    Pros

    • Excels in providing cataract surgery to patients
    • Explains the procedure and its risk in detail before performing it
    • Has a patient portal for easier processing and after-surgery contact

    Cons

    • Difficult to get an appointment slot at certain times
    • Sometimes doesn’t answer calls

Dr. John Anderson, who heads the clinic Anderson Eye, is a veteran when it comes to performing cataract surgeries.

What we like about this doctor’s procedure is his thoroughness in the pre-surgery informed consent.  According to his patients, he takes the time in dissecting the steps of the operation, its benefit,  and the possible risks it may entail.

Also, Dr. Anderson makes sure that the patients understand what to do after the operation. Aside from the after-care steps, he also lists the activities that the patient shouldn’t do to heal faster from the procedure.

In terms of his practice, Dr. Anderson will first dilate the pupil using a specialty eye drop. Then, he uses multiple tools like ultrasound probes and incision tools to remove the clouded lens or the cataract from the patient’s eyes.

After this, the doctor also inserts the right type of artificial lens to replace the blurry one. He may use the standard intraocular lens for those with normal eyesight or the multifocal lens for those that have difficulty seeing objects up close

However, some had difficulties securing a slot for surgeries as Dr. Anderson handles a lot of patients. They also complain about their hotlines being unreachable at busy hours.

Despite that, the clinic of Dr. John Anderson provides the patient with a portal so they can easily process their requirements before consultations. It also allows them to contact the doctor quicker for queries and medical concerns.

    Pros

    • Provides general ophthalmology consultations
    • Has an efficient process of scheduling consultations

    Cons

    • Eye tests are more expensive than others
    • Long wait times during peak hours

Long-time patients of Dr. Alan Jarrett praise the doctor for his expertise in giving out general exams for all kinds of eye problems.

During consultations, Dr. Jarrett always makes sure that the patient is comfortable before performing any eye test. He first asks the patients to describe their symptoms, carefully noting anything unusual so he can perform additional tests if necessary.

Then, Dr. Jarrett explains the tests he will perform on the patient, making sure they understand the necessity of the said procedure for a more accurate diagnosis. If he finds something that needs an operation, his staff quickly schedules the procedure.

We commend this fast process as it saves a lot of time, especially if there’s a need for urgent action on the eye problem. This also benefits those that have a busy schedule because of the promptness of the whole process.

Patients, however, need to note that the eye test may cost a lot compared to others because of the quicker processing time. There are also long lines in Dr. Jarret’s clinic during peak hours, especially before noon.

Still, it’s wonderful that Dr. Alan Jarrett’s scheduling process is efficient as he also has a profile on some medical appointment apps like Zocdoc. In there, patients can see his availability and the insurance providers his clinic covers.

    Pros

    • Expert in providing LASIK eye surgery for vision improvement
    • Helpful staff
    • Offers free consultations

    Cons

    • Inefficient scheduling method
    • Has a wait time of 2 hours before the doctor can see his patients

When it comes to LASIK eye surgeries, Dr. John Goosey is the top provider that patients seek due to his focus on the said procedure.

It’s great that the staff at Dr. Goosey’s clinic tries their best to assist his patients. When patients arrive, they always make sure the patients’ papers are complete before they enter the clinic.

When it comes to LASIK surgeries, the clinic uses the latest equipment for the procedure. The lasers that they use treat both myopic (distant object is out of focus) and hyperopic (objects up close are blurry) vision using only a single machine.

Dr. Goosey also controls these lasers during LASIK surgery. During this operation, he creates a thin flap where the curvature of the cornea is reshaped to correct the blurry vision of the patients.

What’s awesome about the procedure is it doesn’t require bigger incisions, thus letting the eye recover quicker.

While their clinic has a state-of-the-art LASIK procedure, they lag when it comes to scheduling appointments. The staff often reminds patients to come 2 hours late from the set consultation time, which is a bit unusual.

The staff issued this reminder because Dr. Goosey has a lot of patients seeking treatment, which makes wait times last as long as 2 hours.

Nevertheless, the clinic of Dr. John Goosey provides free consultations for patients who want to undergo LASIK surgery. This is a wonderful deal that lets patients save more than $100 for an eye checkup.

    Pros

    • Provides medical care to patients suffering from diabetes-related eye diseases
    • The doctors and the staff have an excellent bedside manner

    Cons

    • Sometimes have problems in terms of insurance payments
    • The clinic is a bit too cramped especially when multiple patients are waiting

Many patients of Le Eye Institute are impressed with Dr. Hung Le’s skill in treating patients with eye problems stemming from diabetic complications.

One of the conditions that Dr. Le treats is diabetic retinopathy. Patients suffering from this condition experience partial to total vision loss due to damage in the optic nerves caused by high blood sugar.

We’re impressed with the treatment strategy of Dr. Le, which focuses on slowing or stopping the progression of diabetic retinopathy. He also employs some procedures to partially restore vision to patients with mild to moderate cases of the disease.

Aside from that, he also performs eye surgery for diabetic patients for conditions like diabetic macular edema, cataracts, and glaucoma.

However, there are rare instances of the clinic failing to use the patient’s insurance during billing, which results in some inconveniences during the payment.

Also, the clinic, particularly its waiting area, is small. This makes waiting uncomfortable for some as the place gets a bit crowded when many patients are waiting.

Still, we commend the doctors and staff of Le Eye Institute for their dedication to interacting with the patients. They always engage with people whenever possible, especially Dr. Le who tries to connect with his patients to make them at ease with him.

    Pros

    • Meticulous eye exams
    • The clinic has welcoming energy for new patients

    Cons

    • Patients can only schedule 2 people at the same time
    • Doesn’t accept patients without paid diagnostics

What we like about Dr. Maria Dolores Diaz’s practice as an ophthalmologist is how she performs eye exams for her patients.

When the patient sets foot in the clinic, Dr. Diaz first makes sure that they are comfortable before performing tests. She first communicates with them, making sure they’re familiar with the test to calm their nerves and build proper doctor-patient trust.

Some patients also praise the reception staff for their welcoming energy. We like that they also connect with the patients who are waiting for their appointments while also making new patients familiar with Dr. Diaz’s treatment process.

Dr. Diaz performs all kinds of tests for all ages. From vision tests for prescription eyeglasses to diagnostic tests for pre-surgery like cataracts, she provides quick and timely test results.

However, it’s inconvenient that people can only schedule 2 appointments on the same day in this clinic. Parents with multiple kids who need eye tests may need to find another provider because of this scheme.

The clinic also doesn’t accept patients without paid diagnostic tests, especially for surgeries. So, you might need to prepare extra cash, especially if you don’t have medical insurance.

Nevertheless, Dr. Maria Dolores Diaz takes the time to explain the results of the eye test. If the patient doesn’t understand the diagnosis, she’ll gladly repeat her explanation and make it more digestible for those with little medical knowledge.
