What is iFly Houston?

iFly Houston is an indoor skydiving facility that has been providing services to various locations across the world since 1998. Their vision is to enable people of all ages and abilities to experience the exhilaration of skydiving safely.
iFly opened its very first location in Orlando. Since then, more than 10 million individuals worldwide have tried the experience in over 80 locations both in the US and around the globe from Europe, Asia, Australia, and the UK.
What sets iFly apart is not just the number of facilities they’ve built but the global community they’ve created. By pioneering the sport of body flight and leading the world in vertical wind tunnel technology, they’ve changed the way we think about flying.

But their journey has been more than a geographical expansion; it’s a testament to human innovation. iFly has also earned a place in history as the innovators behind recirculating wind tunnels, making the dream of flight accessible to everyone.
Inside an iFly tunnel, the airflow is specifically designed for maximum enjoyment, by using four huge fans on top of the flight chamber that drive air through special columns that push and speed it up as it enters the flight chamber.
Starting with their Generation 1 wind tunnel, iFly has consistently pushed the boundaries of what’s possible. Their commitment to innovation has led to ongoing enhancements up until the current Generation 9 version.
iFly’s wind tunnels are marvels of technology, delivering the smoothest, most comfortable flight experience. They’re doing it sustainably too. Their tunnels consume less than one-third of the power required by other similar tunnels.
Things to Know Before Going
Before booking a flight, it’s important to know if you or your loved ones are eligible to fly. Flyers must be between below 300 lbs to fly for safety reasons. Those weighing from 260 to 300 lbs, might be allowed based on the assessment of staff on the day itself.
There are no height requirements, so even the kids can enjoy the experience. Flyers from ages 3 to 103 are welcome to fly, but minors under 18 are required to have a guardian sign the waiver for them.
The iFly team will not allow visitors to fly if they are pregnant, have a cast or prosthetic, have had a prior or current head, neck, shoulder, or back injury, and a heart condition.

Enjoying the Indoor Skydiving Experience

For those venturing into the world of indoor skydiving for the first time, the initial flight is all about mastering the art of stability. Once acquainted with the basics, you’ll learn to adjust your body for turns, forward and backward movements, and sliding side to side.
After mastering, upward and downward maneuvers, you can start to explore the wind tunnel. The true fun starts after you try flying on your back and learn how to do barrel rolls to head-over-feet maneuvers.
For those seeking an extra kick of excitement, the high flight experience is a game-changer. Flyr higher and faster with your instructor, reaching heights and speeds beyond what you’d achieve solo.
Indoor skydiving isn’t just a solo endeavor. You can fly along with friends or family members and share the thrill of flying together or try in-flying games with the help of your instructors.
Don’t forget to check out the photos they take of you during your flight. You can buy the photos afterwards for a cute and memorable keepsake!
