When it comes to finding a top-notch boxing gym in Houston, Mean Green Gym is definitely worth considering, and there are several reasons why.
Here, we love how the coaches motivate students, guiding them from start to finish, especially newbies who might feel out of place elsewhere.
The challenging workouts provided here are designed to push clients to their limits, building strength, endurance, and skill. Another thing we like is the option for group training or private sessions, catering to those who enjoy the camaraderie of a group or prefer one-on-one attention.
What’s great about Mean Green Gym is its large workout area. Even during peak times, there’s enough space for everyone, ensuring that no one will feel cramped or rushed.
It’s also quite impressive how the gym ensures that sessions are never hurried, giving each workout the time it needs for every one to train effectively.
On the other hand, the clean facility is always well-maintained, creating a pleasant and hygienic workout environment, which is a plus in our books.
However, membership cost might be higher compared to some other gyms, which could be a stretch for those on a tight budget. Additionally, parking availability can sometimes be a challenge, especially during busy hours.
Pros
- Motivating coaches
- Provides challenging workouts
- Group training and private sessions are available
- Clean facility
- Spacious workout area
- No rushed sessions
Cons
- Slightly higher rate than competitors
- Limited parking availability

We highly commend TITLE Boxing Club Midtown Houston for its pool of knowledgeable coaches, consistently pushing members to their limits, and ensuring that every workout is both challenging and effective.
Even better, the high energy in each session ensures that participants are always on their toes, making for a dynamic and invigorating workout experience.
We also like the gym’s lively atmosphere, enhanced by great music, which contributes to a highly motivating environment that members appreciate.
What’s great about TITLE Boxing Club is its extensive operational hours and flexible class schedule, making it convenient for individuals with busy lifestyles to find a suitable time to train.
It’s quite impressive how the gym organizes monthly events, which not only foster a sense of competition but also create a fun and engaging atmosphere that keeps members motivated.
It’s worth noting, however, that the cost of renting gloves and wraps can be quite expensive, which may add to the overall expense for those who do not own their own gear.
Another downside is that classes can become quite crowded, particularly at popular times, potentially limiting the individual attention that some members might need.
Overall, we think that TITLE Boxing Club Midtown Houston excels in providing top-tier boxing training with knowledgeable coaching, a high-energy atmosphere, and a supportive community, making it a top choice for boxing enthusiasts in Houston.

Great workout vibe and music
“I love the vibe, music and especially coaches. I joined class 5:30 all the time with Mr. Bart, Jai or Ahmed, shout out for their hardworking! They really pushing me to get stronger. If I have a chance I’ll always comeback. Plus the other people in class really supportive. In some of my first class with Mr. Bart, there was a really nice person told me some great tips! Great experience all the time!”

Houston Colloseum Academy’s availability of both HIIT and yoga classes under one roof is particularly appealing, as it allows us to enjoy a comprehensive workout regimen without needing to visit multiple facilities.
The small class sizes are another highlight, providing a more personalized experience that ensures each member receives ample attention and tailored instruction.
We also commend the gym’s inclusive and welcoming atmosphere, making it a friendly place for individuals across all ages. Because of this, parents are also encouraged to tag their kids along for some friendly boxing sessions.
The cleanliness and maintenance of the machines are impressive, reflecting the gym’s commitment to providing a safe and hygienic environment for all its patrons.
Additionally, we find that the gym’s location is convenient, making it easily accessible for many in the area, which adds to its overall appeal.
On the other hand, membership at Houston Colosseum Academy is notably beneficial, as it includes access to all classes, offering great value and encouraging members to explore different types of workouts.
However, this feature might be a disadvantage for those seeking more flexible workout options.
Moreover, the absence of noon schedules during weekdays can be inconvenient for individuals looking to exercise during their lunch breaks.
Pros
- Small classes
- All ages are welcome to train
Cons
- Membership required to enjoy full gym access
- No noon schedules during weekdays
Offers great street HIIT and yoga classes
“Great coaches and staff at HCA. I have enjoyed Carla’s, Rae’s, and Dominique’s street HIIT classes and the Sunday yoga classes. The coaches push you and help you with your form. The classes are nice and small and intense. The other gym members are very nice too. I also do personal training with Matt and he is very knowledgeable. My body always feels better after the classes and the personal training. This gym is also very affordable – I get the 8 class pass for $85 and there are no contracts or other fees. The owner JJ is super friendly too. I highly recommend this gym.”

Offers wide range of classes; catering to various fitness goals
“Best workouts I’ve ever had in my life. Best trainers I’ve ever had in my life. Trainers are very skilled, helpful, positive, and encouraging. They offer a wide range of classes for different skill levels and goals. Everyone in the class is really friendly, too. Best workout family you could ever find. There’s no judgement here. Only positive vibes. Give it a try and you won’t regret it!.”

A beginner-friendly gym
“I arrived for training camp extremely out of shape with zero previous boxing experience. The coaching staff has been incredibly patient and supportive as I work myself into shape and learn the basics of the sport. Coach Canales particularly has been a joy to work with, at no point have I felt rushed or out of place. I highly recommend this gym for anyone looking to get in shape, learn to box or just have a great time working out.”

What’s great about Donis Boxing Academy is that they are committed to provide tailored packages to ensure that individuals of all backgrounds and goals can find a suitable training program to meet their needs effectively.
We also love that they included training sessions for kids, which promotes physical fitness and fosters essential values such as discipline and confidence from a young age.
Another thing we like about Donis Boxing Academy is that our sessions aren’t rushed, allowing us to immerse ourselves fully in the training experience without feeling pressured or hurried.
Moreover, the academy’s emphasis on fundamentals and grassroots boxing is particularly noteworthy, as it lays a solid foundation for skill development and long-term success in the sport.
Even better, instructors demonstrate meticulous attention to detail, ensuring that customers receive thorough guidance and correction to refine their techniques effectively.
It’s worth noting, however, that they are only open on weekends. So those who have limited availability during weekdays may have to look for another boxing facility.
On the other hand, the availability of ample equipment provides members with the necessary tools to enhance their skills and fitness levels.
However, we find that their equipment and other boxing tools are a bit outdated. Those who are more inclined to more modern boxing gyms may have to skip Donis Boxing Gym.
Pros
- Offers packages according to various goals
- Has training for kids
- Not feeling rushed
Cons
- Not open on weekends
- Some equipment and boxing tools are a bit old
Great attention to detail
“Great Coach! His attention to detail is Top Tier. Coach Donis starts you from the basics so you are sure to have all the Boxing fundamentals to excel. He is also a great teacher, catering to each of the three different learning styles and more! I would recommend Coach Donis to anybody, Pro or Amateur!”
Claudis Foley, Google Review
Focused on grassroots boxing
“If you are looking for grass roots boxing technique and foundation then this is the gym you want to be a part of. There is no cutting corners here just like the “old way”. Coach Donis has the ability to start you from scratch and build you up. By far the best I’ve seen here in the city. He has a level of understanding to the sport that is hard to re create. Weather you want to compete or just get in shape I would encourage anyone to stop by and try it out. It truly does become addicting once you start to see and feel the progression yourself. 5 out of 5 stars for the gym and 5 out of 5 stars for the person that he is. Best decision I have made in my adult life.”
