Pros
- Christian-based (for families who prefer that)
- Internet-cameras in classrooms
Cons
- No promos at the present
Bell’s Little Angels is a childcare and preschool on Roseda Drive. They have programs for Pre-K2, Pre-K3, Pre-K4, and Pre-K5.
According to their website, their “A-Beka curriculum is accredited, advanced, and Christian-based. This is great for those who want a Christian education for their child.
Also worth noting is that they have internet-cameras installed in every classroom so that parents can view their child from work. We like this for parents who might get some peace of mind from seeing their kid.
The parents we reached out to absolutely loved their experience with Bell’s Little Angels. They say their children learned to be confident, kind, and studious.
They also said the staff is kind and compassionate. A big majority mentioned their child was absolutely prepared for Kindergarten, thanks to Bell’s Little Angels.
A small number of parents did say their customer service could be a little difficult sometimes. They said that there would often be a delay in responses.
This can be really inconvenient to deal with for busy parents, so we took some points off for that.

Pros
- Toddlers to elementary school
- Top 20% most students of color
- Excellent front desk service
Cons
- Expensive tuition
Smaller Scholars Montessori Academy is a private school operating in Houston since 1985. They are well-liked by the families in the area.
Their toddler program takes children from 18 months to 3 years of age. They also have primary and elementary school for bigger kids, if you’d like the consistency.
We like this because this could make your child’s transition into ‘big school’ easier. They’d already know the small community of students and staff at the school.
They have half-days from 9AM-12NN, school days from 9AM-3:30PM, and full days from 7AM-6PM. We like that you have options so you can choose one that suits your schedule best.
It’s also quite a diverse school, ranking among the top 20% of Texas private schools for the highest percentage of students in color.
We think this is great because it makes children more comfortable and open to interacting with each other. They’ll be more willing to learn from each other.
Being a private school, tuition can definitely be a little up there. But the parents we reached out to loved the education, and even often praised their great front desk service.

Pros
- Enrichment programs
- Cognia accredited
- Great facilities
Cons
- Intransparent costs
The Goddard School of Houston (Energy Corridor) is a preschool and daycare for young kids. They have classrooms for Infants, First Steps, Toddlers, Get Set, Pre-School, and Pre-K.
One thing we love about The Goddard School is that they have so many enrichment programs. These allow your child to explore hobbies and passions that may help with their education.
Some include art history, dance, engineering, nutrition, physical fitness, and yoga. There are also programs for second language learning, American sign language, and music appreciation.
They’re accredited by Cognia Global Commission for 2019-2024. This means their education is trusted and respected by a professional board, which we appreciate.
The parents we reached out to praised the school’s staff for being so patient and loving. They also say the facilities are very well-maintained.
However, some people we reached out to didn’t like their customer service. Some said they were difficult to talk to, and that they wouldn’t give tuition estimates over the phone, among other things.
We appreciate transparency when it comes to costs, so we don’t love that. It can be really inconvenient for people who may not be able to go in-person during the enrollment period.

Pros
- STEAM-based learning, foreign language, and character development
- Extracurriculars like soccer, gymnastics, and dance
Cons
- Expensive tuition
- Long waitlist
Oak Forest Academy has six programs called Infants, Toddlers, Two’s, pre-kindergarten 3-4, and Kindergarten Readiness.
It’s a pretty new school, having opened in 2020. Their website says they “combine proven approaches to early education with innovative ideas,” which we asked parents about (more on that later).
At any rate, they have programs for character development, STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, Math) based learning, and foreign language. They also have extracurriculars like soccer, gymnastics, and dance.
We love that the children can be exposed to different subjects that may interest them. This means they get to explore different fields with curiosity.
The parents we reached out to also said that they loved the innovative education their children got, calling it less rigid than others. They say the atmosphere is warm and loving, and as a plus, the facilities are kept incredibly clean.
Their tuition costs average at around $1500 a month. It’s definitely not the most affordable, so if it’s out of budget you might want to look at other options.
We should also note that there is often a long waitlist for student admissions. We understand that it’s a highly recommended school, but some people may find the waitlist inconvenient.

Pros
- Language immersion school
- Summer and spring break camps
- Online language programs
Cons
- Expensive tuition
- Delays in responses
Crossing Borders Preschool is a family-owned immersion school in Houston. It’s particularly great for students who want to learn a second language, such as Spanish.
There are bilingual teaching materials for English, Spanish, Mandarin, and French. This also means that they have students from diverse cultures everywhere.
We like this because it allows children from different backgrounds to feel more comfortable. It also exposes the children to different perspectives from an early age.
They have programs for toddlers, preschool, and kindergarten children. They also have summer and spring break camps, which can be really convenient for working parents.
One of our favorite things about them is that they offer online language learning programs as well. This is great for those who may want or have to learn from home.
The parents we reached out to said they love the atmosphere their child learns in. They said it was a safe space for learning from each other.
However, some of them did say that the tuition is pretty high up there. If you’re looking to save on costs, you might want to look at other options.
Some parents also said customer service wasn’t that great, and it’s hard to schedule a meeting. We took points off for that, because it can be a real inconvenience for your time.
