Baytown Comfort Picks: Top 10 Baytown Restaurants

Baytown Comfort Picks Top 10 Baytown Restaurants
  • Affordable prices: Baytown is already an expensive city to live in, so the food prices there don’t have to be expensive. The ideal Baytown restaurants should ideally sell their food for a relatively cheap price!
  • Food options: Yes, we know certain restaurants focus on a certain niche, but a little bit of variety adds more charm to a restaurant.
  • Atmosphere: Restaurants with dull atmospheres are just not fun places to be in. The ideal Baytown restaurant should provide a fun, cheerful atmosphere to make their guests feel at home!
  • Delicious food: What good is a restaurant if they can’t provide good food, right? All the items above are great, but for a Baytown restaurant to be on our radar, they should be able to serve delicious food, too!

Pros

  • Authentic Tex-Mex cuisine
  • Good food variety
  • Great mix of food items
  • Arena Features are a must-try

Cons

  • Some food can be expensive

If you’re ever in the Baytown area and you’re craving a good Tex-Mex restaurant, then we suggest trying out El Toro Mexican Restaurant. They have two locations and a great variety and number of menu items, which is honestly a pleasant surprise.

If you’re looking for the more traditional Tex-Mex experience, then we suggest their Tacos al Cabron (the cabron here stands for goat’s milk). But if you’re looking for something different, then the Monterey Dinner is a good pick.

And if you’re willing to fork a bit more cash, then we suggest trying out food from their Arena Features! Yes, their Guadalajara will set you back $40, but the serving size and flavor make it very much worth it!

Pros

  • Opens early on weekdays
  • Authentic Cuban food
  • Cheap menu items
  • Good variety of food items

Cons

  • Opens late and closes early on weekends

In our opinion, Cuban food is a bit underrated. But what if we tell you that Cuban Cafe is THE Baytown restaurant for this underrated cuisine? And the best part is, you won’t even have to spend a whole lot of money!

What makes Cuban Cafe different is their specialty dishes. Their Authentic Cuban Sandwich is the perfect blend of savory and sweet. It pairs really well with their Cuban Coffee, which is a double espresso with lots of cream!

But if you’re looking for a filling meal, then the Chicken from the lunch menu has Cuban Sofrito in it which gives it that distinct taste. Order that with their 1905, aka a salad with Cuban bread, and you’re in for a great lunchtime meal.

One of the only nitpicks we have with Cuban Cafe is that they close relatively early on weekends – 2 PM, in fact.

They more than make up for it on the weekdays since they open really early at 4 AM, to be exact! Add that to their relatively cheap prices and you’re in for a wonderful Baytown breakfast restaurant from a country’s cuisine you never expected!

Pros

  • Easy online ordering through DoorDash
  • Lots of food options
  • Make-your-own-poke-bowl
  • Gluten-free options available

Cons

  • Expensive menu items

What makes Bay Poke unique is that you can customize your meals to fit your own standards. This is because, unlike other restaurants that specialize in a certain dish, they specialize in a certain way of eating.

Yes, as their name suggests, Bay Poke specializes in poke bowls! You can even customize your own bowls to make it uniquely yours – and even make a gluten-free option, too!

That said, if you don’t want their poke bowls, then you can also opt for their regular menu options which isn’t half bad as well. If you’re looking for something different, then we recommend trying out their Bay Special Ramen for that special kick!

Their relatively steep prices are worth it since their food’s flavor more than makes up for it. And speaking of DoorDash, they’ve recently partnered with the app too so you can get your orders delivered!

4. Pipeline Grill

Pros

  • Nice variety of menu items
  • Build your own pizza offers great customizability
  • Okay prices
  • Kids eat for free on Tuesdays

Cons

  • No mixing appetizers

Branding themselves as the “best Baytown restaurant”, Pipeline Grill provides specialty pizzas and a good variety of menu items.

One thing that stands out with Pipeline Grill is that kids under 12 years old can eat there for free on Tuesdays! You’ll have to purchase entrees first, but their Liil’ Driller menu has great kid-friendly options like their Pasta & Garlic Bread.

Speaking of, Pipeline Grill’s unique entrees make them stand out. Though their regular menu is great, their specialty Brick Oven Pizza has an above-beyond-flavor that we like. They even have a Build Your Own option, too!

Their Lighter Fare menu has great salad options for you to choose from though, and the serving size more than makes up for the price. The same can be said for the rest of their menu too! Their Build-Your-Own Pizza costs at least $20 at most for a large pan.

Pros

  • Authentic Japanese food
  • Lifetime Has a great variety of menu items
  • 1% of monthly revenue goes to charity
  • The tray menu is great value for money

Cons

  • Some items can be expensive

If you’re ever in Baytown and craving good Japanese food, then we recommend visiting Airi Ramen! Their food has that authentic touch and you can even customize their noodles, like real ramen shops in Japan!

They have a great ramen selection to choose from, but their 72-Hour Beef Ramen is the complete standout. Order it with firmer noodles and a side of seasoned egg plus gyoza, and you’ll be in for a treat!

What makes Airi Ramen unique compared to other Baytown restaurants is that you’re eating there for a good cause. Once percent of their monthly profits goes to charity and they’ve done it for a good couple of years now, too!

You can also get Airi Ramen for bulk orders, with plenty of options to choose from! Their Tray Beef Fried Rice is a great pick, but if you’re looking for more of a Katsudon type then their Chicken and Pork Tray Katsu is a good option as well.

Pros

  • Eat-all-you-can
  • Great prices
  • Senior and kids discounts available
  • Cheap buffet-to-go

Cons

  • Limited-time special coupons\

When it comes to eat-all-you-can restaurants in Baytown, Hibachi Grill & Buffet Restaurant comes in first! After all, they’ve been recognized as one of the Top 100 Asian Restaurants in the USA by the Chinese Restaurant Foundation Center in Newark!

Their prices are a big part of what makes them famous. Imagine having an eat-all-you-can dinner for $15.89, or lunch for $13. It’s a steal, especially for authentic Asian and American dishes.

But much like any other buffets, they will charge you per pound of your leftovers. However, you can also get them as takeouts for $5.50 which is a lot cheaper compared to other EAYC Baytown restaurants.

However, if you’re planning to secure some coupons for them then you’ll need to move quickly! Their coupons are only available for a limited time on their website, and you’ll need to print it out as well, which can be a tad inconvenient for some.

That being said though, you can still get huge discounts, even if you don’t have their coupons at hand – well, if you’re either a senior citizen or a kid, that is! The senior citizen discount isn’t much, you’ll only get at least a dollar off, but kids under 8 can eat for $9!

Pros

  • Accessible location
  • Partnered with delivery apps
  • Good flavor
  • Great variety of menu items

Cons

  • The menu is only available through delivery apps

If you’re looking for a Baytown restaurant that can deliver your favorite comfort food right at your doorstep, then King’s BBQ should be your choice! Not only is their Gartth Rd., location just by the street, but they’ve also partnered with delivery apps, too!

King’s BBQ has partnered up with Bentobox, DoorDash, and Toast to deliver their food to your doorstep. This can help you save time and effort of driving to their brick-and-mortar, for the compromise of a few bucks.

That being said though, they don’t have their full menu on their website, and you will have to rely on these apps to see what they have to offer. But once you do check them out, then you’re in for a great surprise!

King’s BBQ has lots – and we do mean lots – of items on their menu that are sold at a reasonable price with a large serving size too! The Brisket Chili Potato from the King’s Specials menu is our go-to at the moment, but the BBQ Baked Potato is a close second.

They also have daily specials, and you can get something different depending on the day! But for the best experience, we recommend visiting them on a Saturday for ther eat-all-you-can ribs!

8. Bocanegra’s Kitchen

Pros

  • Lots of daily specials
  • Great flavor on specialty dishes
  • Cheap prices
  • Lots of food options

Cons

  • Closed on Sundays

What we like the most about Bocanegra’s Kitchen is the sheer variety of food they have on their menu. They have everything to make them the ideal Baytown restaurant for Birrias – but they can also cater to those who are looking for something different, too!

Bocanegra’s Kitchen’s Birrias goes above and beyond our expectations, and the flavor is great, the Birria Egg Rolls, especially. You can also order their Burritos with Birria meat as well, which really goes well with the cheese sauce,

But if you’re not a fan of Birria, then they also have Ramen and Grilled Cheese on the menu too. And we know that the meat is optional, but for these two, we strongly recommend choosing chicken since it will be the best pairing for them!

The best thing about Bocanegra’s Kitchen though is that their food is relatively cheap when you compare them to other Baytown restaurants! Think $12 for either a large bowl of Ramen, a plate of Grilled Cheese, or the Birria Egg Roll. It’s worth it!

Really, the only nitpick that we do have about Bocanegra’s Kitchen is that they’re closed on Sundays – and that’s about it. Their prices, serving sizes, and flavor profile more than makes up for that fact, and we’ll take it!

9. Bayou City Wings

Score Consistency3/5

Pros

  • Rock chip repair Good variety on wing sauces
  • Vegetarian options available
  • Good flavor on drinks
  • Large servings available for large appetites!

Cons

  • Can get crowded on game night

If you’re looking for a Baytown restaurant where you can watch the latest game and just chill with your buddies, then we recommend trying out Bayou City Wings! You can even try out their creative food options at the same time, too!

As their name implies, wings are Bayou City Wings’s main claim to fame. But they’re so much more than that, and we recommend trying out their Buffalo Chicken Fries and the Doggy Dog Fries.

They also have more vegetarian-friendly options with their Pickle Chips and Fried Broccoli being the complete standout in that area. There’s more, but those two are the crispiest while still being delicious at the same time.

However, we do have to warn you that Bayou City Wings can get crowded on game nights – ESPECIALLY if the Cowboys happen to be playing that night. It’s still worth it to visit them on game nights, but we advise you to come earlier rather than later.

10. O’Neals Sportsbar & Grill On the Water

Pros

  • Great atmosphere
  • Eventual live music
  • Build Your Own Burger
  • Lots of menu options

Cons

  • Closed on Mondays and Tuesdays

O’Neals Sportsbar & Grill On the Water takes the name “Baytown” to the next level by being situated right alongside Tabba Bay! This gives them an atmosphere unlike any other Baytown restaurant out there.

When you dine at O’Neals Sportsbar & Grill On the Water, you get to sit near the water, with live music accompaniment, and the occasional sports game on the TV as well. And if that doesn’t sound like the perfect weekend, then we don’t know what is!

Their food doesn’t fall short too, since their menu has lots of options! But for us, if you want something that’s different from others, then they also have an option for you to Build Your Own Burger (yes, that’s right!) for $12!

And if you don’t feel like making and eating your burger creation, then we recommend the Combo Platter for the best compromise between flavor and assorted choices.

The only nitpick we have with O’Neals Sportsbar & Grill On the Water is that they’re closed on Mondays and Tuesdays. But in our opinion, their food and overall ambiance more than make up for this.
