Cidercade Houston has its unique take on playing old school and classic arcade games—with craft ciders on tap! We love that we can choose from almost 300 arcade games such as Pac-Man or Galaga.
What we like about Cidercade Houston is that customers have unlimited access to all games. Customers just need to pay the $12 play fee to avail of the unlimited gameplay—no need to use tokens or quarters!
Meanwhile, for those who love to maximize these classic and new arcade games, Cidercade only requires a $20 membership fee which already allows customers to enjoy some free play for one whole month.
As the name suggests, we love that Cidercade Houston offers a wide selection of ciders on tap, including hard ciders, wines, and seltzers. This allows them to tap partygoers to play and party simultaneously.
On top of that, we’re quite impressed that Cidercade Houston has a quick turnaround despite how busy they were. We love how fast they serve the food, allowing customers to enjoy their warm meals.
Even better, Cidercade Houston allows customers to bring in their own food, letting clients choose from several local restaurants and food trucks around the area.
When it comes to cleanliness, we love how the staff at Cidercade Houston ensures hand sanitizers are placed at multiple places. They also see to it that the entire place, including their toilets, is kept clean.
Just take note, since this is an adult arcade bar—no kids are allowed after 9 in the evening!
Food trucks are parked outside the place
“This place has a huge variety of games. You pay an entry fee and then all games are set to Freeplay so you don’t have to pay for each game. They serve hard cider and have vending machines with snacks and non alcoholic drinks. They also have different food trucks outside. You receive a wrist band so you can leave to get food and come back in. I think you can take food in with you. They have a very nice seating area both inside and outside. We had a blast and stayed for probably 2 hours.”

Lots of arcade games are available
“Huge selection of games, they all work, when the break, they fix it. Place is awesome. AND the pizzas and drinks are actually really good. It’s not one of those hit-or-miss, kinda trash pizza you get at a bowling alley, it’s actually really good! Go check it out, it’s 100% worth it. Great spot for a super fun date night or family outing. Bring friends, it’s so incredible bringing back competitive gameplay IN PERSON! So awesome. Definitely adding Cidercade to the list of fun stuff to do with groups!”

What we love about Houston Funplex is that aside from the old arcade games that we can play, we can also explore other games and activities such as roller skating, go-kart, air hockey, and bowling.
Houston Funplex is also great for those who want to relive their childhood as a Ferris wheel, mini roller coaster, and bumper cars are available here too!
We appreciate that there’s a food court inside Houston Funplex. Because of this, customers don’t have to go out to refuel from their snack selections such as pizza.
While Houston Funplex remains busy, especially during weekends, its large area can still accommodate customers without feeling cramped. Houston Funplex is even large enough to host parties and events!
Moreover, since there are a lot of games available, clients won’t feel rushed while playing their favorite games.
Another thing we like about Houston Funplex is that they maintain their equipment well, ensuring no matter how much each item has been used, they still look good and not ragged.
However, we feel like Houston Funplex can do better when it comes to their playlist. More upbeat and fun tunes could help them set up a much more lively vibe inside Houston Funplex.
Accommodating staff
“We had a great time at the skating rink on Wednesday May 15th. We purchased tickets for skating and the play port. Every single person we came in contact with; the front ticket desk lady, the skating rink clerk guy, the skating rink DJ lady and the play port attendant lady were so very nice. They made check in for our large party simple. Thank you!”

For adults who want to play arcade games with a bonus stunning view of the city, then FAO HTX is a great bar to experience being kids all over again.
There’s also a patio area for those who want to eat out while enjoying the breeze. Even better, some games are strategically placed here, allowing customers to maximize the area even more.
Another thing we adore about FAO HTX is that customers are given a “secret code” to be let in, which we think is an amazing touch.
It’s also quite impressive that FAO HTX has a curated playlist, allowing guests to enjoy the vibe even more. They even invite a DJ to play good mixtapes during late happy hour.
While some games remain free of charge, customers still have to pay for the other arcade games available.
Meanwhile, we appreciate how the staff at FAO HTX accommodates their customers like VIPs. Because of this, guests enjoy extending their time playing at partying at FAO HTX.
In terms of booze, FAO HTX has a wide selection of cocktails to choose from, especially if you love tequila. Nonetheless, the bartenders can still use your choice of alcohol for their curated drinks.
Good playlist
“Great bar, there are a ton of fantastic drinks to choose from, and the music choices are on point. Cocktails cost $10-16 ish. The shots are pretty expensive, the lemon is the cheapest at $8, the most expensive is like $12 or so. Most of the arcade games (skee ball, basketball, crossy road, gun games, etc) cost $1 or $2, but there are some games that are free, like the ping pong table, or connect four. There are two balconies, one is considerably larger than the other.”

Food and drink selection are impressive
“If you’re looking for a good time, this is definitely the place for you. It’s the best experience. Not your average bar. They have a code to access the building that changes weekly. That is definitely something that makes FAO stand out. The atmosphere screams 90s arcade 🕹. There are an endless amount of games to play. Both indoors and out. They have a chill music selection during the day. A mixture of genres at night, that their DJ spins for their late night happy hour. This place is a photo opp haven. From the entrance & elevator ride up. To the best skyline views on the balcony . It is eye catching for sure. The staff members are welcoming. They are literally the reason why my friends and I stayed for hours, just vibing. You can tell that they enjoy their job and want you to have the full experience. The food & drinks 🍕🍹The food was pretty tasty. I ordered pizza & way to many drinks to name. The happy hour was so affordable you could literally try them all. Overall” Perfect for date night. Girls night out. Solo dates etc. It’s a great time for everyone !”

For those who want a unique twist for an adult arcade experience, then Game Show Studio Houston is a great idea! Game Show Studio is an interactive venue that encourages participants to think and try their luck to win a game.
Here, customers can experience being in a live game show—yes, like the ones we see on television! Customers may choose from various game types such as trivia or physical games, both building up the energy in the room.
What we like about Game Show Studio Houston is that their production set technical booth is complete. They even manage the lights and sounds to match the atmosphere of the game.
Another thing we like about Game Show Studio Houston is that their venue can accommodate even large groups. Because of this, Game Show Studio Houston has been one of the go-to venues for team building and parties.
Moreover, we love how the staff at Game Show Studio Houston maintains a clean and well-organized venue. Additionally, we’re impressed with its layout, allowing us to easily move from one game to another.
However, some guests have mentioned that their game sessions began later than scheduled, which can be a bit frustrating, especially for customers who are on a tight schedule.
Exciting atmosphere
“Had an absolute blast at Game Show Studio Houston for our team-building event! Eve and Will were amazing hosts and producers. Their energy and enthusiasm made the experience incredibly fun and memorable. The games were exciting and the atmosphere was electric. We can’t thank them enough for making our event such a success”

What sets Neil’s Bahr apart is that they offer nostalgic and classic games such as Mortal Kombat, Street Fighter, and Pac-Man! Even better, Neil’s Bahr utilizes the retro machines, letting older customers to relive the 90s.
Neil’s Bahr even offers all these arcade games free of charge, which we love!
Upon entering Neil’s Bahr, we already feel at ease just by seeing vintage game posters, as well as comic-themed art.
One of the things that impressed us about Neil’s Bahr is its comic book library, a great way to take a break from playing arcade games, or maybe while customers await their turn. This allows guests to dive into their favorite stories and even discover new ones along the way.
Aside from comics and arcade games, we love that customers can also enjoy their karaoke nights. For fans of open-mic entertainment, Neil’s Bahr is a great spot to sing their hearts out.
In terms of food selection, we appreciate how Neil’s Bahr incorporated a gamer-themed bar, offering craft beers and cocktails inspired by the culture of comic books and arcade games.
It’s worth noting, however, that due to high client demand, Neil’s Bahr can feel quite crowded. Expect that some arcade games have longer queues as well.
Hosts quiz and movie nights
“One of my only go-to bars in the city. Very chilled out atmosphere with a friendly and skilled staff behind the counter. They offer good specials throughout the week, and be it the food on the patio or the food truck in their lot, they always have good eating options. Quiz nights and movie nights are fun too. Great place to go play old consoles, arcade games or even a 3D game of ping pong. Great for fellow nerds.

Outside food is allowed
“Excellent bar, awesome vibes. Love coming by and playing the SNES or N64 with some friends & a few drinks. Outside food is permitted (just clean up afterwards, don’t be a jerk). Parking is a bit tricky, but not terrible.
