Pros
- Relaxed atmosphere
- Live pianist
- Well-seasoned porterhouse steak
- Vast wine selection
Cons
- Flavorless ribeye
Pappas Bros. Steakhouse claims to focus on providing their customers with a complete dining experience by means of their pristine steaks and fine quality wines—over 3,900 bottles to choose from.
Some former customers we spoke with informed us that the ribeye they ate at Pappas Bros. Steakhouse was under-seasoned and lacked in quality. In contrast, others raved about the superiority of the cuts at Pappas Bros. Steakhouse.
To savor the overall steakhouse vibes, our experience at Pappas Bros. Steakhouse started at the bar with a cocktail while listening to the soothing jazz notes played by their pianist.
When we were ready to try out their steak selection, classic old-school servers in black vests led us to a table dressed in white linen and under flattering lighting—perfect for pictures of our meal.
The waiter was knowledgeable as we inquired about the types of steaks used at Pappas Bros. Steakhouse. He informed us they specialize in preparing USDA Prime (in-house dry-aged beef).
As we glanced through the menu, we noted the prices—not your average budget country steakhouse. Regardless, we sampled various cuts: ribeye, bone-in, and their Pappas Bros. signature cut, a 26-ounce porterhouse cut.
While the tomahawk ribeye had little flavor, Pappas Bros. signature porterhouse cut was the hit of our evening. It was seared emphatically and well-seasoned.
With every bite, we experienced a generous amount of flavor and tenderness. Additionally, the bone-in cut was high-toned, developed, and consisted of deep juicy flavors.
Moreover, the classic baked potato sides and string beans complemented our steak choices well. The different glasses of red wine we sampled also added to our overall enjoyment of our meal at Pappas Bros. Steakhouse.

Pros
- High-quality wine
- Efficient service
- Flavorful steaks
Cons
- No splitting the check
- Strict dress code enforced
- Minimum of $80 per person for large groups
Many former Vic & Anthony’s Steakhouse customers told us they felt that the staff made them feel comfortable and went above and beyond to make their experience special.
Others have commented on Vic and Anthony’s Steakhouse being a good place for an upscale family dinner due to the efficiency of the customer service and the politeness demonstrated to all diners.
When our client made a reservation for a tester dinner at Vic & Anthony’s Steakhouse, they noted the dress code specifically applying to the head and feet only.
Yes, the dress code is enforced because our client informed us that they saw a couple wearing sandals not allowed into the dining room but only into the bar area.
As our client went with a large party, they were informed that the minimum purchase amount was $80 a person.
Despite this, our client and their party ordered different steak cuts off the menu to test the quality of their meat cuts.
The steaks we sampled were cooked to perfection, tender and flavorful, except for one that was overcooked. Regardless, the high-quality bottles of wine and quick service made up for the undercooked steak.
When it was time for our client to leave, however, they faced the inconvenience of the restaurant being unable to split the check. Thankfully, everyone had extra cash to spare.

Pros
- Knowledgeable waiters
- Butter based steaks
Cons
- No filet mignons
Georgia James has waiters that know their steak cuts. At least, that’s what we’ve heard.
People we spoke to informed us that the knowledgeable wait staff provides excellent recommendations for newcomers or anyone unsure what to order at their steakhouse.
Additionally, many commented on the ambiance and relaxing vibes Georgia James provides for all those who dine at their steakhouse.
We started off our evening at Georgia James, sampling their cocktail drinks. Their classic Old Fashion drink teased was mixed well and whet our appetite.
As we examined the menu, we noted that they don’t serve filet mignons. Upon inquiring why filet mignons aren’t served, the waiter informed us that the reason was the lack of sustainability.
Furthermore, we had difficulties choosing between the Long Bone Ribeye and the Wagyu steak. Thankfully, the waiter suggested that we try the Wagyu steak and their classic mushroom side.
We appreciated how he was also quick in bringing us a starter of sourdough bread and butter.
While the steaks we had at Georgia James were delicious, we did note that they felt drenched in butter. This could be because the steaks at Georgia James are cast iron seared and butter basted.
On the other hand, the creme brulee banana cream pie took our taste buds to heaven. The sweetness paired well with the savoriness and buttery taste of Vic & Anthony’s steaks.

Pros
- Genuine customer service
- Romantic atmosphere
- Tender steaks
Cons
- Limited availability
The team at Steak 48 has a reputation among their customers for providing genuine customer service and quality steak selections. At least it’s what we were told.
After dining at Steak 48, our client was impressed with the attentiveness and professionalism that all staff at Steak 48 displayed. Of course, they had some choice words to say about the steaks too.
Because the availability at steak 48 can be limited, our client booked a reservation online in advance—rightfully so, because there were hardly any empty tables upon arrival.
The romantic atmosphere at Steak 48 sets the mood for any lovers looking for an upscale steakhouse place for a date night. It was no wonder why the majority of customers at Steak 48 were couples.
While the steaks and appetizers were pricey, the quality of the food made the price well worth it.
Not only was the bread on the house, but the steaks were prepared to our client’s liking. Our client ordered their steak medium-rare, and the tender quality of the meat left them beyond satisfied.
What impressed our client the most, though, about Steak 48 was that a customer service representative called the next day to inquire about their experience, demonstrating genuine customer care service.

Pros
- Mediterranean steaks
- Excellent presentation
- Israeli romantic atmosphere
Cons
- Expensive
- Limited availability
Doris Metropolitan provides a change of pace from the average upscale steakhouse. Customers we talked to had nothing but wonderful things to say about the staff, the steaks, and the overall vibe Doris Metropolitan radiates.
During our dinner experience at Doris Metropolitan, it was clear to see why Doris Metropolitan has numerous positive remarks.
Because of its popularity, we booked reservations in advance. Although walk-ins are available, there is no guarantee of getting a table.
Of course, though, the prices are nowhere near being budget-friendly. Still, the Israeli flair, the atmosphere, and the food at Doris Metropolitan set it apart from other average steakhouses—making the dining experience worth every last penny.
For an open-air restaurant, everything was well executed. Everything was well presented and cooked to perfection, from the crispy baked bread to the sous vide steaks.
Moreover, we were impressed by the top-notch presentation and the waiter’s knowledge about the variety of steaks they offer. The tenderloin steak we had paired nicely with the house Cabaret they provided.
Furthermore, their steaks bring out the Mediterranean flair when paired with Msabbaha and Israeli salad. The chickpeas and tahini combination sent our taste buds overseas to the Mediterranean when we paired our steak with the Masabbaha.
