Lightscape — The Houston Botanic Holiday Event of the Year.

Lightscape — The Houston Botanic Holiday Event of the Year

With winter just around the corner, people will soon rush to the nearest plant stores for miniature Christmas trees to adorn their houses and apartments again.

Musicians will rush to the recording studio to drop the freshest holiday mixes. Not to mention the matching holiday couple T-shirts that may reappear this winter.

Amidst the forthcoming holiday rush, The Houston Botanic Garden prepares for its very own special holiday event: Lightscape.

What is Lightscape at Houston Botanic Garden?

Lightscape is a musical holiday event thrown every year from the months of November to January 1st at the Houston Botanic Garden. There are dramatic light shows, fire pits, and musicians, among others.

At the Houston Botanic Garden entrance, an arch tunnel hangs off the top of the trees. Up to 100,000 lights are used just for the arch tunnel alone.

From the arch, an immersive winding lit-up pathway leads to the illuminated gardens making Lightscape a popular holiday event for all who live in Houston.

Lightscape Experience

Lightscape is a festive experience for everyone of all ages. Lightscape opens up to the general public at 5:30 PM, but the last entry is at 8:30 PM.

The Houston Botanic Garden trails themselves close at 10 PM. Because Lightscape is a self-guided event, there is no rush to walk to the end of the gardens.

Photographers can use the dramatic backdrops within the gardens for holiday social media posts. Anyone can enjoy s’mores at the fire pits scattered throughout the gardens while listening to international musicians play classic holiday tunes.
