  • Multiple scooter options
  • Operating hours

  • Rental locations
  • Incidental deposit fee

ERYD has one of the largest e-scooter rental fleets in Houston, which makes them an ideal choice for those who want an alternative means to travel across downtown. It’s especially a great choice for those who want to cut costs on their daily commutes.

One of the main things we love about ERYD is its variety of e-scooters available for rent. Each of the e-scooters has a unique style, top speed, range, and rates. You could even rent a two-seater scooter if you want to share a ride with a friend.

We love the overall price of its standard kick scooter rentals which can be rented for $20/hour. With a range of 40 miles, we feel that it’s one of the most cost-effective means of traveling through downtown Houston.

We didn’t like that most of its rental locations were concentrated around the central business district. This makes it fairly uncommon for you to find one of their ERYD rental outposts elsewhere in Houston.

We also disliked that it requires its riders to deposit $150 just in case of accidents or damages. The only good thing about this is that it’s not immediately charged each time you rent a scooter from ERYD.

2. H-Town Scooters

  • Flexible rates
  • Weekly specials

  • Limited services
  • Limited locations

H-Town Scooters is a great choice for scooter rentals if you’re looking for affordable e-scooters around downtown Houston. We feel that it’s especially a great choice if you catch one of their weekly specials!

We like that it offers flexible rates in both 30-minute and one-hour increments, which would be beneficial for those who need an e-scooter for shorter commutes or errands.

While we do like its flexible rates, we didn’t like that the rates of its scooter rentals increased past midnight. This late-night fee came as a surprise to us as it’s the only scooter rental service that had such a fee.

We love that you could also make reservations with H-Town Scooters to rent out several of its scooters for special occasions. We feel this opens up the possibilities for unique experiences with friends and family.

We dislike that it only has one rental location, which can make it difficult for some to find one of its scooters to rent. Thankfully, it’s in a central location which means you can still reach the majority of Houston on a single charge.

We also found its services quite limited for a scooter rental, so it might not be a one-stop shop for all things scooter-related.

  • Offers tours
  • Provides additional services

  • Limited operating hours
  • Rent via app only

Scoots Texas is an ideal choice for scooter rentals for either first-time riders or experienced riders looking to explore H-Town in style. It’s especially a great choice if you’ve fallen in love with scooters and are looking to buy an e-scooter for yourself.

We love that it offers tours of H-Town and the surrounding area, which makes it an amazing activity if you’re new to town. In fact, you can also arrange group tours if you have a large group.

We also appreciate that it doesn’t only provide rental services. You may also purchase e-scooters and e-bikes from its store, which makes it stand out from other scooter rentals on our list. It even provides repairs and services!

While we do like that you don’t have to visit its physical store to rent one of its scooters, we feel that locking its scooter rental behind an app doesn’t benefit everyone. This can be a problem for those who have poor network connections or are in a rush.

We also disliked that its physical store had very limited operating hours, which came as a surprise because they offer tours. It’s even completely closed on Tuesdays! And, on weekends, it only opens after noon.

4. Swerv Scooters

  • Quality scooters
  • Offers moped rentals

  • Limited services
  • Limited store hours

Swerv Scooters is a good overall choice for those who want to explore the heart of downtown Houston. It’s especially great if you want to tour around downtown Houston without impacting the environment as much.

We like that its scooters feature some of the best models and controls of the scooter rentals on our list. So if you’re looking to ride around H-Town in one of the best e-scooters.

We were shocked to find out that you can also rent scooter mopeds if you want additional comfort and style as you ride around H-Town.

Each of these means that Swerv Scooters isn’t as cost-effective as other scooter rental services. It’s definitely one of the higher-end rental services in Houston, without much of any of the additional services from other scooter rentals.

That’s one of the things we dislike about Swerv, it doesn’t offer any other services besides its scooter rental. This is also reflected in its limited store hours, which mainly exist to provide support to its riders and recharge its scooters.

Overall, we feel that Swerv is a good choice for scooter rentals if you care more about the experience. However, for those who are looking to rent scooters on a more regular basis for things like daily commutes, then you should consider other rental services.

  • Excellent Rates
  • Additional services
  • Rewards system
  • Events
  • 1:1 Rider lessons

  • Closed on Mondays and Tuesdays
  • Slow scooter speeds

Rent EBoards Houston is one of the best, if not the best, scooter rental service for new and experienced riders alike. It’s especially an ideal choice for those who are looking to rent a scooter throughout the week.

We love the variety of its rates, which comes in hourly, half-day, full-day, and weekly rates. It provides one of the most cost-effective rental services if you’re renting a scooter for half a day or longer.

We also love that it provides some of the best rider support and customer service of any scooter rental service on our list. We feel that its commitment to its riders and customers only enhances the experience of renting an e-scooter and fosters a great community.

We appreciate that it also offers a rewards system for returning riders, and even hosts ride events, which helps build a sense of community. We feel that if you want to ride with newfound friends then Rent Eboards Houston is one of the best places to do so.

The only thing that we dislike about its rental services is that its scooters have some of the slowest top speeds of any scooter rentals on our list. If you’re looking for faster scooters for your means, then consider other services.
