The 5 Best Shoe Stores in Houston

The 5 Best Shoe Stores in Houston

Our Criteria:

Displays – We selected shoe stores that use their displays to effectively show off wares and inform potential customers about sales and discounts.

We looked for whether the displayed footwear was suitably separated from one another and set up so that it works in tandem with the accompanying labels.
Customer Service – We looked for stores with employees who are well-versed in footwear, are familiar with their inventory, and have a firm grasp on their store’s primary clientele.
Product Selection – Not every shoe store caters to the same audience, so when looking at product selection, we considered the target audience for each of the shoe stores.
Inventory – We chose shoe stores that demonstrated a reliable method of keeping tabs on the most popular shoe brands and models. Plus, having regular inventory restocks. One way we checked this was by determining whether the chosen stores used stock aging codes and stock-keeping units to keep track of their supply.

Pros

  • Casual and comfortable footwear
  • Excellent customer service
  • Numerous brand selections

Cons

  • Expensive prices

Urban Soles Outpost provides a selection of casual and comfy footwear for individuals who dare to venture forth. These are not the kinds of shoes that put style ahead of comfort, and they are not inexpensive, so keep those things in mind!

First of all, Urban Soles Outpost stocks a wide choice of footwear brands. Also, they have experts in lifestyle footwear, and from what we’ve observed, they provide customers with numerous recommendations.

We like how customers here receive high-quality service, and their staff is well-informed and friendly.

Furthermore, we like how the owner of Urban Soles Outpost often mingles with customers, assisting them in finding the best shoe fit. She is well-versed in medical science and the ins and outs of providing comfort for the soles of feet—as a result, the shoes she stocks in the store emphasize comfort.

Moreover, the owner can interpret the requirements of a client almost instantly and provide shoes that offer solutions. In our case, we found that she pays close attention to what you say, responding thoughtfully and going above and beyond to fulfill requests.

Pros

  • Well-informed sales staff
  • Comfortable and trendy brands
  • Prices are reasonable

Cons

  • Staff does not give you undivided attention

Premium Goods is an independent sneaker boutique. They stock comfy and trendy brands like Adidas, Kappa, and Champion, amongst many others

Most of their customers are committed to educating themselves about sneaker culture and fashion. Hence, we like how their selection of shoes reflects the latest shoe trends.

The store is laid out neatly, with various sizes and designs available. Customers can try on numerous pairs of shoes in-store.

We also like how although the prices range from budget-friendly to expensive, their selection leans towards the reasonable side of the price scale.

Furthermore, it’s worth noting that the staff members at Premium Goods are attentive. As customers walk through the door, a staff member is there to greet you and immediately ask if they can assist.

We also found the sales staff well-informed about the brands on their displays. However, due to the number of customers in the store, the staff may not always give undivided attention to a client in helping them pick out the best shoes, which some may interpret as rude.

We went during a very busy time ourselves,  so it took a while before one of their employees was able to actually assist us in our shopping.

3. Sneaker Summit Storefront

Pros

  • Early shoe releases for name brands
  • Various shoe services

Cons

  • Consigned shoe prices are highly variable
  • No returns

Sneaker Summit Storefront has a reputation in the community for throwing some of the largest community-based sneaker events in the world.

Every year they organize multiple sneaker conventions. In addition to this, they also organize unique showcases from well-known brands such as Adidas, Rastacla, and Reebok Classics.

However, we’re really here for the everyday shopping experience… and it’s pretty good. Sneakerheads can purchase, sell, trade, show, and browse fashionable sneakers at their local store.

First, the quality of the shoes at Sneaker Summit Storefront is top-notch. As we mentioned earlier, you’re not short of items from the big brands.

However, as Sneaker Summit Storefront is a consignment store, their consignees set their own prices. Hence there is a range of prices as some want top dollar, and others are willing to take less to get paid quicker.

Keep in mind that Sneaker Summit’s consignees get paid as soon as their items sell. So, there are no returns allowed.

That’s probably the biggest fly in the ointment here. Still, there’s a lot to like about them, like the fact that they have shoes available weeks before they release in most stores.

They also offer various services, such as shoe repairs and on-site adjustments. This is a great way for customers to ensure that their shoes fit correctly and comfortably.

Additionally, we like how the staff here can determine a genuine pair of shoes from a fake. This is a service for customers who bring in shoes they’ve purchased at auctions, and it’s very popular.

Their staff members go through the shoes with a fine-toothed comb to determine if it’s a fake. If it is fake, their staff makes an effort to point out the inconsistencies.

Pros

  • Limited-edition shoes
  • Inventory is always changing
  • Great customer service
  • Inside a coffee shop

Cons

  • Right size not guaranteed

As the first and only location catering to creative lifestyles in Houston, The Tipping Point’s objective is to deliver customers fresh, innovative products and ideas and to make those ideas and products known to those customers.

As a result of this, they provide a broad selection of limited-edition products, including footwear, books, art, clothing, music, and accessories. Do keep in mind that The Tipping point is a thrift store, though, so their stock is always changing, and you may not find specific name brands.

Furthermore, there is no guarantee that you’ll be able to find your size as each pair of shoes they sell are one-of-a-kind. Still, we like how customers can be entertained and enlightened as they learn each shoe’s history and the tale that inspired its creation.

The interior of The Tipping Point is kept bright and inviting, and the staff is always available to answer any customer questions. The merchandise is also always displayed neatly and organized.

Its prices are considered very reasonable for such a wide variety of styles, making it a great option for individuals searching for quality and affordability. They also offer great customer service and a friendly atmosphere, making shopping here pleasant.

Plus, since The Tipping Point shares its shop with a coffee store, we like the bonus of being able to browse through their shoes while enjoying a cup of coffee.

Pros

  • Shoes for runners
  • 3D fit ID technology
  • Sixty day return policy

Cons

  • Expensive

Want the best shoes, apparel, and other gear, as well as expert advice on running gear? Probably one of the best shoe stores in Houston for that is Fleet Feet.

There’s a lot to like here. The sales representatives take the time to examine their customer’s feet and listen to any concerns and requirements for shoes as soon as they go through the door, to start with.

We also like how the staff is straightforward about the types of shoes they carry in stock and the levels of arch support available.

Moreover, we like how Fleet Fleet utilizes 3D fit ID foot scanning technology to evaluate the customer’s foot length, width, and arch height. It is a part of their process for outfitting customers and identifying shoes that are an excellent fit for them.

We like the simple process of browsing through their products because they use an online inventory management system. They offer several different shoes and brands to choose from after analyzing a customer’s foot and considering their own footwear.

Although the prices for the shoes at Fleet Feet are considered expensive, the shoes here are worth the investment for anyone who experiences pain in the soles of their feet, or athletes and people always on the go.

What we like the most is that they even have a treadmill there so customers can test the shoes they want to buy before walking out with them. But if customers are unhappy with the merchandise they have purchased, we like how they have a return policy valid for sixty days.
