rebuilding, railings, stairs, and structural fixes, so the work goes beyond swapping out one ugly board.

I like that they offer free deck evaluations before pushing you toward replacement. That makes it easier to figure out whether your deck needs a sensible repair or a much bigger intervention.

Their local experience is another plus when choosing materials and maintenance for Houston heat, rain, and humidity.

Warranty coverage is available too, though the exact terms can vary by project.

The downside is that repair pricing isn’t publicly available. And since they’re based in Katy, customers farther into central Houston should confirm service availability for their area.

Pros

  • 20+ years of Houston-area experience
  • Handles structural repairs, railings, stairs, and rebuilding
  • Offers free deck evaluations
  • Familiar with Houston heat, rain, and humidity
  • Warranty coverage available on qualifying work

Cons

  • Repair pricing isn’t publicly available
  • Katy-based location may be less convenient for some central Houston customers

I highly recommend this company

Lon was absolutely amazing. I had several companies come to give me an estimate to fix the issue I was having after the freeze. They are very responsive and have very fair pricing. I highly recommend this company.
