Pros

  • Has meat-free options
  • Wide selection of burgers
  • Good prices
  • Serves halal meat

Cons

  • Limited parking space
  • Wobbly tables

Stanton’s City Bites has been around for around 45 years now. It was founded by Art Fond who turned their grocery store into a neighborhood burger shop.

This place is definitely more of a whole-in-the-wall with an old-school interior. Shops or restaurants don’t surround this place, so if you want to try them out, you’d have to go for a drive.

What we liked about Stnaton’s City Bites is how they have meat-free options. This is great for vegetarians who still want to come and try out the place.

They’ve also got a really wide selection of burgers. There’s definitely an option for everyone.

If you’re unsure of what to get, we’d recommend the Spicy Chipotle Burger if you want a little bit of a kick. You can also opt for the Miss Piggy Burger that’s filled with bacon, hashbrowns, and cheese.

They’ve also got pretty good prices compared to other burger joints nowadays. If you’re looking to save a few bucks, that’s a huge plus.

Another notable thing about them is that they also serve halal meat. Just make sure that you request it when they’re taking your order.

A downside definitely has to be their parking. They’ve only got 4 street-side parking slots up front so that can be difficult when they get busy.

Their tables are also a bit wobbly so they’re definitely in need of an upgrade on those.

Overall, if you’re looking for a wide array of burger options for a good price, definitely give Stanton’s City Bites a try.

Pros

  • Really expansive menu
  • They have gluten-free options

Cons

  • A bit pricier
  • Burgers are smaller

Hopdoddy was founded back in 2010. They’re a bit different from your usual burger joint as they’ve also got a bar.

They now have over 10 locations in multiple states. They’ve also received a lot of nationwide attention with their burgers being mentioned in Rachel Ray’s Magazine.

What we liked about Hopdoddy’s Burger Bar is how they have such a wide and expansive menu. They’ve got all types of burgers, shakes, a kid’s menu, and more.

If you’re looking for a burger recommendation, definitely try out their Magic Shroom. It’s got a whole lot of goat cheese, pesto sauce, and mushrooms that just blend so well together.

We also appreciated how they have a whole lot of gluten-free options. They’ve got a separate gluten-free menu but you can also request it for their main menu.

A downside is that the food is a bit pricier compared to other burger joints. You might want to look out for the different promos that they have if you want to save money.

If you’re looking to get a bit more with your money, you could also come in during their happy hour. They’ve got a whole lot of drink options that can keep you filled.

In terms of serving, the burgers are definitely a bit smaller. However, the taste really makes them worth it.

Pros

  • Great menu
  • Exceptional food quality
  • A lot of healthy options

Cons

  • Food offerings are on the pricier side
  • Shared cooking and preparation areas

True Food Kitchen founded in Phoenix back in 2008. They now have multiple branches in over 17 states across the U.S.

What makes them stand out is how they don’t offer your typical heaping portions of comfort food filled with starchy and processed ingredients.

True Food Kitchen was based on the anti-inflammatory food pyramid. They’re a restaurant that provides nutritious and energizing healthy food.

What we liked about them is how they have so many food offerings. Aside from their burgers and entrees, they’ve also got cocktails, tea, and coffee.

Their food quality is exceptional. You can really taste how fresh the ingredients are and even if you grab a burger, you don’t feel stuffy or full afterward.

They have a whole lot of healthy options on their menu so if you’re trying to eat clean, this is a huge benefit.

Now, they offer three different burgers and the one we’d recommend would be the grass-fed burger. It’s extremely juicy and you can taste how fresh the mushrooms and the sweet potatoes are.

Do take note that their food is on the pricier side so it’s not a quick lunch spot type of place.

They’ve also got shared cooking and preparation areas so your food may come into contact with other food products. Definitely try to call ahead if you’ve got any allergies or specific diets.

Overall, if you’re looking for a great burger spot without the guilt, True Food Kitchen is the way to go.

Pros

  • Really affordable
  • Unique atmosphere

Cons

  • No delivery
  • Cash-only establishment
  • No indoor seating area

Cream Burger has been in business for over 60 years. This place is a family-owned business that opened back in September 1961 in Houston’s Third Ward.

This isn’t one of your typical fast-food joints. Cream Burger is a place that’s filled with a lot of memories for a lot of people as they’ve been around for so long.

This place has got more of a whole-in-the-wall type of vibe to it. They offer a couple of burgers, hot dogs, floats, shakes, and ice cream.

The best part is that all of their menu items are really affordable. A recommendation definitely has to be their chili cheeseburger which feels like a hot dog and hamburger combination.

They’ve also got a really unique atmosphere. It’s the type of place to go to if you’re looking to just grab a quick bite or just enjoy the outside.

Speaking of, they’ve only got outdoor seating. You can still dine in but don’t expect to eat at an air-conditioned place.

It’s rather unfortunate as well that they don’t have delivery. You’d really have to drive all the way if you’re looking to try out their food.

Also, make sure to bring some cash with you as they’re a cash-only establishment. Having other payment options would be a lot more convenient but their prices aren’t too hefty.

Overall, if you’re feeling like going to a burger place that’s got a whole-in-the-wall vibe to it, try giving Cream Burger a shot.

Pros

  • Cheap prices
  • Big servings

Cons

  • They only accept cash
  • Smaller indoor area

Someburger was founded back in the mid-1940s. For a time in the 60s they had over 40 locations but at present, they only have 2 branches left.

If you’re looking for a no-frills burger spot, this is the place for you. They offer burgers, shakes, and tacos.

For recommendations, you should try their onion rings. They’re lightly breaded with great flavor packed into them.

For the burger, the single patty is simple but extremely satisfying. The patty has a decent thickness and is paired with a lot of fries.

Also, make sure that you don’t miss out on their strawberry shake as it’s a great pairing with any of their menu items.

We really loved how they have really cheap prices, especially when you take into consideration their large servings.

Do take note, however, that they only accept cash. This might be a huge hassle for those who happen to stop by but don’t have any cash on them.

Also, don’t expect a large indoor seating area. They do have a couple of picnic tables nearby where you can sit and eat but it isn’t anything fancy.

Overall, Someburger is a great burger joint option for those who want a no-fuss quick bite.
