Pros

  • Excellent treatment methods for rheumatic diseases
  • Efficient initial checkup process
  • Offers same-day appointments

Cons

  • Hectic scheduling process
  • New patients are having difficulties getting appointment dates

Dr. Zohair Abbas’ area of expertise lies in providing relief treatment for people suffering from rheumatic disease.

The great thing about this doctor is his systematic treatment process. Before the patient goes to his clinic, the staff reminds them to fill out the necessary forms so they won’t have to wait longer in line during the checkup.

When the patient arrives, the nurses physically assist them towards the doctor’s office, standing by in case they need help while walking. If needed, they’ll also bring out wheelchairs for patients having difficulties moving.

During the checkup, we commend Dr. Abbas for taking the time to interview patients regarding their conditions. He also thoroughly answers questions about the patient’s condition and the treatment process for it.

In terms of Dr. Abbas’ procedures, his clinic has an infusion therapy facility where the doctor administers rheumatic drugs intravenously, which quickly relieves pain and swelling of the joints for those with gout or arthritis.

While the doctor has a wonderful checkup process, their clinic’s scheduling process is a bit inconvenient. Aside from the lack of people answering the phone, there are also instances when they won’t reply to emails or messages.

In addition, some new patients also complain about them receiving their initial checkup dates a bit later than usual.

Still, it’s wonderful that the clinic of Dr. Zohair Abbas, MD offers same-day appointments for his patients. In case the patient is in pain, they could readily go to their infusion therapy room immediately after the checkup.

Pros

  • Detailed physical exams
  • Delicate when examining patients
  • Helps patients secure their health insurance claims

Cons

  • Some patients felt like the exams are a bit rushed
  • Doesn’t call or message patients regarding appointment cancellations

What we like about Dr. Tareq Abou-Khamis’ treatment process is his attention to detail when performing physical exams.

During the initial visit, Dr. Abou-Khamis first questions his patients about all the symptoms that they were feeling. Once he takes note of these, he spends the remainder of the session looking for physical signs of joint disease and others.

The doctor meticulously notes abnormalities in the affected area, including discoloration, swelling, and unusual warmth. It’s also great that he tests for things like pain response, reflexes, and limb strength.

The carefulness that Dr. Abou-Khamis shows when doing these exams is also commendable. If ever he needs to touch a part of the body, he does it in such a way that the patient won’t experience much pain, especially for those with swollen joints.

Although Dr. Abou-Khamis is thorough when it comes to physical exams, there are times when his explanations to patients are a bit rushed. This practice might leave some confused about the findings, especially if the patient has little knowledge of medicine.

We also think it’s inconvenient that the doctor’s staff sometimes forget to notify their patients about appointment cancellations.

Still, Dr. Tareq Abou-Khamis, MD always makes sure that the patient’s insurance claim is complete by quickly providing records. This is especially helpful in making the billing process smoother.

  • Elaborate treatment plans for managing patients’ rheumatic diseases
  • Provides multiple alternatives in case her plans don’t work

Cons

  • Long waiting time during appointments
  • Sometimes unreachable for questions

It’s wonderful how Dr. Holly J. Jones helps patients manage chronic rheumatic disorders, especially high-maintenance ones like osteoporosis.

With her expertise in both rheumatology and internal medicine, Dr. Jones creates treatment plans for her patients to efficiently manage their illnesses with ease. These pieces of advice enable patients to live their life with minimal interruptions.

Before creating these, the doctor first asks patients to undergo screening, which includes physical exams, laboratory tests, and imaging tests like x-rays and MRI procedures

These procedures help Dr. Jones personalize the plans based on the makeup of her clients’ bodies. For example, she asks people suffering from gout to insulate their big toe to limit its movement and prevent sharp pain whenever pressure is applied.

Most of the doctor’s patients describe Dr. Jones’ method of explanation as seamless. Even if she uses complex medical terms, the doctor provides some clarifying details to break it down further in a simpler way.

Despite these excellent appointments, it often takes at least 1 to 3 hours of waiting time before the patients can see the doctor. Some also found it difficult to reach the doctor’s phone for further questions.

Regardless, It’s great that Dr. Holly J. Jones, MD provides multiple alternatives when her treatment plans aren’t working. Aside from changes in medicine, she also provides advice on small things like specific food intake and walking style.

Pros

  • Focuses on managing symptoms of autoimmune diseases
  • Attentive when listening to patients’ concerns

Cons

  • Calls to his office sometimes go straight to voicemail
  • The clinic is often busy, resulting in long wait times

Dr. Alfredo Sardinas Jr. shines in the field of autoimmune diseases, especially in its detection and management.

We’re amazed at the doctor’s expertise when it comes to explaining the conditions to patients. Besides the treatment approach, he also points out warning signs that indicate the worsening of these conditions.

For example, the doctor always reminds his patients suffering from Sjögren’s syndrome to always watch out for white oral thrush. This is because the white film is a sign that your immune system is attacking your salivary glands, resulting in a yeast infection,

On the other hand, patients describe Dr. Sardinas Jr. as someone always available to listen to his patients’ plights.  The doctor always has some words of encouragement, making sure that these patients won’t feel down due to their disease.

Note that some people might develop anxiety and depression due to their fear of their disease. Because of that, we think it’s important for doctors to constantly support their patients, especially in terms of educating them.

Although, there are instances of calls to this clinic being left unanswered, which is annoying for those who need this doctor’s services.

The wait time at this clinic is also slow because of the huge number of patients going to this facility.

Still, we like that Dr. Alfredo Sardinas Jr. always makes sure that his patients are at ease before the checkup starts by letting them talk about their day. He does this to calm the nerves of his patients, especially the new ones.
