Weddings are the most important day in a lady’s life. After all, you’ll be married to the love of your life, and soon after you’ll live your life hand in hand with your partner.
Bachelorette parties are a good way to get rid of some of the newlywed yips before a big life event. Unlike what others might say, marriage is a big deal – and what better way to let off some steam than having fun with some of your girlfriends before getting married?
If you’re a Houstonian bachelorette, then we have two things for you – firstly, congratulations! Secondly, we have some ideas you can do for your bachelorette party!
1. Party at Hamburger Mary’s
Address: 1008 Prairie St Houston, TX 77002
Phone Number: (713) 677-0674
Hours: Monday – Tuesday: Closed
Wednesday: 11 PM – 2 AM
Thursday: 6 PM – 2 AM
Friday: 5 PM – 2 AM
Saturday: 10 AM – 2 AM
Sunday: 10 AM – 10 PM
One of Houston’s most famous LGBTQIA+ bars, Hamburger Mary’s is a must-visit for their impressive drag shows for your bachelorette party! Fun fact, RuPaul’s Drag Race finalist Mistress Isabelle Brooks performs there regularly when she’s not busy on tour!
The bar offers great food like Mary’s Classic and a good selection of drinks as well. Your husband-to-be won’t even have to worry too much since the bar is mostly populated by queer men, too!
If you’re planning to have your bachelorette party at Hamburger Mary’s, we suggest booking ahead of time by either sending them a message through their Facebook or sending them an email!
Pro Tips: Though a bride-to-be is a drag queen’s best friend, please do not pull on any performer’s wigs or costumes – and yes, even if you’re a bit drunk! The Eagle Houston, or any LGBTQIA+ Bars for that matter, is still a public space! |
2. Try Wine Tasting at Haak Vineyard
Address: 6310 Avenue T, Santa Fe, TX 77510
Phone Number: 409-925-1401
Hours: Monday: 4:00 PM – 8:00 PM
Tuesday: Closed
Wednesday, Sunday: 11:00 AM – 9:00 PM
Thursday – Saturday: 11:00 AM – 10:00 PM
If your bridal party is less of a party animal but still wants to get a little bit of a buzz going, we suggest trying out Haak Vineyard’s wine tasting and tours! They’re only a 30-minute drive away from Houston too, which makes them pretty accessible!
Haak Vineyard’s wines have won several accolades both in the United States and Internationally, and booking a wine tour with them educates you on how they’re made. It only costs $32 per person per tour, too!
They also have an Airbnb-style rental house that you can rent for a night out, as well! It will cost $350, but you’ll be staying in a luxurious cabin that’s filled with modern-day amenities that you can use anytime, so the price is more than worth it.
You can also get some of their quality wines after your visit! Though all of their wines are good, we suggest the Jacques Madiera or the Blanc du Bois Madeira if you’re looking for something a bit stronger.
Pro Tips: We suggest booking your tour at least a month or two before your desired date, especially during the peak wedding season! You will need a longer time if you want to rent their AirBnB at the same time, ideally at least half a year ahead! |
3. Relax at Home with The Houston School of Massage

Address: 10600 Northwest Fwy #202, Houston, TX 77092
Phone Number: 713-681-5275
Hours: Monday – Saturday: 9:00 AM – 8:00 PM
Sunday: Closed
If you and your girlfriends are more of the stay-at-home type, then we recommend trying out at-home massages from The Houston School of Massage! It’ll set you $40 if you want a student to do your massage, or you can hire a professional for $20 more!
Despite being more expensive, we suggest hiring a student to help them out. Although they’re not yet officially accredited, it would be a nice gesture to get them started in the industry.
Each massage lasts an hour, and you can rest assured that you’re in good hands (get it?) too! The students you’ll be calling have 250 hours of coursework under their belt, so you can rest assured that you and your girlfriends will be as relaxed as possible!
Pro Tips: * If you think that the students that you’ve hired for your massage did a lackluster job, you should always give them constructive feedback! Remember, they’re still students, and any form of (kindly-worded) advice towards them will help! |
4. Try A Different Approach to Gardening at POST Houston
Address: 401 Franklin St, Houston, TX 77201
Phone Number: 713-999-2550
Hours: Sunday – Wednesday: 11:00 AM – 9:00 PM
Thursday – Saturday: 11:00 AM – 10:00 PM
Branding itself as “Downtown Houston’s hub for culture, food, and recreation”, POST Houston has plenty of activities for you and your bridal party to enjoy! There’s lots to do, from exploring the 5-acre, multi-storey building to taking pictures in the Skylawn!
The Skylawn is, as its name implies, is a garden in POST Houston’s rooftops. But what makes this garden in the sky unique is that it has a fully functioning Skyfarm on top of it too!
The Skyfarm is a one-acre garden that you can tour for $180 for 3 hours. The price might seem steep, but you can take 10 people with your entourage, and if you have a green thumb then you can volunteer with them as well!
Pro Tips: If you find the price to be a bit too steep, then you can always visit them during their Open Farm Days for a free tour every Saturday from 1 PM – 3 PM! It’s not ideal for a bachelorette party, but it’s a good visit if you’re with your family. |
5. Relax at The Milk + Honey
Address: 2800 Kirby Dr. Suite A-134, Houston, TX 77098
Phone Number: 713-231-0250
Hours: Monday – Sunday: 8:00 AM – 10:00 PM
Contrary to popular belief, bachelorette parties aren’t just parties. Sometimes, it’s okay to take a step back and relax – and what better way to do that than visiting Milk + Honey and booking a massage!
What makes Milk + Honey unique is the fact that you don’t just get hot stone massages for $190 per person – you can also get your hair done! The salon has a wide array of services, from styling and cuts to hair color to waxing and mani-pedis, as well!
The benefits don’t stop even after your bachelorette party, since you can become a Milk + Honey member for free! Members enjoy $10 off, along with giving you reward points for every dollar spent!
Pro Tips: If you have an appointment with Milk + Honey, we suggest you arrive at least 15 minutes prior to your appointment. Any further than that, and you and your girlfriends will have to wait at least 30 minutes more. |
6. Get Scared at the REDRUM Fear Park
Address: 1800 E Hwy 90 Alt, Richmond, TX 77406
Phone Number: 281-762-0034
Hours: Sunday – Thursday: Closed
Friday – Saturday: 7:00 PM – 11:00 PM
A clearly obvious The Shining reference, REDRUM (and if you don’t know the reference, then try spelling it backward!) Fear Park is for the bachelorette party that wants a different kind of party experience!
Since they mostly only open during the Halloween season, you can expect every year to be a step up from the previous. The previous 2023 season already had great scares to it too, with the Deadwood Asylum being the scariest of the bunch!
Purchasing even a general admissions ticket for $40 per person will also mean that you can visit any attraction as many times as possible during their operating hours. That means more time for scares and thrills for the bride-to-be and her party!
Pro Tips: REDRUM Fear Park does not serve alcohol at all, and you’re not allowed to bring in any within their premises too. Thus, we suggest planning a bar hopping trip directly afterwards if you want to end your bachelorette party with a bang! |
7. Practice Pole Dancing at Inner Me Studios
Address: 2206 Emancipation Ave, Houston, TX 77003
Phone Number: 713-533-1455
Hours: No set time; check here
If you want to learn something new during your bachelorette party, then we suggest trying out Inner Me Studios’ pole dancing classes! After all, pole dancing isn’t just a skill – it’s also a great core exercise, too!
Renting a Party Dance Lesson means you’ll pay a $100 deposit, and the entrance fee is a separate $299 for the first 8 people. But it’s a welcome price to pay for an enriching class with their seasoned teachers. You can even add a second dance theme for $100!
The 10,000-square-foot facility is also big enough for you and your bridal party too! This means that you and your friends have more than enough room to practice and finesse your pole dancing skills.
Pro Tips: Inner Me Studios has plenty of other classes other than pole dancing! You can also try dancing like Beyonce or dancing Burlesque ala Christina Aguilera from the film of the same name! |
8. Go for Brunch at Bloom & Bee
Address: Main Lobby, Post Oak Hotel, 1600 West Loop South, Houston, TX 77027
Phone Number: 346-227-5139
Hours: Sunday – Thursday: 7:00 AM – 9:00 PM
Friday – Saturday: 7:00 AM – 10:00 PM
What better way to start your bachelorette party itinerary than having brunch – and if you want to brunch in the same place where celebs go, then we recommend trying out Bloom & Bee at The Post Oak Hotel!
You’re not only getting brunch at one of Houston’s most famous hotels, but you’ll also have the liberty of enjoying their farm-to-table food, too! The Vegetarian Tempura is great, but if you’re craving red meat then the Pan-Seared Filet Mignon is a good choice.
Though the prices are on the steep side, it’s well worth it for a classier brunch experience. The walls are a bright shade of pink too, which is perfect for a bachelorette party!
Pro Tips: We suggest booking your bachelorette brunch at the Bloom & Bee way ahead of time, or booking a night’s stay at the hotel beforehand. It can be difficult to secure your spot there since it’s a high-end brunch spot! |
9. Learn to Paint at Pinot’s Palette
Address: 2406 Taft St, Houston, TX 77006
Phone Number: 713-523-4769
Hours: Monday: Closed
Tuesday – Sunday: 10:00 AM – 10:00 PM
Wine and paint nights aren’t just for housewives, it’s for housewives-to-be and their girlfriends to try out! Pinot’s Palette at Taft Street still incorporates drinking, but it’s not a party scene and more of an enriching experience to get your bachelorette party started!
Pino’s Palette classifies themselves as a “Paint and Sip studio” that you can rent out for private events – i.e. your bachelorette party! You can customize the party to your liking too, from choosing what you’d like to paint along with your choice of drinks, too!
The customization doesn’t end there – you can make it a more lowkey event for the more hush-hush brides-to-be, or you can turn it into a full-on party as well! They also provide all the drinks and ice too, and it’s a steal for $65 per person!
Pro Tips: If you’re booking a bachelorette party with Pinot’s Palette, we suggest dropping by at least 45 minutes beforehand! The party starts 30 minutes before your scheduled time, and they can (and will) cancel your party if you’re late! |
10. Party on the Road With Party Bus Lounge
Address: 5718 Westheimer Rd, Houston, TX 77057
Phone Number: 713-322-8998
Hours: Open 24 hours
Party buses are a staple when it comes to bachelorette parties. And if you ask us, Party Bus Lounge offers a good space for your entourage when you’re location-hopping with the rest of your bridal party!
They have several types of buses that you can rent, and renting the bigger buses means that you’ll have more bells and whistles, too! The bigger Mega Lounge like The Billagio can seat 50 people, and it even comes with power outlets and a gaming system, too!
The water and cups are also complementary, which means that all you and your girlfriends have to bring are the drinks and your lively partying and you’re good to go and party while on the move!
Pro Tips: Depending on the day you booked them, some of Party Bus Lounge’s buses can have a distinct smell. We suggest bringing in some disinfectant spray at the ready, since you don’t know what happened there the previous day! |
