The Top 5 Refrigerator Repair Companies in Houston

The Top 5 Refrigerator Repair Companies In Houston

How We Picked:

Customer Service: Immediately accessible customer service and appliance maintenance are essential features for every successful refrigerator repair business. We looked for companies with staff that strived to respond rapidly to client requests.
Expertise: We believe the top Houston refrigerator repair technicians should be able to fix any common household equipment. Hence, we selected companies that offer other appliance repair services as well.
Professionalism: We chose refrigerator repair companies with employees that act professionally and greet customers with friendliness and zeal. Because of this, customers can rest easy knowing their homes are in good hands during maintenance.
Warranty: Even after repairs, some home appliances may fail again. Therefore, we selected businesses that back up their work with warranty services.

Pros

  • Professional customer service
  • Respectful technician
  • Detailed explanations

Cons

  • Service call fee charged

A&A Appliance Repair services Houston and the surrounding areas for any household appliance repair needs.

The company can fix any major appliance, including refrigerators, dishwashers, washing machines, dryers, garbage disposers, stoves, microwaves, and more, the very same day you call—well, at least that’s what they claim.

To verify these claims, our client utilized their services to repair their broken refrigerator.

First of all, they liked how easy it was to contact their customer service and schedule a service appointment. The customer service representatives at A&A Appliance Repair were professional with our client over the phone and patient.

Yet, our client did not like how their initial service visit came with a fee.

Despite this, the repair technician arrived on time, knowledgeable, and respectful when relaying the issues with the refrigerator to our client. Our client liked how they explained in detail and demonstrated what they would do to fix the problem.

However, our client also noted that the refrigerator technician advised against replacing one of their broken parts until the refrigerator stopped working as well. This advice may have been due to the overall refrigerator quality still being in good condition.

Regardless of the suggested advice, our client liked how the technician thoroughly cleaned the refrigerator coils before leaving and fixed the original clog in the icebox.

Pros

  • Three year warranty
  • 24 hour emergency repair
  • Helpful suggestions

Cons

  • Costly replacement parts
  • Repair times for parts vary

Allen’s Appliances is known in the community for its free service calls when clients get their refrigerators repaired and same-day services. Their staff can check refrigerators that take too long to cool or have unstable temperatures.

During the service calls, their technicians display professionalism in their dealings with their clients by being courteous and waiting if the client is busy.

After diagnosing the problem, we like how if the technicians have the needed parts, they repair the fridge right then and there. If there is another undetected issue, we like how their professionals will let you know about the issue and fix it as quickly as possible.

However, if parts have to be ordered, there may be a possible gap in time for the refrigerator to be repaired.

We also like how their technicians keep their clients informed as they accurately describe the problem and what will be done to fix it.

They also make helpful suggestions, such as not plugging the refrigerator into a surge protector as it reduces the fridge’s life.

Additionally, we also like how they provide 24-hour emergency services and can repair all makes and models of refrigerators. Plus, they offer a 3-year warranty on appliance parts ordered through them.

The downside to ordering parts through them, though, is most of the parts are overcharged compared to purchasing them elsewhere.

Pros

  • Professional technicians
  • Can self-order replacement parts
  • Sells new refrigerators

Cons

  • Not same day repair
  • Unreliable communication
  • Service call fee

Same Day Appliance Repair Houston has professional refrigerator repair technicians who supposedly come out to fix any of your refrigerator issues on the same day.

While they claim to provide same-day service, our observations of their company prove this claim inaccurate. For same-day service repairs, the refrigerators need to be minor repairs without any parts needing to be ordered.

Regarding other repairs, they can be unreliable regarding the time their technicians show up and don’t make an effort to communicate with their clients.

Moreover, we don’t like how Same Day Appliance Repair Houston doesn’t tell their clients when they make the initial call that they charge a service call fee. We think this service call fee may be due to the technician’s transportation expenses.

Despite these things, we do like how their repair technicians demonstrate professionalism and comprehensively explain any issues your refrigerator may have.

Such as if the icebox needs replacing or if the computer board of the refrigerator is damaged.

We also like how the refrigerator repair technicians give you the option of ordering any replacement parts yourself. On the other hand, if you’re looking for a complete refrigerator replacement, we like how they also sell new ones at their company.

Pros

  • BBB accredited
  • Military and senior discounts available
  • Specialize in refrigerator repair
  • Honest technicians

Cons

  • Expensive prices
  • Additional service call fees

For almost two decades, Appliance Home Service has served the Houston area by fixing broken appliances in people’s homes. They are insured and specialize in refrigerator and Sub Zero appliance maintenance and repair.

Appliances such as freezers, ice makers, ovens, microwaves, and dryers can also be repaired.

What we found notable about Appliance Home Service is that they are BBB-accredited and offer discounts to both active military members and older citizens. Additionally, they install only brand-new, high-quality components backed by manufacturer warranties.

Furthermore, we liked how a refrigerator repair technician would make their way to their client’s home immediately after initial contact with their company.

Their technicians thrive in terms of technical expertise, efficiency, and output. We noted how their technicians could address the underlying issue with a damaged refrigerator in a mere fifteen minutes.

We also liked their technicians’ professionalism and honesty when communicating with clients. They don’t try to be dishonest about their service prices either, which are far from fair but understandable for the amount of time a refrigerator repair may take.

However, we also noted that if the problem is not fixed in that same service call and the repair technician needs to return, then clients are charged an additional service call fee – which we believe is a little too close to overcharging.

Pros

  • Easy to contact
  • Efficient second technician (in our case)

Cons

  • Sometimes unhelpful customer service
  • Incorrect first diagnosis (in our case)
  • Double fees

Those we spoke with about Uptown Appliance Repair claimed their technicians prioritized customer satisfaction above all else.

To verify these claims, our client used Uptown Appliance Repair’s services for their refrigerator repairs.

At first, our client had a satisfactory experience with Uptown Appliance Repair. Getting a hold of Uptown Appliance Repair was easy as they answered on the first call, but our client’s experience went downhill from there.

For one, given the information shared at the time of scheduling, our client found the phone operator extremely unhelpful and unreasonable.

Moreover, while our client did like how the technicians arrived on time, the initial refrigerator technician’s incorrect diagnosis led our client to believe that the necessary repairs would effectively destroy the refrigerator.

Upon our client contacting Uptown Alliance to complain, they did send another technician who was efficient in their breakdown of the problems and the repair process. He even showed our client the damage he had fixed.

In addition to detailing his steps as he went along, our client also liked how he offered advice on how to best maintain the refrigerator in the future.

Yet, at the end of the service call, our client received an invoice with an increase in labor fees from the original quoted price. This could be due to the company sending another refrigerator repair technician to our client’s home.
