  • Coaching staff: It’s important to check the quality of the coaching staff, including their experience and coaching certifications. This ensures that they have the expertise to look after the soccer players.
  • Facilities: We considered the venue’s facilities such as restrooms, locker rooms, and drinking water fountains, adding convenience to soccer players.
We also checked for proper maintenance of training fields and gym equipment to aid the players’ training.
  • Competitive opportunities: We assessed if the soccer clubs participate in competitions such as local and national leagues and tournaments, allowing students more experience and exposure outside their turf.
  • Player retention: It’s also important for us to check if the club can keep its players. We also checked their college and professional development progression, reflecting effective development.

What we love about Texas Premier Soccer Club is that they won’t impose goals on their players. We like how they ensure involvement from each player by allowing all of them to set goals and expectations with the rest of the team.

Even better, their coaches are patient and loving, allowing students to build their confidence away from fear and intimidation.

What’s great about Texas Premiere Soccer Club is that they create programs across all ages and skill levels. This also allows continuity and consistency, especially for younger kids who plan to join a soccer club.

On top of that, their soccer club programs for the youth are well-guided by the national curriculum, ensuring that it’s not all fun and games on the field.

Texas Premier Soccer Club also offers programs for the United Premier Soccer League, which is the largest and most competitive pro-development league in North America.

Because of this, those who wish to enroll gain more confidence knowing that the club has good league standings with a good progression of players to higher levels.

In line with this, we commend Texas Premier Soccer Club for how they offer great college opportunities and connections beyond the soccer club’s program.

Pros

  • Offers junior league programs
  • Has programs for the United Premier Soccer League
  • Competitive rates

Cons

  • Some reports of needing to improve field maintenance
  • A few instances of limited playing time due to a class’ higher volume

Offers programs across all skill levels

“Texas Premier Soccer Club is a dynamic and well-organized club that provides excellent opportunities for soccer players of all ages and skill levels. With experienced coaches, top-notch facilities, and a strong focus on player development, they create a supportive and competitive environment for players to thrive and reach their full potential. What’s great about Main Soccer Street is that they offer personal soccer training sessions apart from their soccer camps. This allows students to concentrate and focus on improving certain skills while working closely with their coaches.

Every summer, Main Soccer Street also hosts soccer youth clinics, involving the students in the community at an early age.

Another thing we like about Main Soccer Street is that its coaches are warm and patient. We like seeing how the kids are treated like family, teaching them soccer’s modern methods.

We’re also quite impressed with the incentive and awarding atmosphere Main Soccer Street creates. Recognizing these kids’ minor achievements and progress helps in motivating them to commit to the support.

On top of that, Main Soccer Street has been known to create a lively atmosphere. We’re quite impressed that professional players and mascots frequently stop by the indoor soccer field, allowing kids to enjoy the drills and challenges even more.

However, since Main Soccer Street is more focused on developing the skills of the younger ones, those aiming for the higher levels should find another provider.

Meanwhile, we admire Main Soccer Street’s staff for keeping the indoor soccer facility clean. We love how they are keen on maintaining the turf and all the other props, especially since children are more prone to sickness.

Pros

  • Indoor soccer field
  • Offers personal soccer training sessions
  • Can accommodate last-minute reservations

Cons

  • Limited to youth soccer training
  • Indoor soccer field is relatively small

Hosts soccer youth clinics during summer

“Coach Ricardo and Owner Ryan of Houston Soccer Legends are finally holding the youth soccer clinics for the summer 2020. Great stuff for beginners, intermediates, and advanced players trying to hone their skills. My 7 year old daughter fell in live with the ball and we can’t wait until the next session!”

Can be booked for birthday parties

“My sons 6th birthday party was a blast! The kids had so much fun playing on the field and we all felt safe. Eric is such a wonderful person! He really cares about providing excellent service to his customers. Please don’t hesitate to book your next soccer party at Main Street Soccer!”

What’s great about Villarreal Houston Academy is that you can request for tryouts at any given time. We love that there’s no need for further pressure, especially if the players haven’t decided yet.

Speaking of no pressure, we love how Villarreal Houston Academy fosters a positive club culture ensuring the players keep their good characters intact even as they progress and become better in their sport.

On top of that, Villarreal Houston Academy is also known to provide constructive feedback without bringing the kids down. This allows students to focus more on improving without building any fear.

It’s also quite commendable that this soccer club focuses more on progressing technical skills and decision-making skills than just winning soccer games, making the kids more eager to participate in local tournaments.

Villarreal Houston Academy also hosts summer camps for the enrollees. Beyond the fundamentals, the kids can also learn the Spanish methodology, culture, and manner of playing, which is a plus in our books.

Another thing we like about Villarreal Houston Academy is that the coaching team takes their time in sharing evaluations with the players, or their parents. This allows everyone to stay accountable during the entire soccer program, which we love.

Pros

  • In the business since 1923
  • Focuses on progressing technical skills and decision-making skills
  • Joins local tournaments

Cons

  • Rates are a bit premium
  • Attends to a large number of kids in a class

Supports the development of kids

“We have completed a full year with Villarreal and are pleased with the experience. The coaches all care about supporting and developing the kids. It is a great group of parents, coaches, and kids. Fostering the right environment for the kids is important to help them grow, and Villarreal does that well. My son plays on one of the 9U teams – he has grown alot this past year in technical skills, game management, mindset and learning the strategy of the game. We are looking forward to another year!”

Chase McAteer, Google Review

Family atmosphere throughout the soccer club

“Great coaching. Family atmosphere throughout the club. One of the few in Houston that seem to give priority to the well being of the children and the team over winning. Despite this (or maybe because of it), the product on the field is high quality. Cannot give a stronger recommendation.”

During the summer camp, we love how Panther Soccer allows kids to learn new skills each training session. Even better, the coaches at Panther Soccer ensure that their camp is a blend of education and enjoyment.

Another thing we like about Panther Soccer is that they provide trial sessions, allowing parents and players to gauge if the soccer club aligns with their goals.

This also allows them to be assessed before they even register for the club’s waitlist should they decide to play full-time.

What’s great about Panther Soccer is that they host an internal 4v4 league game. This allows students to maximize their ball touches, and encourages them to make quick decisions while maintaining a great play throughout the game.

However, it’s worth noting that there is no skills training during weekends. Those who may have a busier schedule during weekdays should look for another soccer club in town.

In terms of their facilities, parents rave about the climate-controlled indoor facility, allowing their kids to focus on training without having to worry about the heat outdoors, especially during summer.

We also like that the soccer club highlights its injury prevention and management, giving parents more peace of mind that their children are in a safe environment.

Pros

  • Offers trial sessions
  • Good injury prevention and management

Cons

  • No skills training during weekends
  • Less playing time for larger team setups

Climate-controlled indoor facility

“My kids have had a great experience attending camps at Panther Soccer (formerly Soccer Box) over the past couple of years. They’ve had fun sharpening their soccer skills and stayed very active during summer and spring break camps. We’ve also hosted a birthday party at their facility and the kids had lots of fun. Love that it’s an indoor facility and climate controlled for those hot summer months.”

Grant Yip, Google Review

Supportive coaching team

“My daughter attended camp during winter break and loved it. My son currently plays in the pre-competitive league and is having a great time. The coaches are very nice and supportive. They do a good job identifying strengths and weakness, and helping the kids improve.”

What we like about Houston Wolves Soccer Club is that they offer programs across all levels. We like how they create a clear curriculum and pathway for these young kids.

In fact, they provide an outline of a player’s pathway from recreational programs up to the regional league. Since they emphasize long-term growth and player progression, players can successfully advance to collegiate levels, which we love.

In line with this, Houston Wolves Soccer Club is known to house great coaching staff. We love how they remain dedicated to developing the players’ tactical understanding on the field.

Moreover, their coaches keep a supportive and nurturing environment throughout the program, allowing students to appreciate a more effective coaching method.

Houston Wolves Soccer Club also participates in competitive leagues and tournaments, both locally and nationally. Because of this, parents are more eager to enroll their kids for skill enhancement and exposure.

Meanwhile, this soccer club also engages with the community through multiple summer clinics across all soccer groups. Because of this, Houston Wolves Soccer Club has been able to keep a sense of community among their tribe.

However, it’s worth noting that no training schedules are set on Sundays. Those who may have limited availability during weekdays may have to find another provider.

Pros

  • Provides programs across all levels
  • Emphasizes long-term growth

Cons

  • Not open on Sundays
  • Premium rates

Structured, no-pressure environment

“We just had our son do a 3-day soccer camp here this summer. It was the most fun he’s had compared to any little league experience he’s had thus far…and he’s had plenty. The instructors were great guys all around. The facilities are top notch. They had the best Covid protocols I’ve seen from any venue I can think of…and they truly enforced it. This is a fun, developmental, structured, non-pressure environment where my child could enjoy learning the game. We will definitely enroll in the additional programs they offer. Well done BVB!”

Ron Jenkins, Google Review

Focuses on honing essential skills

“Absolutely love this camp! My 4 year old has attended 2 weeks and we will be signing up for more. They make it fun while working on essential skills and are very patient. This is a great program! You won’t be disappointed!”
