We “Putt” Our Skills to the Test at Houston’s 5 Best Mini Golf Courses
My dad was a big golfer who practiced his putts everyday in our garage. I’d join him, and even though I was terrible, he patiently taught me the basics hoping I’d go pro one day. I became skilled enough for him to bring me to my first mini golf course at age 9.
I didn’t become a pro golfer (Sorry, Dad!) but I still go to a mini golf course every now and then. Plus, Houston has some of the most fun and unique mini golf courses in Texas!
Now, I want to share the best mini golf courses in Houston where you can have a great time. Whether you’re an avid fan or just looking for fun, these places will definitely make you love golf. So grab your putter, and let’s explore the best mini golf spots in the city!
1. Puttery

Location: 1818 Washington Ave, Ste 180, Houston, TX
Contact: (346) 406-1300
Business hours:
- Monday: 2:00 PM to 10:00 PM
- Tuesday to Thursday: 2:00 PM to 11:00 PM
- Friday & Saturday: 12 :00 PM to 1:00 AM
- Sunday: 11:00 AM to 10:00 PM
Puttery Houston is an absolute blast for anyone who loves mini golf and a good time. One of the best things about this place is its location–Washington Avenue!
It has three beautifully designed and creative courses that suit all skill levels, so there’s plenty of fun for everyone here!
This place has three bars that serve refreshing non-alcoholic and alcoholic drinks, as well as classic American dishes with some international cuisine. The brunch menu is particularly awesome—you can’t go wrong with Mimosas and Bloody Marys after all!
With prices set at $15 for unlimited play before 5 pm and $20 after, we think they offer a good deal. Drinks start at $7 while food such as pizzas and shareable snacks range from $15 to $30.
One minor hiccup–you might have to wait to get in during peak hours. But the staff is friendly and they do their best to accommodate everyone.
Also, while all ages are welcome to play, a 21 and up age restriction is enforced on some days, so be sure to double-check before heading there with kids.
Pro Tip: Puttery has multiple purchase areas if you want to play mini golf so if the line is long near the entrance, just head up to the next floor. |
2. Puttshack – Houston

Website: https://www.puttshack.com/locations/houston
Location: The Highlight at Houston Center, 1200 McKinney St Suite 100 & 300, Houston, TX
Contact: (346) 509-7888
Business hours:
- Monday to Thursday: 11:00 AM to 11:00 PM
- Friday & Saturday: 11:00 AM to 12:00 AM
- Sunday: 11:00 AM to 10:00 PM
If you’re up for an unforgettable outing, Puttshack Houston is the place to be.
Located at The Highlight at Houston Center, Puttshack offers a unique twist on mini golf as the world’s first tech-infused mini golf experience. They use a proprietary Trackaball technology wherein the balls keep track of every stroke and hazard, so players don’t need to keep score.
This spot also combines mini golf with a fantastic dining and drinking experience. From the food menu, our favorites include the Korean BBQ Bao Buns and the Pepperoni Buzz flatbread. Customers can also enjoy the performance of live DJs while sipping on cocktails and having a round of putt putt.
But what we love about Puttshack is the affordable pricing—$14 for adults and young adults, and $9 for kids under 12 (per player and course). Do mind though that there’s an age policy if you’re bringing kids under the age of 18, so if you’re bringing in little ones, make sure it’s before 8:00 PM.
Lastly, if there’s one thing you need to watch out for, it’s the tech-related issues of their system that could really dampen the whole experience.
Pro Tip: If you’re visiting between Monday and Thursday, you can get a discount on your second game if you book online. |
3. Holey Moley Golf Club Houston

Location: 3839 Weslayan St #101, Houston, TX (in Regal Edwards Greenway Grand Palace)
Contact: (346) 971-5567
Business hours:
- Monday to Thursday: 12:00 PM to 11:00 PM
- Friday: 12:00 PM to 12:00 AM
- Saturday: 10:00 AM to 12:00 AM
- Sunday: 10:00 AM to 11:00 PM
Holey Moley Golf Club is a haven for those who love mini golf and singing! It offers a blend of themed mini golf, karaoke, and a lively atmosphere that’s perfect for a casual outing with friends or family.
The courses are fun with varying levels of difficulty. The space on the course may be a little tight, but they didn’t scrimp on the design! Expect funny little oddities here and there throughout the course.
They also have a bar and a menu of snacks and drinks served in quirky glasses and bowls that will make you say “Holey moley!” for sure (to give you an idea, one of their popular drinks is served in a miniature bathtub).
The prices to play are pretty reasonable and similar to other mini golf courses in Houston, but they do have bundles and discounts for those who book online, so we suggest checking their website regularly for those offers.
One minor downside is that the space can get a bit crowded, especially on weekends, which might mean some waiting for a turn on the course. There’s also an age restriction being implemented in this venue, so leave the young ones at home if you’re going here in the evening.
Pro Tip: Some holes may require some physical effort (i.e. a bit of climbing) so for the ladies, make sure to wear something comfortable when you drop by! |
4. Popstroke

Website: https://popstroke.com/venues/houston-katy/
Location: 23110 Grand Cir Blvd, Katy, TX 77449 (in Katy Grand)
Contact: (281) 715-0480
Business hours:
- Monday to Wednesday: 10 :00 AM to 11:00 PM
- Thursday to Saturday: 10:00 AM to 12:00 AM
- Sunday: 10:00 AM to 11:00 PM
For those who don’t mind driving to the suburbs for some mini golf, PopStroke in Katy is worth checking out. It has two 18-hole courses that are outdoors, so you’ll get the feel of being on an actual golf course.
A flat rate is paid upon arrival and that covers both courses for the whole day. This means you can come back and play as many rounds as you want without paying again (a really nice touch, if you ask us).
When it comes to food, PopStroke has a menu full of American favorites. From wings and mozzarella sticks to burgers and wraps, it’s like the typical American diner. They also have a great ice cream selection and can even deliver drinks to you while you play.
If you get tired from playing mini golf, there are other games like table tennis, cornhole, and foosball that you can play at no additional cost.
For us, the only downside is the price in order to play. At $30, it might be a bit steep if you only plan to play one course, or if you’re on a tight budget.
Pro Tip: Since the course is out in the sun, make sure to bring a hat and wear sunscreen! |
5. U.S. Golf & Games

Location: 10106 Thermon, Houston, TX
Contact: (281) 715-0480
Business hours:
- Monday to Thursday: 11:00 to 10:00 PM
- Friday: 11:00 AM to 12:00 AM
- Saturday: 10:00 AM to 12:00 AM
- Sunday: 12:00 PM to 10:00 PM
U.S. Golf & Games isn’t exclusively a mini golf course but we included it in the list because it’s the one of the most affordable places to offer mini golf in Houston.
This entertainment center offers a wide variety of activities that cater to all ages, making it a great destination for families and friends looking to have a good time.
The mini-golf course is one of the many attractions in this place. It just has 9 holes with a strong Texas theme, but it’s still fun and challenging! You’ll have to go through the course twice to finish all 18 holes, but at $6 for every 18-hole game, we’re not complaining.
And the cool thing about U.S. Golf & Games is that it has other exciting attractions such as go-karts, arcade games, pool tables, and batting cages. The prices for each attraction are $12 and below. Quality entertainment at a low price.
Do take note that, unlike the other courses in this list, there aren’t any food vendors or restaurants on-site, but there are vending machines available.
Pro Tip: Bring some petty cash if you want to play in the arcade! U.S. Golf & Games has been around for so long that they have game machines that require quarters. |
