Pros
- Has attractions for toddlers, bigger kids, and adults
- Offers free entrance for up to 2 adults per child
Cons
- Only allows a short preparation period for birthday parties
- Outside food isn’t allowed inside
Located 3 blocks from Houston Space Center, The Play Space provides their patrons with multiple attractions that the whole family can enjoy.
We love that this place has 3 play areas for toddlers, kids, and teenagers. With this, you won’t need to worry about your bigger kids not having a chance to enjoy this play space.
The play area for babies and toddlers has miniature hospitals, restaurants, and the like for pretend play. Also, the whole area is covered with foam-like material to provide a cushion if the kids bump their heads or fall down the slides.
Meanwhile, their main play area is a space-themed obstacle course with different climbing areas, slides, trampolines, and tunnels. Your kids will surely enjoy running around and playing with their peers here.
Lastly, this indoor playground also has an arcade area full of classic games like air hockey and stuffed toy cranes. You can even win tickets here, which can be swapped for goodies and prizes.
While they have a wide range of play areas to choose from, we’ve heard that they only give their patrons a short time to prepare when it comes to birthday parties hosted here.
Also, the company doesn’t allow outside food here. So, you might need to spend extra on their snack bar when playing here.
Nevertheless, it’s amazing that The Play Space provides free passes for 2 adults per child, saving parents up to $20 in entrance fees.

Pros
- Caters specifically to kids with sensory-processing disorders
- Their play area and toys are designed for sensory training
- Has an in-person child therapist to assist kids during play
Cons
- Play areas are smaller than others
- The opening hours are sometimes inconsistent
It’s praiseworthy that We Rock the Spectrum Kid’s Gym in Houston Memorial is famous for their focus on providing a friendly and safe play space for children with special needs.
Their play space is designed for kids of all ability levels. This mixed play is essential so children who experience difficulties in sensory processing can learn to socialize with their peers.
When it comes to their play areas, the playground has much fun equipment like ziplines and climbing walls. The great aspect of these is it prepares kids for sensory training.
Note that children with sensory-processing disorders may have strong reactions to certain sensations like sound and texture. Training them to process these will help them adjust to the sensory input from their environment.
On the other hand, some parents noted that the play area is a bit small. With this, the place may get overbooked quicker than most indoor playgrounds in the area.
Also, there are certain instances when the playground’s hours are inconsistent, preventing some families from taking their children to their play areas.
The reason behind the unavailability is events booked by other families. Since they have a tinier play area, they can’t resume normal operations when there are parties.
Still, it’s great that We Rock the Spectrum Kid’s Gym has a child therapist on standby at this playground to observe the children who are present in the gym. In case a child experiences sensory overload, they can help address their needs.

Pros
- Conveniently located inside Memorial City Mall
- Has a whimsical, medieval castle theme
- Free entrance
Cons
- Has a maximum height limit for kids who want to play
- The play area can be a bit crowded during peak hours
If your family is shopping in Memorial City Mall, you can visit Frolic’s Castle for a fun playtime for your little ones.
We like that this soft play area has a design of a magical medieval castle filled with whimsical fairy tale creatures, including dragons, fairies, wizards, and others. It has 3 levels of playing space, with most of it inside the foam castle.
There are also interactive fixtures here, like snoring giants and bubbling cauldrons, which we think can teach your child about basic sounds. These attractions can also enhance the whole play experience as it makes kids feel like they’re in a fictional tale.
After playing, you can rest under the enchanted tree where you can read stories with your child while cooling down. This provides a wonderful opportunity to enhance your child’s listening and reading skills.
However, parents need to note that the play area is only reserved for children under 4 feet tall. If your kid has a height above that, the staff won’t let them in.
Some parents also said that the playground can get a bit crowded from 10:00 A.M. until the afternoon. We suggest playing in the early morning as there are only a few kids playing during that time.
Still, Frolic’s Castle doesn’t have an entrance fee, enabling parents to bond with their children without spending a single dollar.

Pros
- Has many trampoline-themed activities for children and teens
- Occasionally provide patrons with discounts and promos
Cons
- The staff are a bit lax in terms of cleaning some areas
- Online pricing for party reservations sometimes aren’t accurate
iRise Trampoline & Fun Park proves that indoor playgrounds aren’t just for kids. Sometimes, even adults and kids at heart can enjoy jumping around on trampolines all day.
What we like about this play space is the wide variety of amenities available here. You can choose from their main playground, ninja park, slam dunk area, dodgeball pits, kids’ zone, and the ValoJump Experience.
Most of these attractions are available for all ages. However, the staff strongly advises the parents to accompany their children at all times, especially in areas designed for adults.
In Adventure Park, your kids can slide and swim on the foam ball pits and jump on the mesh trampolines with other kids. Meanwhile, the kids’ zone has a mini village for lighter play for babies and toddlers.
We also love the adult-centered attractions like the sports areas. Here, teens and parents can practice their dunking and dodgeball skills with the help of trampolines to provide an extra edge on these classic ball games.
Also, you can try your luck in navigating their obstacle course filled with hanging platforms and swingers. There’s also the ValoJump where one can play interactive video games like Super Mario using trampolines.
However, there are times when the staff missed some spots when cleaning up, which leaves some debris and stray wrappers under the trampolines.
Also, it’s a bit inconvenient to book parties here as the prices online sometimes don’t match the actual booking fees.
Still, iRise Trampoline & Fun Park occasionally runs promos and discounted rates, especially during holidays. This is a wonderful opportunity for you to save some cash if you choose to go here.

Pros
- Their play area has a familiar vibe with many amenities
- Has a dance floor for parties
- The entrance fee is valid for the whole day unlike on other play spaces
Cons
- Difficult to secure parking spots
- Has no system to separate kids by age
Kids Empire Houston Westchase is an indoor playground franchise that specializes in giving families a venue to play and enjoy during their free time.
We adore their soft, multicolored play area with 2 levels of attractions. Here, kids and their parents can use the amenities like the slides, ball pits, and mazes for an exciting play date with the family.
There are specialty attractions around the facility in case your kids get tired of sliding around the play area. For example, they can ride in the go-carts and zoom around the area with an accompanying adult.
Also, during nighttime, the staff will turn off the lights and invite everyone to the dance floor where kids can play with a mascot and dance with other people. The vibe here is even livelier when there are birthday parties!
Just note that finding a parking spot here can be a bit of a hassle as they have a tiny parking lot. Parents may need to wait longer during peak times like weekends or holidays.
Also, this indoor playground has no clear system for separating toddlers and bigger kids. Thus, parents need to always watch their kids to prevent accidents while playing with older ones.
Despite that, the passes at Kids Empire Houston Westchase are available for the whole day. This setup lets you come back for more playtime, unlike some playgrounds that have a time limit for playing.
