Pros
- Stunning interior design
- Consistent and accommodating service
- Delicious bouchee pistachio macaroons
- Birthday-themed dessert platter
Cons
- Expensive
We’ve heard Bloom & Bee is the perfect destination for celebrating your birthday with friends and loved ones. So, when we were invited to attend a birthday dinner, we decided to see if they lived up to all the hype.
From the moment we walked into Bloom & Bee, we liked the stunning interior design that seamlessly merged the natural ambiance of a botanical garden with a modern, chic aesthetic. The air was filled with the sounds of music and laughter, creating an energy that was both exciting and inviting.
After being seated, we were quickly greeted by our server, who was attentive, professional, and knowledgeable about the menu. The service was top-notch throughout the night, with our server constantly checking in on us, keeping our drinks refilled, and suggesting delicious dishes to try.
Our orders of their sous vide grilled octopus and domestic lamb loin were perfectly executed and arrived piping hot and beautifully presented. We couldn’t help but take a moment to admire the eye-catching plating before diving in.
The food itself was nothing short of incredible. From the mouth-watering hors d’oeuvres and small plates to the hearty, fulfilling entrees, everything we tried was delicious.
And did we mention the desserts? They’re to die for! The bouchee pistachio macarons and their chocolate liegeois were both melts-in-your-mouth perfection.
In fact, we were so full by the end of the meal that we barely had room for the gorgeous, birthday-themed dessert platter!
But what truly set Bloom & Bee apart for us was their willingness to accommodate the birthday girl’s specific needs and preferences. She had some dietary restrictions, and our server went above and beyond to ensure that she had plenty of delicious options to choose from.
They even surprised her with a special birthday dessert that was completely tailored to her preferences.
The only drawback to having a birthday celebration at Bloom & Bee that we could see was the higher price point.

Pros
- Classy atmosphere
- Thoughtful birthday message
Cons
- Slow and inflexible customizing service
Many have claimed that The Palm is one of the classiest and most luxurious dining experiences, perfect for a lavish and memorable birthday celebration. So we made plans to host our birthday dinner there to test the claims.
Firstly, let us begin by expressing how we liked the fact that the moment we arrived, the staff was incredibly welcoming.
We thought the restaurant’s atmosphere was fantastic, with dim lighting and elegant decor that set the perfect mood for our special occasion. We were seated at a beautifully decorated table with a menu featuring our names and a thoughtful birthday message for us.
However, we noted that the service was a little slow and inattentive, with our server repeatedly forgetting to bring us drinks. We also didn’t like their inflexibility when it came to customizing a dinner menu, as they already have one preset for private events.
Despite this, though, we did enjoy their steak as their selection of cuts was vast. We enjoyed the Steak Alla Stone, which was perfectly cooked and served with delicious garlic mashed potatoes.
We also thought it was great that they brought out a beautiful dessert platter with candles and a personalized message, along with a complimentary glass of champagne to toast to the occasion.

Pros
- Elegant atmosphere
- Delicious garlic breadsticks
- Sweet and creamy tiramisu
Cons
- Table right by the kitchen
- Small and crowded bathrooms
We were told that birthdays at Damian’s Cucina Italiana are truly a one-of-a-kind experience. So when we went to celebrate a birthday, we aimed to see if what we were told were true.
From the moment we stepped inside, the vibrant, rustic interior transported us to another world. The atmosphere was cozy and romantic, with dim lighting and soft Italian music playing in the background.
We also liked that the decor was classic and elegant, creating what we thought was the perfect ambiance for a special occasion such as a birthday celebration.
Furthermore, we thought it was great that the menu was diverse and offered a range of classic Italian dishes, including handmade pasta dishes and fresh seafood options.
We started off with the antipasti platter, which was loaded with delicious prosciutto, cheeses, olives, and roasted peppers. We also thought the garlic breadsticks were to die for, as was the creamy burrata with avocado and cherry tomato confit we ordered.
For our main course, we tried the lobster ravioli and the ossobuco, both of which were packed with bold flavors and aromas. To top it all off, we had the tiramisu for dessert, which was the perfect sweet and creamy finish to our meal.
But what really set Damian’s apart was the service. Our waiter was attentive and knowledgeable, offering recommendations and ensuring that our drinks were always topped up.
They were also incredibly flexible and accommodating, as we had a few dietary restrictions in our group, and they were able to modify certain dishes to fit our needs without sacrificing any flavor or quality.
Unfortunately, not everything about our birthday celebration was perfect. Our table was right by the door to the kitchen, which made it difficult to enjoy our meal with the constant movement and noise.
We also found the bathrooms to be a bit small and crowded, which made it challenging for multiple members of our group to use them at once.

Pros
- Pecan brown butter rainbow trout
- Flexible and attentive staff
Cons
- Stuffy atmosphere
- 15% service charge
We recently went to Rainbow Lodge for a team member’s birthday lunch.
As soon as we entered, we were greeted by friendly, efficient staff who showed us to our table and offered us complimentary bread with a choice of butter, olive oil, or balsamic glaze.
It was a small gesture, but it made a big impact, as it set the tone for the rest of our experience—one marked by impeccable service and personal attention.
We liked that our server was attentive and knowledgeable without being overbearing, and the manager even made sure to check in on us throughout the meal, offering helpful suggestions and ensuring that our needs were met.
One aspect of Rainbow Lodge that we particularly thought was great was the flexibility when it came to accommodating the dietary restrictions within our team. A few of our team members are gluten-free, so we liked that the staff ensured that their dietary needs were a priority and not an inconvenience.
Furthermore, the food was on a whole different level. Their rainbow trout filet was delicious down to the very last bite.
We liked the addition of the pecan brown butter on top, as it gave the fish a tinge of sweetness.
As for what we didn’t like, we found the atmosphere a bit stuffy, and the place was rather crowded, making it difficult to have a private conversation. The noise level was also a bit high, which made it hard to fully enjoy the beautiful ambiance.
Additionally, the bill was rather hefty, even with the 15% service charge.

Pros
- Private room
- In-house event planner
- Customized menu
Cons
- $150 reservation fee
- Extra 20% gratuity fee
We recently held a birthday dinner for a member of our team at Abouzy.
For starters, there was a $150 fee to hold a private room. We noted that it was refundable.
Regardless, we liked that their private room was intimate and made us feel like we were in a wine cellar. While we could have had up to 32 people inside, we wanted the doors to be closed, so we were limited to only 16 people.
Despite that, one of the standout features of holding our team member’s birthday celebration at A’Bouzy was the level of customization offered. We thought it was great that the staff worked closely with us to create a personalized menu and special touches to make the celebration truly unique for our guest of honor.
What we liked the most was that their in-house event planner worked with us to create a cake with a personalized message, balloons, and decorations in our team member’s favorite colors and even helped us plan surprise gifts.
Some specific dishes on the menu at A’Bouzy stood out to us, but in the end, we requested custom seafood towers.
We liked that their seafood towers were filled with fresh and flavorful oysters, crab, and mussels. We also liked the extensive selection of champagne and sparkling wines they had.
The only downside to hosting our team member’s birthday celebration at A’Bouzy was the extra 20% gratuity fee added—not even including tax.
