Pros
- Easy online process
- Buys any car, no matter the condition
- Same-day pick up and cash
- Serves from location – 50 miles of Houston
Cons
- Not a lot of online presence
Looking to scrap your BMW or other, more exotic Japanese cars? Then JunkBaseTX should be your next go-to place. And the best part is, you can get your cash on the spot, the day you sell your car, too!
We really liked their online portal, which is easily accessible and allows you to get your quote on time. But if you don’t have the time to wait for them to reply through your email, too! You can call them, and get a quote on the spot.
They offer relatively competitive prices (read: prepare to haggle a bit, especially if you know your car’s value) for their quotes, and they can pick up your car along with paying you the corresponding price all within 24 hours of your purchase!
The only thing we don’t like as much about JunkBaseTX is their lack of an online presence, which makes them difficult to gauge out when you’re solely using online searches for a junkyard in Houston you can trust.
Then again, their in-person service more than makes up for it – especially when you consider that they can serve pretty much anywhere in Houston. Granted, so long as you’re within 50 miles of their location, but that’s still a pretty wide area!

Pros
- Spare parts inventory changes daily
- Self-service saves you a lot of money
- They can buy your car for you
- Fast quotes and 23-hour vehicle pick-up
Cons
- Warranties can only be used twice
If you’re looking for a junkyard in Houston that can buy your car for you, along with providing you a source of good, reliable spare parts for your next project car, then you should definitely give Houston Auto Recyclers a visit.
Like other junkyards in Houston, Houston Auto Recyclers can buy your car for you. Their online portal allows you to input your car’s details directly, and they’ll provide a quote for you, too. Be quick though, as the quote only lasts for 24 hours!
However, what makes them unique compared to other junkyards is the fact that you can buy spare parts for them! Their online inventory refreshes daily and they have lots of spare parts available, so long as you’re willing to pay the corresponding price.
And it’s not just for old Toyota Camrys or old American classics, either! If you’re thorough, they might have just the spare part you need for your current set of wheels – and you can either get it delivered or search for it yourself in their huge, 34-acre lot!
However, we do have to warn you that at the end of the day, they’re still spares and are still bound to break. And yes, they do offer a 90-day warranty on engines and transmissions, but you can only use it twice, so choose wisely!
Then again, the sheer convenience Houston Auto Recyclers provides more than makes up for it – and their fast quote times and a 24-hour pickup time is proof of that. And their knowledgeable staff are always more than happy to help you out, too!

Pros
- Parts can be requested
- Offers come instantly
- You can be notified of new inventory stock
- Easy online form
Cons
- Little inventory
Branding themselves as the #1 junkyard in Houston, we like how Sam’s Auto Salvage provides astounding service – not just with their request system, but also with their relatively easy quotation system.
Yes, unlike other junkyards in Houston, Sam’s Auto Salvage has an online form where you can request the part that you’re looking for, and they can bring out the part for you if they have it in stock!
Their convenience doesn’t end there, either! The online forms are relatively easy to fill out, and you can get the results pretty quickly, too – especially if you’re getting a quote to sell your car!
However, though their online forms are convenient, their spare parts catalog can be limited compared to other junkyards in Houston.
As of the time of writing, they only have one 2001 Chevy Impala in their inventory – but you can still request a part for other cars, so long as you have the VIN and the exact part you need.
Then again, they make up for this inconvenience by being relatively easy to deal with. You can get an offer to sell your car in an instant, so long as you can provide accurate information on their online form.

Pros
- 24/7 services
- The website is available in both English and Spanish
- Scrap car purchases
- Tows anywhere within 70 miles of Houston
Cons
- Lack of online services/presence
With their wide service area and a desire to cater to Houston locals, W&M Junk Cars offer great convenience compared to other junkyards in Houston out there – especially when you consider that they can do all of that anytime with their 24/7 service!
Before contacting W&M Junk Cars though, we have to give you a warning – they do have a website, but everything in there is their list of services, their mobile number, and that’s it. If you want their service, then you will NEED to call them.
Then again, calling them means that you’ll get their excellent services faster – and since they can tow your car from anywhere in Houston so long as you’re within 70 miles, making them far more convenient compared to other junkyards in Houston!
W&M Junk Cars can also buy your cars for you, and they can buy anything from running to totalled cars. And they can give you a reasonable quote for it, too! The offers are guaranteed, meaning that you either get it or don’t – but their offers are relatively okay.
And even though it’s not that big of a deal for some, we appreciate how you can switch the language on W&M Junk Cars’ website from Spanish to English, and vice-versa – and when you consider that 35% of Houstonians speak Spanish, it’s a nice touch.

Pros
- Cheap spare parts prices
- Great parts inventory system
- Multiple car quotes available
- Year. make, model can be input if you don’t know your VIN
Cons
- Some items on the website is not on their brick-and-mortar
Although Pick Your Part has 3 branches all over Houston, we’ll be putting our focus more on their Northville branch for this review – and don’t let the ratings fool you! The service they provide is better than expected!
The first thing you’ll notice is how they have lots of spare parts listed on their website. There’s a lot, in fact, that you can search for the parts that you need and reserve for your visit!
You might notice that the parts aren’t for the same car that you have – for example, searching for an A/C unit for a 2014 GMC Savanna 3500 will give you results for a 2005 Chevrolet minivan, but it’s still the same unit, and it’s still compatible with the Savanna.
Therein though lies the problem with Pick Your Part – some parts that are listed on their website are not available on their brick-and-mortar. The A/C unit that we mentioned earlier is only available in their Northville and Wallisville – and nowhere else.
Then again, you can still get great quotes from them if you plan to sell your car – and it’s alright if you forgot your VIN since you can input your car’s year, make, and model and you’re good to go! Plus, you can get quotes for multiple cars, too!
