Pros

  • Early/late operating hours
  • Easy signup for classes
  • Group fitness sessions is great
  • Personal training is available both in-person and online
  • Plenty of tips are available on the website

Cons

  • Not a lot of specialty classes

A great women-only gym in Houston, Tiny Fitness is located right at the heart of Hyde Park and is a great women-only gym in Houston that can help you reach your body goals, even if you’re at home!

What we liked about Tiny Fitness is that they can cater to your needs, even if you can’t go to them in-house. Their Online Personal Training is nicely paced for beginners, and you can get a free consultation prior so you can prepare yourself better before the class.

That being said, if you have the time and money, then we suggest going there yourself and trying out their class for yourself. It’s a fun atmosphere to be in, and our coach really showed us what “tough love” means with the difficult, yet fun class.

But though their classes are fun, we do have to warn you that they don’t have a lot of activities other than workouts. And yes, it can help you get in shape, but the lack of other fun activities can make it a bit less fun as compared to other gyms.

But with their lack of classes comes plenty of tips for anyone! Their free guides are easy to follow and can help you learn more about being or staying fit, and even some diet tips for you, too!

Pros

  • Plenty of training programs
  • Challenges are perfect to keep you on your toes
  • Nutrition workshops available
  • Run Club is lots of fun

Cons

  • Inconsistent operating hours

With plenty of fun activities and challenges for you to try, we like just how much Abba Fitness gets you to pay attention to your fitness!

What we liked the most about Abba Fitness is their fun approach to fitness. From their 6-week Take Your Life Back Challenge and a Run Club that you can participate in, they make sure that exercise is a fun activity and not a tedious chore!

We really have to give their 6-week Challenge a shout-out. It can really help whip you to shape in a way that you feel empowered and powerful, and you also get great feedback and nutrition plans to go along with it as well.

And if you’re really dedicated to your fitness, then the 6-week challenge has an optional grocery tour where they can teach you what you can and cannot buy in your local grocery and their healthy counterparts!

But though that’s great and all, we can’t say much about their operating hours, which is very confusing. You would either have to go there really early at the crack of dawn or come into their afternoon classes at 4:15 PM, which can be a tad inconvenient.

But we have to tell you that coming in at the crack of dawn does have its perks since you can take part in the Run Club! It’s lots of fun, and Coach Ramiro is a great person to be around and can help you with your running problems.

Pros

  • Private 1:1 sessions are available
  • Great, neighborhood-style gym
  • The FACET system is a good training regimen
  • Great prices

Cons

  • 1:1 sessions do not have a fixed price

With their affordable prices and amazing activities for ladies, Facet Seven Heights goes above and beyond when it comes to fitness with their FACET system, which really differentiates them from other women-only gyms in Houston.

Now, FACET stands for Flexibility, Agility, Core, Endurance, and Strength and it’s their bread-and-butter training regimen.

Yes, you will sweat a lot in the training process. Yes, you’ll get very, very sore muscles if you don’t stretch before taking part in the FACET training. But will you get to notice the results faster compared to other training regimens? Yes – absolutely!

The best part about Facet Seven Heights is that they also have private 1:1 training sessions available, too! And they don’t just assign a random coach – you can fill out your goals on their website and they will match you to a trainer that can help you reach it!

Now, the only thing that we don’t appreciate as much about Facet Seven Heights is you have to visit them and start with a tour before you can get a quote for the 1:1 sessions. But you do get a coach that suits your goals, so it’s kind of a mixed bag for us,

But other than that, their fixed prices are great! It’s the same price for most women-only gyms in Houston, and it costs $45 to start a 30-day membership with them, too!

Pros

  • Empowering space for women
  • Pregnancy and postpartum exercises
  • Personal trainers are accredited
  • Pregnancy classes prepare you for labor
  • Circuit training is great for burning calories

Cons

  • Unclear operating hours

Perhaps one of the most empowering, women-only gyms in Houston, FemCore Fitness lives up to its name by delivering an experience that every woman in Houston can enjoy, no matter what you’re going through in life right now.

We appreciated their pregnancy and post-partum classes. Though yes, it’s not very gym-like for them to offer that class to begin with, it can really help you ease your anxiety and help you deal with your pregnancy.

The program also comes with exercises that you can do even while pregnant and a personal trainer to boot! The pregnant classes are nice and can help you keep in shape to make sure you’ll have a safe delivery. They also have pregnant Zumba, too!

We were very interested in their classes and their empowering atmosphere, only to find out that their operating hours aren’t very laid out compared to other women-only gyms in Houston. Their hours depend on the classes, which can be a bit of a let-down.

However, just because FemCore Fitness mainly caters to pregnant women doesn’t mean that you can’t go there to get in shape! They also have circuit training for ladies that want to feel the burn, too! And trust us – their training will make you sweat a lot!

Pros

  • Crossfit is great for everyone
  • Plenty of classes are available
  • Strength training program is great
  • Good prices on memberships and boot camps

Cons

  • Complicated operating hours

One of the only women-only gyms in Houston that specializes in CrossFit, we can vouch that you’ll have a great (sweaty) time in EaDo Fitness!

CrossFit, if you’re not aware, is essentially a HIIT-style training that can really put you and your stamina to the test.

The thing that we liked the most about EaDo Fitness is that their CrossFit classes are easy to follow is beginner-friendly. You can sign up to their free class before signing up for the beginner class. Think of it as an appetizer to prep you for the real deal.

However, these CrossFit classes do come with a time caveat. You can start at 5:30 AM, 12 NN, 5:30 PM, or 7 PM on Mondays – Thursdays or 10 AM on Saturdays, which can be a tad inconvenient if you’re working and only have a couple of hours for workouts

But then, with the class costing $199 per month for a 12-month commitment, the inconvenient time is much worth it. The bootcamp for experienced CrossFitters costs $159 for a 12-month commitment, too – and that one, we still lack the experience for.

We also have to mention that the $199 also comes with a yoga class that can help you decompress and relax after a long day of work, along with full access to all of the classes that they have to offer.
