Pros
- Plenty of landing areas available
- Trusty planes
- Strict guidelines
- Military-grade equipment
Cons
- Small plane = only 2 students allowed
One of the most popular skydiving centers – not just in Houston, but the entirety of the US – Skydiving Houston got their merits by providing thrill-seekers with a secure skydiving experience overlooking Houston’s most familiar sights!
We have to commend Skydiving Houston primarily with their drop zones, which there are plenty that you can choose from. You can land within Houston, Conroe, Cypress, Katy, Spring, Tomball, The Woodlands, and many other nearby areas!
Skydiving Houston also has a strict policy before accepting any potential skydivers too – absolutely no alcohol and any traces of drugs before jumping, and no scuba diving 24 hours prior too. They need to keep it strict to keep it safe, of course.
Although their planes are trusty Cessna 182s, it’s smaller compared to the airplanes that other skydiving centers in Houston use. It’s still fast enough to make sure that you get to the right altitude in 15 minutes, but it can only take in 3 passengers at a time..
But it’s worth it though, especially since Skydiving Houston also uses military-grade parachutes along with a professional crew to go along with it, so you can rest assured that your experience will be as safe as it is fun!

Pros
- Indoor location
- Knowledgeable staff
- Can be booked for private events
- Plenty of miscellaneous events
Cons
- Lack of outdoor experience
If you’re looking for a skydiving center in Houston for kids and adults alike, then we suggest booking a day with iFLY Indoor Skydiving. After all, you won’t need to fly to skydive – you can do it all indoors!
And it’s not like a cheap bouncy castle with a fan too – it’s a fully powered vertical wind tunnel that lets you feel like you’re skydiving without the danger. If you’re still worried, then their knowledgeable staff are always more than happy to help, too!
Therein lies the “problem” with iFLY Indoor Skydiving – it’s not exactly the place for thrill-seekers. It’s more of a place for your kids to celebrate their birthdays and have fun.
That being said though, they provide excellent service for both kids and kids at heart thanks to its fun activities. If you want your kids to have a really fun time, you can even book them for the entire day for your kid’s (or yours, we don’t judge) birthday party!
Teachers can book them for their field trips too, since iFLY Indoor Skydiving also hosts STEM Field Trips where they can teach kids math and physics in a fun, interactive way, especially with the help of their highly-trained, professional STEM educators!

Pros
- First time lessons
- You can prepay for your experience
- Unique accomodtations
- Skydiving Training Program helps you get your license in a week
Cons
- Strict requirements before renting their gear
If it’s your first time skydiving, we recommend trying out Skydive Spaceland Houston. Not only do they provide lessons for first-time skydivers, they can also help you get your skydiving license in as little as a week, too!
If it’s your first time jumping, Skydive Spaceland Houston doesn’t let you jump out of the plane alone. Instead, they let you jump with one of their professional trainers from 14,000 feet up in the air while letting you pull the cord yourself as well
And if you’re interested in turning skydiving into your hobby, Skydive Spaceland Houston’s Skydiving Training Program (STP) can help you get your license, too! They can even help you get it in as little as a week, as long as you can pay $3199,
If you’re a professional or have just been skydiving for a long time, Skydive Spaceland Houston does have a stricter procedure when it comes to renting their gear. You need to be licnensed USPA SIM 5.2, or fly with one of their instructors before flying out.
That aside though, Skydive Spaceland Houston is still a good skydiving center in the Houston area, especially when you consider that they offer free lodging if you decide to camp in their grounds! They also have bunk beds nearby that you can rent for $15.

Pros
- 1-2 hour drive away from Houston
- College student discount
- Seasoned trainers
- Gift cards available
Cons
- No food available at Drop Zone
Although they’re relatively small compared to other entries on the list, Texas Skydiving still manages to provide great space for adults to have fun and enjoy their day flying from the sky with reasonable prices and discounts!
Now, we do have to address the elephant in the room – Texas Skydiving is not in Houston, but in Lexington. But it’s only an hour or two away from Houston, so it’s still relatively near, and it’s still good since Houston doesn’t have plenty of skydiving centers.
But the longer than usual drive can be worth it, especially if you’re looking for a cheap place to skydive in! They offer good discounts on all their jumps, with the best being their $20 off on for college students’ tandem jumps!
And if you are a college student that’s interested in trying out their tandem jumping, we must warn you that you can’t eat inside their Diving Zone. There is a grill available for after the jump, but you will need to book it with them first through their website.
That aside though, Texas Skydiving still has its own merits – especially when it comes to their seasoned staff. Their team has plenty of experience too, with almost all of them having passed 200+ jumps over their career, so you know you’re in safe hands.

Pros
- Beach landing
- Groupons available
- Gift vouchers are great gifts
- Easy online booking form
Cons
- Media packages are separate payments
If you’ve always wanted a more picturesque skydiving experience in Houston, we suggest trying out Skydive Galveston. That’s because unlike other skydiving centers in Houston where you land in a field, your landing here will be on a sandy beach!
Yes, you’ll be landing at Galveston Beach where you’ll be able to see the entirety of Downtown Houston on clearer days! But even if it’s a bit outcast, you can still see the Texas Gulf Coastline in it, which gives them that unique selling point.
Skydive Galveston’s prices are relatively cheap, with the $179 Weekend Group Rates being the best value if you’re going with your friends. You can bring up to 4 people with you though, and you’ll need to contact them ahead of time for a group of 6 above.
That being said though, Skydive Galveston will charge more for their Multimedia package. For example, it’ll cost an additional $99 for photos only, and $299 more if you want photos and videos together.
But the prices aside, Skydive Galveston offers pretty sights that’s unlike any other skydiving centers in Houston. Their online booking process is relatively easy too, since you won’t need to fill out a lot of forms in the process!
