Panera Bread is a total mood. It’s got all the cozy vibes of a neighborhood café, but with an extensive menu that’ll make your mouth water.
We’re talking fresh, healthy options that are totally satisfying.
The salads at Panera were next level, and the soups and sandwiches were top-notch. We enjoyed the ingredients because they were fresh and high-quality, and the flavor combinations were spot-on.
We loved that they’re always changing things up, too. One day we’ll be devouring a classic turkey sandwich, and the next we’re all about the BBQ chicken flatbread.
We don’t know how they do it, but the folks at Panera always made us feel like family. Whether we’re grabbing a quick coffee on the way to work or settling in for a leisurely lunch, we always left feeling happy and cared for.
However, Panera is a bit pricier than some of the soup joints out there, which bummed us out.
In addition, if you’re looking for a fancy dining experience with reservations and waiter service, keep on walking. Panera is all about no frills, no fuss, just good eats.
Despite these hiccups, we’re big fans of Panera Bread. It’s the perfect spot for a quick slurp or a catch-up with friends.

Pros
- Casual dining
- Accepts credit cards
Cons
- Limited soup options
- Does not accept Apple Pay
We recently checked out Celestial Soups, and let’s just say we were over the moon about our experience.
From classic chicken noodle to more exotic options like lobster bisque, there was something for every taste bud. We particularly loved their vegan options, which were just as flavorful as their meat-based counterparts.
Speaking of flavor, Celestial Soups knocked it out of the park. Each soup had a unique and delicious blend of spices and seasonings that had us slurping up every last drop.
We felt like we were on a flavor journey through the galaxy, discovering new tastes and textures with each spoonful.
The staff were also friendly, knowledgeable, and eager to recommend their favorite soups.
We know Houston can be expensive, but Celestial Soups won’t break your bank because their prices are reasonable.
However, we were bummed about the limited soup options on the menu. Don’t get us wrong, the ones they had were great, but we were hoping for a more expansive selection.
We’re also a bit disappointed because they don’t accept Apple Pay. It could be a big inconvenience for customers who just prefer to tap and go.
Overall, we give Celestial Soups two thumbs up, or should we say, two rockets up? Their menu, flavor, customer service, and cost are all out of this world.

Pros
- Vegan options
- Offers takeout
- Full bar
- Waiter service
Cons
- Not pet-Friendly
- Does not accept Apple Pay
The moment we walked into Kenny & Ziggy’s New York Delicatessen, we felt like we had stepped into an episode of Masterchef. The decor is modern, and the menu is bursting with soup favorites.
We ordered the Chicken Soup, and oh my gosh, it was the bomb! The meat was juicy, tender, and bursting with flavor.
We couldn’t get enough of the crispy pickle slices that came with it, and we found ourselves daydreaming about it long after our meal.
The staff were genuinely interested in making sure we enjoyed our soup. They even gave us recommendations for our next visit, and we’re already planning our return trip.
But sorry pet lovers, I’ve to break the bad news — Kenny & Ziggy’s isn’t pet-friendly. While the pastrami sandwich might make your taste buds wag their tails, your furry friends will have to wait outside.
And for Apple Pay enthusiasts, you’ll have to leave your wallet at home for this one — Kenny & Ziggy’s doesn’t accept Apple Pay. We advise bringing some good old-fashioned cash.
Overall, we recommend Kenny & Ziggy’s New York Delicatessen in Houston. Just make sure you come hungry, bring your appetite, and prepare to be transported to the streets of New York City.

Katz’s in Houston is a whole vibe. As soon as we walked in, we were hit with the aroma of deliciousness and couldn’t wait to dig in.
The menu is like the Avengers of deli food — everything you could possibly want is all in one place. From matzo ball soup to pastrami sandwiches to their infamous Reuben, we were spoiled for choice.
And the portions? They’re Hulk-level huge. We definitely recommend coming with a friend or two so you can share and try a little bit of everything.
The flavor is like the food equivalent of a Beyoncé concert — every bite is a showstopper. The pastrami sandwich was perfectly seasoned and juicy, and the matzo ball soup was so comforting it felt like a hug from your grandma.
And don’t even get us started on the Reuben — it’s like a beautiful symphony of meat, cheese, and sauerkraut all wrapped up in a warm, toasty sandwich.
We were impressed by the customer service at Katz’s because their servers were friendly and attentive. They even checked in on us throughout the meal to make sure everything was perfect.
As much as we loved Katz’s, we’ve to admit we dislike their long wait times. It’s like waiting in line for a limited edition sneaker drop, but instead of shoes, you’re waiting for a sandwich.
Moreover, the regular noise level at Katz’s can be a bit overwhelming, which kind of threw us off.
Despite these letdowns, we recommend Katz’s because it’s comforting, familiar, and won’t break the bank.

Cons
- No waiter service
- Does not accept Apple Pay
If you’re looking for a pho-nomenal dining experience, look no further than Pho Binh. As soon as we stepped through the door, we were greeted by friendly staff who made us feel like we were part of the gang.
Pho Binh has an impressive selection of pho, from the classic beef pho to the more adventurous oxtail pho. It’s like we were playing a game of Dungeons and Dragons, choosing which magical potion to consume next.
And let’s tell you, every bowl of pho we tried was a critical hit. The broth was flavorful and rich, the noodles were perfectly cooked, and the meat was tender and juicy.
What sets Pho Binh apart is their customer service. The staff was attentive and knowledgeable, helping us navigate the menu and recommending their personal favorites.
And the best part — the cost. You don’t have to be a millionaire like Bruce Wayne to enjoy a delicious meal at Pho Binh.
But brace yourselves for some disappointment. Pho Binh doesn’t offer waiter service, which is a total bummer.
If you’re a sports fan, you may have to look for a soup joint elsewhere, too, because Pho Binh doesn’t have a TV service.
Overall, Pho Binh delivers big time with their mouth watering soups that’ll make your taste buds dance. It’s a must-visit spot for anyone seeking a satisfying soup experience.
