The 5 Best All You Can Eat Crawfish Spots in Houston

The 5 Best All You Can Eat Crawfish Spots in Houston

Our Criteria:

Freshness: Crawfish is not always in season. Hence, when considering restaurants that offer all-you-can-eat crawfish, we considered the quality of freshness in not only taste, but appearance of their selection of crawfish.
Variety:  When eating crawfish, it’s essential to have different side dishes. Therefore, we chose restaurants that provide a range of cuisines and cater to different dietary styles.
Service:  The food quality was not the only thing we looked for when choosing all-you-can-eat crawfish restaurants. We considered the quality of service the staff at the selected restaurants provided.
Hygiene:  When it comes to seafood, it is easy to get sick if it’s not cleaned correctly. So we selected restaurants that exercised a sense of hygiene when preparing and serving crawfish.

Pros

  • Variety of Asian cuisines
  • Fresh crawfish
  • Hibachi bar

Cons

  • Blood-stained chicken
  • Unreceptive service

Hibachi Seafood & Grill Market serves fresh cuisine, including all-you-can-eat crawfish and other tasty entrées. At least, that’s what we’ve heard.

When we went to Hibachi Seafood, we liked the variety of available seafood, soups, vegetable appetizers, and desserts. There’s a variety of food from different Asian cuisines, such as kimchi, dumplings, sushi, and crawfish.

Furthermore, there are ample seating capacities for hundreds, a vast circular tray ceiling with mood lighting, and a hibachi bar.

As we waited in line, we noticed empty plates were cleared from the tables promptly, and the staff refilled the trays at the buffet bar upon running out.

We also liked how you can choose your raw fish, vegetables, and other rice and noodles ingredients right then and there at the counter. The chef cooks up your food right in front of you.

We avoided choosing the chicken, as we noted there were blood stains in the tray, but the crawfish selection was fresh and decent-sized.

While everything we ate at Hibachi Seafood & Grill tasted delicious, we did not like the service we received. The entire time we were there, the staff was unreceptive and unhelpful.

We also didn’t like how a worker came to our table while we were still eating and attempted to remove our dishes. We felt rushed to finish our meal.

Pros

  • Variety of cuisines
  • Flavorful crawfish dipping sauce
  • Tender short ribs

Cons

  • Small buffet
  • Meatless crab legs

The last time we visited Kirin Japanese Seafood & Sushi Buffet, everything from teriyaki chicken to crawfish and a broad range of sushi was on the menu.

The buffet atmosphere at Kirin was clean, and we liked how all the staff members handled the trays while wearing gloves. While service here was more do-it-yourself, the cashier and the staff at the counter were friendly.

The buffet was on the small side, but everything out in the trays we saw appeared to be appetizing. Of course, we didn’t have time to try everything, but from what we did have, we can testify that the quality of food at Kirin was fresh.

We started with their boiled crawfish. As it was boiled, there was no seasoning to the crawfish meat, but fireworks exploded in our mouths when we ate it with their dipping sauce.

We also liked their tender and flavorful short ribs, which went by fast at the buffet. While their sushi and nigiri were delectable, the rice was rough and hard to stomach.

Furthermore, their selection of snow crab legs was small, and there was hardly no flesh inside to eat. But we did enjoy their green tea ice cream.

Pros

  • Polite staff
  • Variety of seafood
  • Fresh hibachi grill
  • Delicious apple tarts

Cons

  • Limited sushi assortment
  • Color-fading crawfish

Many we spoke with informed us that China Sea Hibachi Buffet provides excellent service and a fusion of Chinese and Japanese dishes.

From our experience, we can attest to the fact that politeness and hospitality were shown toward us by their staff members.

The atmosphere of China Sea Hibachi Buffet was attractive and spacious, with plenty of seats. We also liked how the buffet was well-maintained and well-stocked.

Furthermore, we liked how the staff immediately took our empty dishes away when we put them off to the side. Also, someone frequently came by to check on our beverages and ensure everything was good.

Although they had a limited assortment of sushi, they had a nice variety of fish, shrimp, crawfish, and crabs. Additionally, they had a hibachi grill bar.

We tried out their crawfish and a grilled mix of vegetables and fish from their Hibachi bar. Most of their crawfish selection was fresh, but some pieces we noticed were starting to fade in color.

As for the grilled mix we had, the color and texture of the shrimp indicated to us that they were fresh. The bean sprouts were quite crunchy and added to the simple flavors.

For dessert, we liked their array of freshly baked pastries, not limited to delicious apple tarts.

Pros

  • Flavorful vegetable crawfish boil
  • Creamy ice cream
  • Family-friendly ambience
  • Helpful staff

Cons

  • Overdone fried shrimp
  • Chemical-tasting squid
  • Cold sautéed mushrooms

King Palace Super Chinese Buffet has an abundance of tasty options that can be found at their massive buffet. At least, that’s what we were told.

We first noted King Palace Super Chinese Buffet has staff that go out of their way to ensure that each customer has a memorable meal. Many waiters went around to nearby tables, refilling their drinks and removing the dirty plates.

The overall ambiance of the restaurant was relaxed and family-friendly. Additionally, we liked how everything at the buffet was clean, but we didn’t like how sticky their chairs were to sit on.

As for the quality of the meals we tasted, they varied. The chicken skewer we started off with was salty and hard to chew.

There was a noticeable lack of flavor in several of their sauces. Bitterness pervaded the otherwise sweet and sour sauce.

We liked how they offered salad and hard-boiled eggs as a healthier alternative to their seafood selection. Yet, we didn’t like the fried shrimp as it tasted overdone.

The squid tasted as though it had been cleaned with a chemical. Moreover, the sauteed mushrooms were cold, and the sauce was solidified.

However, we liked the variety of vegetables in the crawfish boil and its flavor. The crawfish meat was white in color, so it was fresh, and there wasn’t an odor to it.

When it comes to dessert, we liked the ice cream maker. The vanilla and chocolate ice cream were creamy and not too sweet.

Pros

  • Delicious spicy crawfish
  • Variety of Vietnamese cuisine
  • Hygienic staff
  • Great dim sum selection

Cons

  • Mushy crab
  • Salty snails
  • Salty bun rieu noodles

Kim Son is known by many in their community for being a Vietnamese buffet with unlimited crawfish, fresh noodles, and delicious dim sum. From our experience at Kim Son, we can attest to the validity of these remarks.

To start, the wait for a table was close to an hour, and the buffet line was long. Yet, we noted as every dish at the counter was devoured, it was rapidly restocked by staff wearing masks and plastic gloves.

We liked the variety of prepared plates, street delicacies, and noodles at the many different food stations throughout  Kim Son. Furthermore, they had a nice selection of drinks varying from Thai tea, matcha, and taro.

The broth in all of the noodle soups we tried was quite flavorful. Each and every broth had its own unique taste.

For the most part the noodles were fresh, but their bun rieu noodles were salty. We also didn’t like how mushy their crabs were or how salty their snails were.

But we did like their flavorful BBQ pork, calamari rings, hog legs, and green beans. Moreover, they had a variety of different dim sum dishes, every one we tried was tasty.

As for their crawfish, the taste was pungent with garlic and moderately spicy from the chili oil—delicious. We also liked how their selection of crawfish was plentiful, and there was tons of meat on each crawfish we had.
