If you’re in Houston and looking for a great spot to enjoy some tasty seafood, look no further than Sam’s Boat! We dropped anchor at this floating bar, and we’re happy to report it’s smooth sailing all the way.
The menu is a veritable treasure trove of delicious seafood options. From shrimp and oysters to crab and lobster, Sam’s Boat has it all.
We particularly enjoyed the seafood platter, which was overflowing with tasty treats from the sea.
The entertainment is also top-notch, with live music and an electrifying atmosphere that kept us coming back for more. We felt like we were at a beachside bar in the Caribbean.
The ambiance is also worth mentioning, as Sam’s Boat has a relaxed and welcoming vibe that made us feel right at home. Whether you’re in the mood for a quiet dinner or a raucous night out, this place has got you covered.
Sam’s Boat offers great value for your money. You’ll get generous portions of fresh seafood at reasonable prices, which makes it a great option for anyone on a budget.
But shiver us timbers, we were disappointed to find out this joint isn’t conducive for dancing.
We were also ready to weigh anchor on a night out, but were left marooned at the register when we found out they don’t accept Apple Pay. It’s a real bummer, because we had to walk the plank to an ATM instead.
All in all, we had a blast at Sam’s Boat and would recommend it to anyone looking for a fun and delicious seafood experience.

Pros
- Outdoor seating
- Happy hour
- Full bar
Cons
- No reservations
- No Wi-Fi
- Not pet-friendly
We had the pleasure of visiting Lei Low, and let’s tell you, it was a whale of a time. From the moment we stepped into this floating bar, we felt like we were transported to a paradise.
The menu is as vast as the sea itself. The drinks here are like treasure chests filled with exotic flavors and unexpected ingredients.
We tried the Jamaican Sorrel Punch, which was a delightful blend of Jamaica rum, hibiscus, and orange, and it truly eased our pain. The Fire At Aku Aku was another standout, with its mix of smoky mezcal and absinthe.
The menu also has a range of small plates and snacks that pair perfectly with the drinks. We particularly enjoyed the Tiki Tots, which were like little potato buoys floating in a sea of cheese and bacon.
Additionally, Lei Low is a regular siren song for music lovers, with live performances from local artists. The music was a perfect accompaniment to our drinks, and we found ourselves swaying to the rhythm of the waves.
We won’t sugarcoat it – Lei Low is on the pricier side. The high cost of drinks and food may be a bummer for budget-conscious sailors.
While Lei Low is a great spot for drinks, it’s also a bit of a disappointment they don’t offer Wi-Fi. We advise leaving your virtual ship at home and enjoy real-life socializing.
Despite these hiccups, Lei Low is a must-visit spot for any sea-loving pirate in Houston. It’s a true hidden gem that’s worth exploring.

We took a deep dive into Sharky’s Waterfront Grill, and we’ve to say we’re thoroughly impressed.
Like Ariel’s collection of human treasures, Sharky’s menu is full of wonders that made our taste buds sing. From their succulent seafood platters to their juicy burgers, there’s something for every appetite.
They also offered entertainment that made us feel like we’re in a mermaid lagoon. From live music to karaoke nights, there was something going on to keep us amused.
Sharky’s is surprisingly affordable, with prices that didn’t have us singing a sad, “Poor Unfortunate Soul” tune. Plus, their daily specials and happy hour deals made it even more budget-friendly.
Sharky’s may have killer fish tacos, but their lack of covered outdoor seating left us feeling like we were the ones being served up for lunch. We recommend putting on sunblock before going here.
We also went here hoping to catch some waves…of WiFi, that is. Unfortunately, their lack of internet left us feeling like we were stranded on a deserted island.
If you’re looking for a floating bar that’s both delicious and entertaining, look no further than Sharky’s Waterfront Grill. From the menu to the ambiance to the cost, it’s a treasure trove of under-the-sea goodness.

Pros
- Vegetarian options
- Outdoor seating
- Pet-friendly
- PWD-friendly
Cons
- No reservations
- Not kid-friendly
When we set sail to BARge 295, we were struck by the nautical ambiance. The ropes, the sails, the anchor, all made us feel like we were truly on a ship.
We started with the shrimp cocktail, and it was so good we almost went overboard with excitement. The shrimp were juicy and plump, and the cocktail sauce had just the right amount of kick.
Next, we tried the lobster mac and cheese — a dish fit for a king or queen. The mac and cheese was creamy and indulgent, and the chunks of lobster were plentiful.
We also had the seafood platter, which included oysters, clams, shrimp, and crab legs. It’s like we had stumbled upon a treasure trove of seafood, and we savored every bite.
BARge has live music on the weekends. We were lucky enough to catch a performance by a local band, and they had us grooving like we were on a yacht in the Mediterranean.
The ambiance here was lively and fun, and we felt like we were part of the crew.
However, we were disappointed to find that BARge isn’t exactly a kid-friendly establishment. If you’re hoping to bring your mini mermaids and sea sprites along for the ride, you may want to weigh anchor and look elsewhere.
In addition, if you’re planning a special date, you may need to take a chance and chart a course for the restaurant early. BARge doesn’t accept reservations.
Despite these drawbacks, BARge 295 was a fantastic experience. We recommend this spot to anyone looking for a seafood adventure.

Pros
- Takes reservations
- Vegetarian options
- Happy hour
Cons
- No Wi-Fi
- Not pet-friendly
We recently visited Seaside Lounge and let’s just say, we were swept off our feet. From the menu to the entertainment, the ambiance to the cost, this place had us hooked.
We dove into their seafood options and were blown away by the freshness of their catches. The shrimp was so succulent, we felt like we were biting into Poseidon’s personal stash.
The live music was like a siren’s call, luring us in with its melodic waves. The band had us grooving to their tunes like we were in the Bahamas.
We felt like we were lounging on a beach in Cabo, with the sand between our toes and a fruity drink in our hands. The sea breeze flowing through the patio made us forget we were in Houston.
Moreover, we were expecting to pay a king’s ransom, but were pleasantly surprised by the reasonable prices. It was like finding treasure on a deserted island.
Unfortunately, Seaside has no Wi-Fi. We were ready to tweet our experience here, but had to settle for talking to each other like it was the 90s.
We were also disappointed to discover they’re not pet-friendly. So we had to leave our furry friend at home while we went on a treasure hunt.
Overall, Seaside Lounge is a must-visit spot for anyone looking for a sea-riously good time. We can’t wait to set sail back to this spot and enjoy the seafood and ambiance once again.
