Pros

  • Fully online legal services available

Cons

  • Smaller firm, unable to take on too many cases

David J. Willis is an attorney and broker for real estate transactions in Houston. He also offers services for business law, asset protection, and trusts.

He published a book titled Real Estate Law and Asset Protection for Texas Real Estate Investors. This tells us that he’s definitely a qualified expert on the topic, so we love that.

He is also available for fully online legal services, which gives him a leg up in our books. This makes it very convenient for a lot of people who may need or prefer their remote services.

They offer real estate documents and consultations, and representation for buyers, sellers, and investors. They also handle real estate trusts and entity structuring for investments.

His clients say he is knowledgeable, polite, and very professional. They shared with us that they felt very confident in trusting his abilities, which we think is really important.

Some people find his rates a little high, but we don’t find his rates unreasonable. We should also note that it’s a smaller firm, so they have to be a little more picky with the cases they take on.

This means that it may be a little harder to have them take on your case. While not ideal, we do think the quality of their services is worth a great rating.

  • Top Three Rated business lawyers in Houston 2021
  • Three real estate lawyers

Cons

  • Issues with responsiveness (customer service)

Holmes Law PLLC was named one of the top 3 business lawyers in Houston by Top Three Rated in 2021. They also handle representation in real estate transactions.

This means that they’re recognized by both clients and fellow professionals in the industry. We appreciate this because it means they’re trustworthy and notable in their field.

They have eight attorneys with different areas of expertise. Their resident experts on real estate law are Thomas J. Holmes III, Richard Amagwula, and T. Chris Sigler.

We like that they have three options, so you can work with the attorney that fits your needs best. You can base it on availability, personality, and many other factors.

They cover a good range of real estate legal services, from simple contact reviews to more complex litigation. We’re confident they have what it takes to accommodate your needs.

Clients that have worked with them say they’re competent, thorough, and knowledgeable in all their work. We also love that they’re very highly rated across different online platforms. .

Some people we reached out to did express frustration with their customer service. There had been incidents where it took them several days to hear back from the office.

We don’t love that, because we understand the value of your time. Thankfully however, this seems to be a rare occurrence.

  • Bilingual (English and Spanish)

Cons

  • Office can get pretty busy

Chavana Office is run by father and son Hector A. Chavana and Hector A. Chavana Jr. The younger practices business, consumer, and real estate law.

He is a licensed real estate broker, which means he’s had a lot of experience in the field even before becoming a lawyer. We appreciate this, because with experience comes understanding.

His work on home builder’s warranties was published in the Journal of Consumer and Commercial Law of the State Bar of Texas.

We love this, because it proves he’s knowledgeable in the field of real estate law.

Hector Chavana Sr. focuses primarily on family and criminal law, but he has plenty of experience in real estate law as well.

We should also note that both father and son are bilingual, speaking fluent English and Spanish. This is really great for potential clients who are more comfortable speaking in Spanish.

The clients we talked to said that they have a clear and solid understanding of real estate law. On top of that, we love that they emphasize their kindness and concern in talking to their clients.

Some people did say it was a little pricey, and sometimes the office is pretty busy. This could mean it may be a little harder to accommodate you.

Pros

  • Four real estate lawyers

Cons

  • Rates can be a little more expensive than usual

The Weaver Law Firm in Houston and San Antonio offers real estate, business, and construction legal services. They handle deeds, financing, transactions, documents, leases, and litigation.

They have four attorneys who practice real estate law. These are Richard Weaver, Jonathan Wu, Walker Smith, and Trevon Watson.

We always like when there are options for real estate lawyers available. This means that the office isn’t likely to be too busy dealing with other clients.

We appreciate that their website is full of information about their services. They handle disputes, commercial leasings, closings, purchase and sale agreements, and others.

The website describes each service in detail, which we find really helpful. This way, you know what procedures to expect if you decide to work with them.

We reached out to some of their clients, and they say their firm is trustworthy, responsive, and well-versed in their field. Many of them praised their efficiency in particular, which we believe is crucial.

We should note, however, that some clients do find their rates a little too expensive. They say they try their best to find solutions for clients on a budget, but sometimes it’s not enough.

Pros

  • Four locations in Houston
  • Six attorneys

Cons

  • Rates can be a little more expensive than usual

Guerra Days Law Group offers services for real estate, probate, construction, bankruptcy, business, and family law. They also handle civil appeals.

They have offices in Houston, San Antonio, Austin, and Edinburg. We like this because this makes them more accessible to people in need of their services in other parts of Texas.

We should note, however, that their offices outside of Houston operate by appointment only. Walk-ins are welcome in their main office, which we think is pretty great.

They have a fairly large team with six attorneys, which we like. This means that you can work with a lawyer who suits your needs best.

This also means that the workload can be more distributed among them. We like this because it means they’ll be more likely to be able to take on your case.

The clients we talked to called their work efficient and professional. A lot of them said they can’t thank Guerra Days Law Group enough for all the help they offer.

Some people did say that their rates were pretty expensive. They say that they were charged $500 for what was supposed to be a 2-hour meeting, but it ended up only lasting 20 minutes.
