Selected Benefits, Inc. has been providing insurance for individuals, families, and groups in Texas since 2002. They say they aim to “simplify the health insurance process.”

Well, the first thing we noticed is that they offer a good range of insurance coverages, including accidental injury, critical illness, and health saving accounts policies. They also offer group health plans for businesses.

We really like the range of their services. We especially like how they work closely with you to find the best plan for your specific needs, whether you’re alone, with your family, or business.

They work with a lot of the largest insurance carriers in the country, by the way. These include but are not limited to Aetna, Blue Cross Blue Shield, Cigna, UnitedHealthcare, Humana One.

By Texas law, you pay them the same rate you would pay if you purchase directly from an insurer. This means that their services are free on your end, which is obviously something we won’t complain about!

They’re open 24 hours, which we find really convenient for people with irregular or busy schedules. We recommend giving them a call to set up an appointment before coming in, even so.

Also worth noting is that they have a very high customer satisfaction rating. This means that their clients continue to trust in their expertise and their work.

Their customer service responses are prompt and knowledgeable. They immediately picked up on our calls, greeted us with kindness, and professionally gave us the information we needed.

Kim Anh Insurance represents all the major health insurance carriers. These include Aetna, Amerigroup, Blue Cross Blue Shield, Cigna-Healthspring, Wellcare (Texanplus), Humana, and UnitedHealthcare.

She specializes in Medicare and Obamacare, by the way. If you’re interested in learning more about these plans, she can definitely help you.

Her plans cover health, life, and afterlife insurance. It’s not the biggest range, we think, so if you want to learn about other services, you might want to reach out elsewhere.

On the upside, she’s bilingual, meaning she can accommodate you in English or Vietnamese. We think this is fantastic for people who may be more comfortable speaking in their mother tongue – Vietnamese insurance agents aren’t exactly common here!

Do note, however, that the agency’s website is in Vietnamese by default, which can be intimidating or confusing if you don’t know the language. This makes the agency’s services look like they cater only to Vietnamese-speakers, when in fact they deal with many other people.

They made this very clear to us when we called. They were very friendly and accommodating, and gave us all the information we needed.

Anyway, the agency has a great customer satisfaction rating on Google, which we like. 

They also have pretty standard operating hours during the work week – and if weekends work better for you, you can set an appointment on Saturday as well, like we did.

TMT Insurance Group has over two decades of experience in Texas. They offer individual health insurance, group health insurance, Medicare, Medicaid, and more. 

They offer health insurance from most of the big carriers too. These include UnitedHealthcare, Aetna, Ambetter, Blue Cross Blue Shield, Molina, and Cigna.

It’s definitely not the biggest range out there, but it’s respectable. If you want to learn more about other carriers before deciding, though, we recommend checking out the other agencies on this list.

Anyway, we also really appreciated how informative their website was about health insurance, deductibles, plans, and coverage. This really helped us learn as much as we can before heading in.

We visited one of their offices and saw why people say their agents are kind, patient, and professional. A lot of the clients we talked to have been loyal to them for years, which is as good a testament as any.

However, we should note that some people did say that their customer service can be difficult sometimes. Some mentioned reaching out to them for help and never hearing back, and even though this wasn’t our experience, it bears noting.

Finally, TMT is open daily from 9AM-6PM. This means that it should be pretty easy to reach them even if you have a busy work week.

Clark Health Insurance is a family-run health insurance agency based in Houston. They want to help their clients make sense of all the complicated processes for health insurance.

We do wish their website were a little more informative and easy to navigate. They don’t provide a lot of information about their services, so we decided to give them a call.

Luckily, their customer service lines are pretty prompt with their responses. You should have no problems no reaching them and learning more about them.

We really appreciate the way the Clarks were able to walk us through our options and plans in very clear ways. They are knowledgeable, straightforward, and friendly.

We like this a lot because we understand how confusing and intimidating insurance can be. If you need any help with that, the Clarks are great at explaining.

If you like a more personal and intimate approach, their family-run business should be perfect for you. However, if you’re looking for a bigger business, there are other options on this list.

They have good hours during the work week, meaning you can probably swing by after work if you need to. They’re also open from 9AM-2PM on Saturdays if that works better for you.

Katherine Nguyen is a licensed health insurance agent and advisor. According to her website, her priority is to help you make the best possible decisions.

She works with self-employed individuals, families, and small businesses. It’s a good range for a small, more intimate business, if that’s what you’re after.

However, if you’re looking to get financial protection or advice for your larger business, you might want to look somewhere else.

You can subscribe to her email newsletters which share a lot of information about health and financial advice. We think this is great for people who are interested in those topics.

We like how personable Katherine is. According to her clients, she puts in the effort to really get to know you and make sure you’re comfortable in trusting her, and we can’t help but agree.

She’s really great at explaining what’s happening with your current plan and identifying alternatives that may be better for you. A lot of her clients are really grateful for this.
