Pros
- Juicy picanha
- Knowledgeable servers
- Variety of quality cuts
- Quality presentation
Cons
- Mushy vegetables
Our team tried the steaks at Casa do Brasil, which we were told was a popular steakhouse known for its quality cuts and Brazilian-style cuisine.
Upon arrival, the waitstaff greeted us kindly and led us immediately to our table. Of course, this is partly because we made reservations ahead of time. We noted that those without reservations had to wait quite a bit before being seated.
Regardless, as we looked through the menu, we noted various steak cuts available, including ribeye, sirloin, and filet mignon. Our server, who was knowledgeable and attentive, recommended the picanha, a classic Brazilian cut that is known for its tender and juicy flavor.
When our steaks arrived, we were blown away by the presentation. The picanha, in particular, was succulent and flavorful, with just the right amount of seasoning.
We could tell the meat was of the highest quality, and we appreciated the attention to detail that went into every dish.
In addition to the steaks, we also ordered a few sides to accompany our meal.
The garlic mashed potatoes and grilled asparagus were standout dishes, perfectly complementing the rich flavor of the meat. The portions were generous, and we felt we were getting our money’s worth.
However, in our opinion, the other vegetables on the side were a little overcooked, as they were mushy to eat. Could have done better!

Pros

- Crispy yucca fries
- Flavorful chimichurri sauce
- South American ambiance
Cons
- Stale bread rolls
We heard that Saldiva’s South American Grill is a must-visit steakhouse for meat lovers seeking an authentic South American dining experience. So, we went to give it a try ourselves!
Let’s start with the stars of the show – the steaks. Saldiva’s South American Grill offers a variety of cuts, including rib-eye, filet mignon, sirloin, and flank steak.
Our team tried the rib-eye and filet mignon, and we were blown away by the quality of the meat. The steaks were cooked to perfection, with a perfect balance of flavor and tenderness.
Evidently, the restaurant sources its meat from top-quality suppliers, ensuring that every bite is a delight for the senses.
Moving on to the sides, Saldiva’s South American Grill offers a range of authentic South American dishes to complement the steaks. We highly recommend trying the yucca fries, which were crispy on the outside and soft on the inside.
The plantains were also a hit, with a perfect balance of sweetness and saltiness. The chimichurri sauce, a staple in South American cuisine, was a perfect accompaniment to the steaks, adding a burst of flavor to every bite.
However, the bread that came with our meal tasted stale—perhaps it was just the batch we had.
On the other hand, the restaurant’s ambiance at Saldiva’s South American Grill is another highlight. The decor is warm and inviting, with a rustic charm that transports you to South America.
The dim lighting creates an intimate atmosphere perfect for a romantic dinner or a night out with friends. Plus, the service is attentive and friendly, with the staff always ready to offer recommendations and answer any questions you may have about the menu.

Pros
- Perfectly seared steaks
- Charred asparagus
- Tons of steak cuts
Cons
- Cold broccoli
- Flavorless macaroni and cheese
- Slow service
We heard Saltgrass Steakhouse was a popular place to get affordable steaks that don’t skimp on taste. After eating there, we agreed – the quality of the steaks at Saltgrass Steakhouse was top-notch for the prices.
First off, the sear. Besides being cooked to perfection, the steaks had the perfect sear on the outside.
From ribeye to filet mignon, there was something for every steak lover. The menu also featured unique cuts like the “Wagon Boss Center-Cut Top Sirloin” and the “Maudeen’s Center-cut Filet.”
In addition to the steaks, the sides were also noteworthy. For us, the grilled asparagus was a hit, as it was cooked just right and had a nice char to it.
On the other hand, we didn’t like their broccoli and the side of macaroni and cheese we ordered. Their broccoli was cold and hard to chew, while the mac and cheese had no flavor—in our opinion, that is.
However, there is one thing we need to note: it took forever for us to get our food because the service was slow from the beginning.
It took thirty minutes for the waiter to arrive at our table to take our order. We didn’t receive our actual meal until after an hour and a half, but that could also be due to the cooking time of our steaks.

Pros
- Rustic ambiance
- Friendly waitstaff
- Rich and flavorful ribeye
- Creamy garlic mashed potatoes
- Warm butter rolls
Cons
- Undercooked filet steaks
- Noisy restaurant
We recently dined at Longhorn Steakhouse, and we must say, it was an experience that left us feeling like we had just stepped into a wild west saloon.
From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with a rustic ambiance. The restaurant has wooden accents and dim lighting that create a warm and inviting atmosphere.
The wait staff was friendly and attentive, and the restaurant was filled with the aroma of sizzling steaks.
We were immediately drawn to the variety of cuts of steak on offer. There was something for everyone, from the classic ribeye to the more adventurous cowboy ribeye.
We liked the variety of cuts offered on the menu, which included a filet, strip, ribeye, and even a bone-in cowboy cut. While the filet steaks were served immediately, they were undercooked.
Our other steaks were perfectly cooked, with a beautiful sear on the outside and juicy, tender meat inside. We particularly enjoyed the ribeye, which had just the right amount of marbling for a rich, flavorful bite.
We also thought the sides at Longhorn were equally delicious. We loved the loaded baked potato piled high with bacon, cheese, and sour cream.
The garlic mashed potatoes were also a hit, with a creamy texture and plenty of garlic flavor. And let’s not forget the bread – the warm, buttery rolls were the perfect accompaniment to our meal.
Furthermore, we thought it was great that they had an excellent selection of drinks available. Whether you’re looking for a classic beer or a glass of wine, we noted that they have it.
The other downside was that the restaurant was a bit noisy, making it difficult to converse. But that’s a minor complaint, in the grand scheme of things.

Pros
- Juicy and tender sirloin and filet mignon
- Attentive staff
Cons
- Stale macaroni and cheese
- Not enough meat on the ribeye
Many people we spoke to who had eaten at Texas Roadhouse told us the place was a steakhouse that offers a wide variety of cuts of steak, from ribeye to filet mignon. We were also told that they have tons of sides.
So, how did our experience match up to our expectations from what people told us?
When we walked into Texas Roadhouse, the ambiance was cozy and inviting, with Western-style decor and a friendly and attentive staff. The restaurant was clean and well-maintained, and the music was pleasant, not too loud or quiet.
We visited Texas Roadhouse for dinner and decided to try a few different cuts of steak.
We tried their ribeye, filet mignon, and sirloin—almost all of them were delicious. The filet mignon and the sirloin were juicy and tender, with a perfect sear on the outside.
We could tell that the meat was of high quality and well-prepared.
However, the ribeye was a letdown because the steak’s edge was too thin. In our opinion, it was irregularly shaped, as we hoped there was more meat.
Also, with all the steaks, we were allowed to choose sides – and there really were a lot of options. We tried their mashed potatoes, which were creamy and buttery, and steamed vegetables, which were cooked just right.
We also tried their macaroni and cheese, but it was not appetizing. It reminded us of the texture and the flavor of stale box macaroni and cheese.
