Pros
- Authentic Vietnamese food options
- A good flavor profile on pho
- Excellent drinks
- Menu items are well-made
Cons
- Few options on the delivery menu
An excellent pho shop in Houston that offers authentic Vietnamese pho with an amazing flavor profile, Pho Bò Tơ & Bò Né should be a must-visit when you’re around the area!
What we liked the most about Pho Bò Tơ & Bò Né was just how authentic their pho’s flavor is. It’s strong, but not too overwhelming. Their premium and large pho noodles are reasonably priced too which is a definite plus.
Their rice plates are nice as well – the combination, to be exact. It comes with fried rice and perfectly cooked beef and chicken strips. The flavor profile is just right and the meat is perfectly seasoned to complement the fried rice well.
Though they don’t have plenty of drinks to offer, what they do have are refreshing and hit the spot perfectly. Unlike other Vietnamese coffees that tend to taste burnt and over-roasted, their Iced Vietnamese Coffee tastes right and has the right kick to it.
The only problem that we had with Pho Bò Tơ & Bò Né is that their delivery menu isn’t as plenty as what they offer in-house. Yes, it’s not a lot, but we do want some of their food at home on lazy days.
But if you do have the time to visit them, then they’re relatively easy to find. They’re near the main road and only a few blocks away from Landi’s Elementary School, too.

Pros
- Traditional pho
- Owners have been in the industry for 20 years
- Affordable pricing
- Party trays available for batch orders
Cons
- Not vegetarian/vegan friendly
Though we didn’t quite like that Pho Ben doesn’t have vegetarian options to choose from, we did like their attention to detail and the sheer amount of menu items they have for those looking for the best pho in Houston.
We appreciate the fact that they have food options for anyone looking for an authentic Vietnamese meal – their pho, especially! The broth has that signature pho taste, and both the noodles and the meats are perfectly cooked as well.
One of Pho Ben’s main selling points is their value for money. Every menu item is reasonably priced, even with the more premium items! Even their Phở Tái, or pho with eye of round steak, only costs $10.25 for a large bowl which is a steal!
Their spring rolls are nice, too! The rice paper is firm, and the vermicelli noodles inside are perfectly stringy, too. Better still, you can get party trays of these spring rolls and their egg rolls for special events!
What we don’t appreciate as much about Pho Ben is their lack of vegetarian/vegan options on the menu. All their menu options contain meat in one way or another, so we can’t recommend their food if you’re on those specific diets.
But if you are, then it’s no problem since their drinks can help you out with that! Their Iced Coffee and Coconut Juice is a must-try for us. The Coconut Juice especially – it tastes fresh!

Pros
- Plenty of food options
- Different varieties of pho soup
- Reasonable pricing
- Vegetarian menu available
Cons
- Long wait time due to menu options
One of the things that stands out the most about Pho Saigon is the sheer amount of food options that they have. And everything is tailored for both Houstonians and Vietnamese food connoisseurs alike!
Their pho is always on-point, which is greatly appreciated. We also like how they put the thinner cuts of raw meat after they assemble the soup itself, so that it’s cooked just right and doesn’t become too chewy.
But their pho isn’t the only thing that we like! Pho Saigon also has a dedicated vegetarian menu, and we can vouch that their Steamed Rice with Fried Tofu is really good! The tofu is super crispy and well-seasoned, which pairs well with the rice.
What we didn’t quite like about them, however, is that the wait time can be longer than expected. But it does make sense, given the amount of items they have on the menu. From egg rolls to Banh Mi, they make every Vietnamese dish out there, after all.
But the good thing is the drinks come first before the meals, and they have plenty of good drink options for you to choose from. Both their Thai Tea and the Fresh Milk with Black Sugar are good, but our top pick would have to go with their Thai Tea.

Pros
- Plenty of specialty menu options
- Vietnamese coffee is a must-try
- Affordable pricing
- Specialty egg rolls don’t fall apart easily
Cons
- Closed on weekends
Speaking of good pho and even better drinks, Pho Houston has a nice (albeit limited) selection of authentic Vietnamese food for you to choose from. That, and their reasonable prices makes them a top contender for the best pho in Houston for us!
Their pho broth is rich and tasty, and there are plenty of meat choices for you to choose from. You can get the traditional beef pho, chicken, shrimp, and even dried beef and chicken, which is unique.
Yes, we know – dried chicken and beef don’t sound very appetizing. But the meat isn’t too dry and has the right texture that goes surprisingly well with the pho broth. Tip from us, soak the dried meat in the pho broth a little and it’ll taste better than the fresh cuts.
Their coffees are a must-try, too! The brew is fresh and they add just the right amount of sugar and milk, and it’s not so strong that we had heart palpitations afterward. The strawberry smoothie deserves an honorable mention from us, too!
If there’s anything that we don’t like about Pho Houston, it’s that they’re not open on Saturdays and Sundays, which is a missed opportunity if you want a taste of their food on the weekends.
But their prices more than make up for this, since everything on their menu is affordable, even with taxes included!

Pros
- Authentic pho flavor
- Take-out meats for grills are available
- Plenty of menu options for both lunch and dinner
- Little difference in lunch and dinner prices
Cons
- Closed on Sundays and Holidays
Yes, you can’t get any of Huynh Restaurant’s wonderful pho and meals on Sundays and Holidays – but that doesn’t mean that it’s not a place worthy of your visit when you’re around!
We liked how authentic their pho’s flavor profile is. It’s rich and flavorful without being too strong, and the vermicelli noodles are cooked just right. We recommend the Phở GẦU (beef noodle soup with fatty brisket) from the lunch menu.
Their dinner menu doesn’t fall short, either. There are plenty of choices to choose from, and the best part is there’s very little price difference between their lunch and dinner menu, unlike other restaurants.
Now, as mentioned above, they are closed on Sundays and Holidays. But the good thing about Huynh Restaurant is that you can order marinated meat for a couple of dollars for special events, so it all evens out.
And if you don’t like meat, then it’s no problem! Huynh Restaurant also has a wide selection of tofu dishes for you to choose from if you’re on a vegan/vegetarian diet. We recommend their Udon Xào Chay since their udon absorbs all the flavor of the veggies.
Their drinks don’t fall short, too! Their smoothies are refreshingly sweet, though some of them are only available depending on the season. If you can, then their avocado smoothie is a must-try, but if they’re out of season then the durian one has a very surprising flavor.
