I keep getting invited to Houston’s finest golf courses, but my best performance is usually at the buffet. My drives keep visiting fairways I wasn’t invited to!
So I’m looking for the best golf coach in Houston to give my swing a fighting chance. Good instruction can help beginners build confidence, and young golfers improve their scores.
Teaching styles vary, so finding the right fit takes a little homework. These coaches might finally give me something to brag about besides lunch.

Its temperature-controlled space lets you work on your swing without watching the forecast like a nervous tournament director. If your workday eats up the usual practice hours, premium membership offers 24/7 facility access.
That’s for practice time, though; coaching sessions follow a separate schedule.
I like that you can choose your instructor when booking a lesson. Owner Tony So played competitively through college, and the studio offers personalized instruction for golfers at different skill levels.
However, you’ll need to bring your own clubs, which makes a first visit harder if you haven’t bought or borrowed any.

Golf can feel like everyone else got the rulebook before you did, which is why Mike Cloutier’s beginner-friendly approach appeals to me. He teaches juniors as young as six, seniors, and golfers aiming for Division I play.

My daughter has completed one 6-week junior package with Coach Mike, and is definitely continuing her classes with him. We already saw a complete transformation with her golf skills. She started golf by taking group lessons with a big club, which was good for an introduction to golf, general teaching, and self-practice time. With Coach Mike, she receives play-by-play feedback. The longer I stare at my backswing, the more it resembles a complicated plumbing problem. Christopher Pribyl’s approach at Wandering Golf Pro appeals to me because he breaks the swing into what you can see, feel, and understand.
