Pros
- Great range
- Vegetarian-friendly
- Spacious
Cons
- Very busy at peak hours, long waiting times
Shabu Zone is an all-you-can-eat hot pot restaurant on Bellaire Boulevard. They’ve been in Houston since 2018, and have made quite the name for themselves.
They have seven soup broths to choose from, with different Japanese flavors. They’ve got a good variety of meats, including their famous prime Wagyu beef.
We’re also big fans of their house-made dipping sauces, which we definitely recommend. They add the perfect kick of flavor to your meal!
Lunch costs $21.99 per adult, and dinner is $31.99. These are pretty standard rates for hot pot buffets of this quality, so it’s pretty reasonable.
They do have vegetarian lunch specials for $18.99 and dinner for $23.99. They have a good range of vegetables to choose from, so there’s definitely something for everybody.
The place is very clean, organized, and spacious, and the ambience was bright and cheery. The staff was also friendly and very helpful about the dining process and menu items.
However, we should note that the restaurant can get really busy, especially on the weekend. This usually means long lines outside as you wait for a table for your group.
The service is usually pretty prompt and professional, but peak times can be a little hectic. However, we really enjoyed the overall dining experience, so we didn’t mind the wait!

Pros
- Great range
- Authentic Chinese flavors
- Prompt service
Cons
- Very busy at peak hours, long waiting times
Liuyishou is an authentic Chinese hot pot restaurant with 22 locations across North America. In Houston, they can be found on Bellaire Boulevard.
They were founded in 2000 in a small area in China, and now have over 1300 locations all over the world. If you’re after more authentic Chinese flavors, we recommend giving it a try.
They have six different soup broths to choose from, with different flavors and spice levels. They have a good range with meat-based and vegetable-based broths.
They’ve also got a great selection of meats, seafood, and other ingredients. We highly recommend their Wagyu Ribeye Score Slices and Goose Intestine!
We also can’t recommend their fresh watermelon juice enough, which is a crowd favorite. It’s a perfect refreshing drink to pair with your steaming hot soup.
The place can get very busy, especially on the weekend, so we recommend making a reservation. Keep in mind that walk-ins can have waiting times of up to two hours.
However, the staff is well-trained and experienced, with prompt and friendly service. We didn’t have to wait too long for our orders, which is great.
We also like that they’re open pretty late, especially on the weekend. If you want to end a night out with some delicious Chinese hot pot, this is a great place to try out!

Pros
- Dine-in and takeout
- Great range
Cons
- Slow service
- Not very vegetarian-friendly
Happy Lamb Hot Pot is a Mongolian chain hot pot restaurant on Westheimer Road. They’re available for both dine-in and takeout, but no delivery.
They have four broths to choose from, with marrow, tomato, and cabbage bases. You can choose a half-and-half bowl if you want to try two of the soup bases.
One thing we noticed is that most of the soup broths are marrow-based, with the tomato broth being the only vegetarian-friendly one. We do wish there were more vegetarian-friendly options.
Their all-you-can-eat meat menu is $24.95, which is pretty reasonable. They also have a premium menu for $27.95.
The sides, which include seafood, noodles, greens, sauces, and dumplings, are all-you-can-eat. We absolutely love this, because it makes the meal so worth it.
We have to highly recommend their Natural Marbled Lamb, which was our favorite from our meal!
They also have a lunch special menu for $10.99, which includes one soup base and one source of protein. It is also served with vegetables, noodles, and mushrooms.
We highly recommend their lunch special especially if you’re looking to save.
The staff is kind and friendly, but the restaurant is definitely more of a self-service place. We noticed that the waiters can take a while to return to your table.

Pros
- Both hot pot and tabletop BBQ
- Free parking
Cons
- Not as wide a range as others on this list
- Not vegetarian-friendly
- Frozen meats
75 BBQ and Hot Pot Buffet is a modern Chinese all-you-can-eat restaurant on Bellaire Boulevard.
We like that they offer both hot pot and tabletop grill dishes. This adds something new to your traditional hot pot experience, and we really enjoyed the option of grilling the meats as well.
There’s only two options for soup broths, mild or spicy. We wish there was more variety there, but we can’t complain about the flavor of our spicy broth.
Their weekday lunch price for adults is $24.99, and their dinner and weekend price is $29.99. The price is definitely reasonable for the amount of food you can get.
We do wish there was a little more variety on their menu, though. We should also note that their meats are frozen, and not fresh.
However, our food was pretty delicious, and the staff greeted us warmly. Overall, we had a pretty good time at their restaurant.
Unfortunately, we don’t recommend this place for vegans or vegetarians. They do offer a lot of vegetables, but the experience is really built around their meats.
The place has a decent number of tables and free parking, which made our whole experience pretty convenient. We didn’t have to wait long to be seated, which is awesome.

Pros
- Individual hot pot
- Great range
- More affordable than others on this list
Cons
- Very busy during peak hours, long waiting time
- Slow service
Chiba Hot Pot is a Chinese all-you-can-eat hot pot restaurant.
It’s an individual hot pot restaurant, meaning you do not share the broth with your table. We like this for groups with different dining experiences, especially when it comes to the spices.
The meats and other ingredients are served on a conveyor belt, which is pretty fun. You can go ahead and choose all the dishes you want to try.
If you’re not a fan of this set-up, though, you might want to try someplace else. This could mean waiting for dishes to come by, after all.
They have five soup broths to choose from, with two of these being vegetable-based. We really loved the House Spicy Soup Base, and the Mushroom Soup Base.
Their lunch buffet price is $18.99, and the dinner price is $28.99. These are pretty great prices, which are a little more affordable than the other restaurants on this list.
The place is well-maintained and the staff are warm and friendly. However, the place can get pretty busy, and you might have to wait to get a table.
Service can also be a little slow, since the place is definitely more of a self-service type restaurant.
