At a surface level, Spotlight Karaoke ticks all the boxes for the ideal karaoke in Houston – convenient location, good song options to choose from, and good food to boot! 

We really like how easy Spotlight Karaoke is to spot compared to other karaoke in Houston! They’re only a couple of blocks away from The Galeria Mall, but they take that convenient location to the next level by offering a mobile karaoke service, too! 

Their mobile karaoke costs $500 and is good for 3 hours, and they can bring it to anywhere your party is located. The price might look steep – but the quality of their service more than makes up for it.

We also have to commend Spotlight Karaoke’s song list, too! They have the typical song list you can expect from a karaoke, but if a song you like isn’t on the list, then you can request one through their website on your phone.

The only thing we have to point out about Spotlight Karaoke is their lack of food options. Their Oh My Gogi is delicious and unique thanks to its Korean-Mexican taste, but there’s nothing much to write about when it comes to their food.

But then again, Spotlight Karaoke makes up for their lackluster food menu with their amazing drinks list. They have both alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages available, but our top recommendation is their Long Island Iced Tea!

2.) Neway

Located right at the heart of Houston’s Chinatown, Neway’s presents a different take on karaoke bars in Houston by giving you access to their amazing rooms for as little as $30 per hour!

Honestly? The $30 Missouri Room is the best of the bunch for us! You can spend more for larger rooms if you have a bigger party, but the Missouri room’s overall ambiance is perfect – and the blue roof and the chandelier is a nice touch for us, too.

We also have to give props to Neway’s food and drink options, too! Their food selections are top-notch, and we like the variety on their drink menu. Neway specializes in Chinese food, but there are also some left-field Eastern Asian dishes in there as well.

For us, getting their Pan-Fried Dumplings with their House Sake will make sure you’re in for a great time. But if you want something more filling and less alcoholic, then their Chinese Sausage Fried Rice goes well with their Mexican Coke.

But even if Neway’s food menu is great, some of the menu items are seasonal. So if you visited them one time and liked their Steamed Lobster, you might not be able to get it the next time you visit them.

Then again, if the food item you want is on their menu you can order them online since Neway is partnered with DoorDash and Uber Eats!

One of the more established karaoke bars in Houston, Karaoke Houston Cafe & Bar stands out from the rest of their competitors by providing great events both on their brick and mortar and for party events, too! 

Now, we have to commend Karaoke Houston Cafe & Bar for their event list – they have different events for every day they’re open! For example, they currently have Karaoke Tuesdays and Steak and Karaoke Wednesdays.

You can also rent out Karaoke Houston Cafe & Bar for your parties too, which can be a great way to liven them up. They offer everything from Karaoke rental, DJ services, and even Photobooth Rental, making them a one-stop-shop for party rentals.

But if there’s something we don’t quite like as much about Karaoke Houston Cafe & Bar, it’s that their menu depends solely on the ongoing event. Yes, the steaks are a good cut, but the food on other nights can be lackluster at best.

What they lack in food options though, they make up for in convenience! Karaoke Houston Cafe & Bar’s online form is easy to fill out and they respond really quickly – and you can text them 24/7, too! 

4.) Christian’s Tailgate Bar & Grill

With a great location and even better burgers to boot, Christian’s Tailgate Bar & Grill impressed us by being an amazing restaurant first and an open-style karaoke bar in Houston second!

Christian’s Tailgate Bar & Grill’s tried-and-tested burgers are great, and it’s worthy of being their bread and butter. We tried their Country Fried Bacon Burger with a side of Heart Attack Fries, and the flavor profile is worth the cholesterol for us! 

The best part? They’re not as expensive as we expected them to be! The Burger costs $16 – and for a ⅓ lb. burger, that’s a steal! The Fries will set you back $14 which is cheap when you see the serving size.

But even if their food is good, Christian’s Tailgate Bar & Grill is more like an open-mic karaoke compared to a KTV bar where you can reserve a room and sing to your heart’s content, making them less of a karaoke bar and more of a bar with a karaoke machine.

That said, you’ll be a fan of Christian’s Tailgate Bar & Grill if you’re a fan of football since they have regular viewing parties on the weekends when there are playoffs – and since they’re in a good location in Midtown, you won’t have to struggle to find them!

A karaoke spot in Houston that lives up to its name, Happy Zone KTV is one of our go-to places if we’re looking for a great time thanks to their affordable places and great rooms – especially now that they’ve revamped their style!

Happy Zone KTV’s new style, with their blue, ambient lighting and sheer white walls, really gives them a different ambiance as compared to other karaokes in Houston. The decor is on the minimalist side, but it suits the place well.

But if you’re thinking that renting their new style room costs a lot of money – then think again, since their room rental prices are cheaper than you think. The smallest room for a party of 4 costs $20, and the biggest room for a party of 25 will set you back $50!

The price will go up if you’re setting up a room for Party Combination with beverages and drinks included, but the price will pay for itself since their drinks are more expensive compared to other karaoke bars in Houston.

What we don’t like as much about Happy Zone KTV is the fact that they don’t offer any food options – they only have beverages on tap. The drinks are good, and we recommend their Party Combination for that, but the lack of food put us off a bit.
