Pros
- Warehouse-like club
- Bumping music
- Diverse crown
- Good cocktail selection
Cons
- Slow service
- Lack of seating
Bauhaus Houston has been causing quite a stir in the Houston nightlife scene. At least, that’s what we were told.
So, of course, we visited the club to experience what all the hype was about!
While we were told the dress code was casual, when we entered the club, we noted that most people were dressed in fancy party attire. It gave the club a pretty premium feel, honestly.
We also liked how the club is located in a warehouse, which we thought gave it an industrial feel.
Furthermore, the club had a dark and mysterious ambiance that was perfect for our night out. Dim lights, heavy bass, a lively crowd – basically an electrifying atmosphere.
And on the topic of the crowd, we noted that (as expected) there were many young people – but more interestingly, some older people were enjoying themselves too!
However, the service at Bauhaus Houston is where we thought the club fell short.
While the bartenders were friendly, the service was slow. Plus, when the club got crowded, getting the bartender’s attention was difficult.
The wait for drinks was longer than we would have liked, which put a damper on our night.
The biggest downside, though, was the lack of seating. A few tables and chairs are scattered around the club, but they are quickly taken.
Most people were standing, but in our opinion, that can be tiring after a while.

Pros
- Strobe lights and neon lighting
- Quality sound system
- Great DJ mixer
Cons
- Uncomfortable seats
- Overpriced drinks
- Limited food options
Really, the name of this club already suggests that this is a cool and happening place to be. So, when people we spoke to praised this club, we were quick to check it out and see what all the hype was about.
The first thing we noticed was the club’s exterior and design, which was eye-catching and modern. We also liked the neon and strobe lights inside: they contributed to the unique and dynamic atmosphere.
Furthermore, the music was loud but not overpowering, and it was clear that the club had invested in a quality sound system. What we really thought was great was the DJ’s ability to mix various genres, from hip-hop to electronic, which we noted kept the crowd engaged throughout the night.
However, despite the positive aspects, there were a few areas where we felt New Ice could improve. Firstly, we didn’t like how there were limited seats, and the seats they had weren’t all that comfortable.
Secondly, in our opinion, the drinks were slightly overpriced. Sure, that’s par for the course with most clubs, but it’s always worth mentioning.
Another aspect we didn’t particularly like was the lack of variety in the food options. The club only offered a limited selection of snacks, which were relatively expensive for their size.
But then again, most people probably don’t expect to eat a lot at a club, so that’s a fairly minor issue as clubs go.

Pros
- Chic modern vibes
- Great drinks
- Friendly and attentive bartenders
- Energetic crowds
Cons
- Muffled sound system
- Selective dress code
- Lighting too dim
We recently had the opportunity to visit the bar/nightclub: Behind Closed Doors.
When we arrived at the club, we were immediately drawn to the exterior. The neon lights and the modern design gave off a chic vibe that’s sure to draw party-goers like moths to a flame.
At the entrance, we also noted that the club wasn’t always strict with its dress code. Some guests were let in wearing casual attire, while others were turned away for not meeting the dress code requirements.
So we thought the staff could have been more consistent with their entrance standards.
Furthermore, upon entering the club, we couldn’t help but feel underwhelmed given the expectations the exterior had set for us. The interior design was lackluster and the lighting was too dim, making it hard to see the crowd.
Still, we liked that the music was loud and energetic and the DJ kept the party going all night. The sound system was a bit muffled, though, and the bass was overpowering.
So, it was difficult to enjoy the music for those of us on the more sensitive side. Some of us liked it, though, so different strokes for different folks.
Regardless, we were all in agreement that their drinks were well made, and the bartenders were friendly and attentive. Yet keep in mind that the service can be a bit slow, and there may be long lines at the bar.

Pros
- Reasonable drink prices
- Unique and creative drink concoctions
- Electric crowd
- Energetic DJ and booming bass
Cons
- Routy clubgoers
- Too hot inside to stay long
Slipping through the velvet ropes of Night Game Houston, we were immediately struck by the pulsating energy of the club. The bass from the DJ’s set throbbed through the air, and we knew we were in for a wild night!
The atmosphere was electric, with an eclectic mix of people from all walks of life dressed to impress and ready to party. Although the dancefloor was crowded, there was still enough space to move and groove to the beat.
We also thought the club’s layout was great, allowing us to explore different areas, such as the VIP section and outdoor patio.
For the brief time we spent at the bar, we liked that the bartenders were quick and efficient in serving us. They had a wide selection of drinks at the bar, including some unique and creative concoctions that really stood out.
We thought it was great that the bartenders gave us some delicious drink recommendations that hit the spot. Plus, we noted that the prices were reasonable.
However, there were a few downsides to the club that we couldn’t ignore.
The first was the temperature. It was incredibly hot inside, and with so many people packed in, it was definitely uncomfortable to stay for long periods.
Additionally, some of the clubgoers seemed a bit too rowdy for our liking, occasionally bumping into us pretty violently on the dancefloor.

Pros
- Vintage decor
- Classic jazz nightclub
- Reasonably priced cocktails
Cons
- Gets crowded quickly
- Music is hit or miss
We were told Leon’s Lounge is a hidden gem worth visiting. From the outside, it seemed like a small and unremarkable bar, but once we stepped inside, we were transported to a different era.
The first thing that caught our attention was the ambiance. The dim lighting, vintage decor, and classic jazz music playing in the background created an intimate and classy atmosphere that we thought was perfect.
Plus, we liked almost every drink the bartenders made for us, and they were all reasonably priced. We recommend trying their “Whiskey Smash” or the “Old Fashioned,” by the way.
Another thing that stood out to us was the excellent service. The staff was friendly and attentive, and we liked that they ensured every guest was cared for.
However, one of the downsides of Leon’s Lounge is that it can get crowded quickly. It’s not a large space, so finding a spot to sit can be challenging, especially on weekends.
Also, we noted from the couple of times we went there that the music selection can be hit or miss. While the classic jazz definitely sets the mood, we thought having a bit more variety in the playlist would be nice.
