We found the 5 best HVAC contractors in Houston!

We found the 5 best HVAC contractors in Houston!

When the temperatures reach 100 degrees, you don’t want to be sweating your butt off in your own home, nor do you want to be freezing either.

That’s why it’s important to have a reliable HVAC system in place. But with so many contractors to choose from, how do you know who to trust?

We’ve used the services of several HVAC companies and put together a list of the ones we liked best!

Our Criteria:

Experience: We considered experience because a contractor with the proper qualifications and training can help ensure the job is done correctly and efficiently.

We looked for experienced professionals who were well-versed in all aspects of HVAC. We also ensured that the HVAC contractors we contacted were licensed, certified, and insured.
Warranty: We looked into whether the HVAC contractors and their companies offered warranties to ensure that any repairs and installation services were covered in the event of a malfunction or breakdown.

For us, a good warranty should be clearly stated in writing and include details such as what parts are covered, how long the extended coverage lasts, and what type of service is provided if there is a problem.
Financing Options: We looked for HVAC contractors that offered special financing promotions or discounts to make their services more affordable. We could keep our homes comfortable without breaking the bank.
Customer Service: Customer service was one of our criteria because the quality of customer service can set the tone for the entire customer experience and make or break the relationship between a contractor and their client. So we took into consideration the customer interactions with different HVAC contractors.

If you’re looking for a reliable HVAC contractor in Houston, Cool-It Air Conditioning and Heating is the way to go! One of our team members recently had them do an installation at her home and had nothing but positive things to say about their expert level of experience.

From start to finish, they provided timely and professional service that met all her needs. She liked that the technicians arrived promptly and were knowledgeable when it came to explaining all the options she had available for her HVAC setup.

Furthermore, from the initial phone call to the follow-up after the service was completed, she thought their staff was friendly, courteous, and always attentive to her needs. They went above and beyond to make sure that everything was taken care of to her satisfaction.

They kept us informed of all the details, so she never felt out of the loop. She also liked that their HVAC systems came with full factory warranty—but noted that they didn’t offer an extended one.

She also mentioned to us that they had great financing options that allowed her to get everything installed without breaking the bank. However, she did need to wait 48 hours before she could discover if she was approved for their financing program with GreenSky.

Pros

  • Quick HVAC diagnosis
  • Strong warranty coverage
  • Reasonable financing options

Cons

  • Days to get an appointment

We’ve been told that All Star A/C & Heating Services is a great company to work with when it comes to HVAC contractors. Not only do their technicians have years of experience, but they also offer warranty coverage and financing options, and ongoing maintenance plans.

One of our team members used their services recently for an HVAC system repair. For starters, she noted the level of expertise her HVAC contractor had—he diagnosed and repaired her HVAC unit quickly without any fuss.

The customer service was top-notch too! All Star’s customer service team provided prompt and friendly assistance when she first called.

One thing she didn’t like, though, was the wait time – it took a few days to get an appointment and an HVAC contractor out to her home.

Despite this, she thought it was great that All Star issued warranty coverage for their services. Having a warranty gave her peace of mind knowing that any repair work she needed to be done would be at no extra cost.

Pros

  • Smooth and efficient HVAC installation
  • Standard warranty
  • Financing options available

Cons

  • Expensive

We hired Lee Thompson Co. to install a new HVAC system at one of our office buildings recently, and we must say, we had a great experience!

First and foremost, the level of experience that the contractors possessed was quite impressive. We noted the thoroughness with which they analyzed our office building’s needs and determined which heating and cooling solutions would be best for us.

Moreover, the installation process was smooth and efficient. We could tell that their contractors definitely knew what they were doing.

In terms of warranty, we liked that Lee Thompson Co. offered a standard warranty that gave us peace of mind knowing that any issues that arose would be promptly addressed.

Additionally, we thought it was great that they had many financing options. We think that it’s always nice to have options when it comes to paying for such a significant investment, and Lee Thompson Co. definitely delivered in that regard.

As for customer service, we took note of the kindness and professionalism of the employees we interacted with. They were always willing to answer our questions, and we felt like they had our best interests in mind.

However, if we had to think of something that we didn’t like about the company, it would be that their prices were a bit higher than some of the other options we considered.

Pros

  • No interest financing payments
  • Warranty on parts and labor
  • Pleasant customer service

Cons

  • Hit-and-miss communication
  • Delayed HVAC system repair jobs

John Moore Services is the go-to HVAC contractor for many we talked to, and it’s easy to see why. From their top-notch customer service to their competitive pricing and warranties, they claim to have everything you need to keep your home comfortable all year round.

We liked how they were clear and upfront about their financing options of no payments for 12 months or pesky interest. We thought this was great because it’s perfect for those who are trying to manage a budget.

On top of this, they have a warranty on parts and labor, so their clients can rest easy knowing their investment in an HVAC system repair is protected.

We also noted the pleasant customer service interactions between the HVAC contractors at John Moore Services and their clients. From what we could tell, the contractors did their best to answer any questions quickly and accurately!

Unfortunately, there was one issue that we think could cause some frustration. We didn’t like that most of their HVAC system repairs jobs took significantly longer than the quoted time.

Also, we observed that the communication between the HVAC contractors and their clients was unreliable. They often didn’t get back to clients until after a day or so from the initial call.

Pros

  • Knowledgeable and helpful staff
  • Clean and professional
  • Warranty on new systems
  • Financing options available

Cons

  • Arrived late
  • High price estimates

One of our team members worked with Air Tech of Houston to have a new HVAC system installed in their home.

The first thing he noticed was how friendly and professional the staff was. He spoke with several different people over the phone and in person, and they were all very knowledgeable and helpful.

He liked that they took the time to answer all of his questions and explain the different options available to him. He noted that they also offered a ten-year part & labor guarantee.

But he thought that the initial estimate that he received over the phone was a bit high for an HVAC installation.

He also didn’t like that the installation started a few hours later than he was told it would, but the technicians were very apologetic and explained that they were running behind due to a previous emergency call.

Regardless of this, once the HVAC contractors arrived, the installation process went by quickly. He thought the HVAC contractor did a great job at explaining what they were doing every step of the way.

What he really liked the most, though, was that the HVAC workers cleaned up after themselves and made sure that everything was working properly before they left.
