What is Houston’s “Little Mexico”?
Old Town Harrisburg is a park in Houston known as the city’s “Little Mexico” because of the many replicas of famous Mexican places found within the complex.
Located in the East End district, it captivates visitors with its vibrant Mexican-American communities and cultural treasures.
The park was built as an effort to house a replica of Harris Home in Harrisburg, which served as the second Texas Capitol during the state’s fight for independence in 1836.
While the location already houses several tourist attractions, there are still many more on the way! There’s a plan to make the 4-block area a multi-use destination complete with good food, an assortment of shops, and immersive cultural influences.

The Callejón del Beso is reminiscent of the famous alleyways found in Guanajuato, Mexico, where the original story took place of a rich man’s daughter and a miner who lived in opposing apartments and could only meet through the balconies.
