This is a must

“Without a doubt, the best service in Houston. From the time you make the reservation, you are treated like a high-value client. Loved the lounge treatment to start after arriving to get comfortable. They took the time to know we were there for an elopement celebration and celebrated us all night. The menu was Eastern Mediterranean and the food was a nice tour of the historical Levant region. Out of the 11 courses (incl. amuse-bouche and tiny post-dessert bites), only one was average – the rest were exquisite. They even went above and beyond to bring in a special bottle of cognac based on an email conversation we had previously. If you’re a foodie or enjoy fine dining, this is a must.”

A wonderful culinary experience!

“They set the stage with the lounge while you are waiting for your table. Every server is well-trained on the chef’s vision. They were very attentive. The food was interesting and good. I LOVE the wagyu- the best meal in my life! They were so sweet to prepare a drink for me upon arrival and my husband loved how they reached out earlier to ask how to make the night special. A wonderful culinary experience!”

Fantastic!

“Wow, the food here is fantastic! I’ve been to Brenner’s in San Antonio on the Riverwalk and loved it, so I had to try the location here in Houston. I was not disappointed; this food was so good and it was a great experience overall. We ordered a variety of items and all were fantastic, but I highly recommend the Texas Kisses appetizer. It might be one of the best apps I’ve ever had at a restaurant. Seriously if you love bacon and seafood it’s a must-have. I ordered the Crab Legs and my dad ordered a filet. Both were absolutely fantastic. I also ordered a chocolate Souffle and it was amazing! It was soooo good. Service was excellent. The servers were very fast to respond and were super friendly. It was definitely a great restaurant to come to for a first time visit to Houston.”

– Katie John, Google Review

Great choice

“At first I didn’t want to eat here, it was my wife’s idea. But wow, great choice honey! I was pleasantly surprised. The food, decor, atmosphere, and music were great. The steak and dessert were both Goldilocks. After dinner we sat in the garden. A rabbit sat near us until we left.”

Brennan’s of Houston has been a beloved institution since 1967, bringing Louisiana’s Creole soul to the heart of Texas. Known for its Southern charm and old-world hospitality, this restaurant offers an experience filled with warmth and flavor.

Customer reviews highlight the professional staff who “make every visit feel like a family reunion” and the lively Sunday Jazz Brunch that keeps regulars coming back.

The decor exudes timeless elegance with floral arrangements, white linens, and cheerful energy. While prices lean toward the higher end, most diners say the memories—and the hospitality—make it worth every dollar.

Pros

  • Authentic Creole dishes
  • Signature tableside desserts
  • Exceptional service
  • Festive atmosphere during the famous Jazz Brunch

Cons

  • Valet-only parking adds to the cost
  • Can get crowded on weekends

Would definitely recommend!

“This place is amazing. My family and I have been going here for over 10 years. We have celebrated anniversaries, graduations, holidays, like Christmas, Mother’s Day, Father’s Day, and so much more here. It is practically like a tradition. The staff and service are high-quality and greatly trained. We know some of the servers by name and even request to see them because they are that great. Love the pralines by the door. Garlic bread & biscuits are good. French Toast never disappoints. Some of our favorite desserts are the Banana’s Foster, Bread Pudding, Mississippi Mud Pie and Strawberry Shortcake. Live band is awesome, friendly and nice. They sometimes take song requests. Would especially recommend coming here for brunch. Most lively on the weekend like Saturday or Sunday. Would definitely recommend!”

You won’t regret it!

“Came here for lunch during restaurant week. Our server, Tyler, was informative about all of the dishes. The roasted duck crepe was my favorite dish of the entire meal. The 25-cent melon martinis were strong and well worth it – especially after a hard work week. You MUST try their bananas foster – a restaurant speciality – as it is made table side. Valet is just $5 with speedy and polite service. Lastly, be sure to grab a bag of pralines on the way out, you won’t regret it!”

Cons

  • Service can be slow when the restaurant is full

It did not disappoint!

“We celebrated my fiancée birthday by doing their tasting menu this weekend. It did not disappoint! The service was impeccable and the food was delicious! I also enjoyed the atmosphere, you felt like you were transported out of the city. I appreciated that they were able to do a vegetarian option for me. Jerry, our server, knew the menu and was kind enough to fix a chia tea that I made a mistake on. Humberto, I believe was the director of food & beverage, walked us through the Mukhas dish. Even Chef Istwal stopped by our table to ask how everything was going. The overall service was next level. I was so stuffed towards the end, the amount of food for the price is appropriate. My overall favorites were the lychee ceviche, achapan, & paneer chandani. The chef did an amazing job balancing the flavors and making the dishes look beautiful. We would go back to go through another food journey.”

– Nathaly Aquino, Google Review

Absolutely blown away

“We came here to celebrate our anniversary and were absolutely blown away by the food. The chef did an amazing job adding Indian flavors to other cuisines while also elevating traditional Indian dishes. My personal favorites were the ceviche, birria taco, lamb kebab, and fish curry. Everything on the menu came together so perfectly. Our waitress, Melisa, was also so knowledgeable and did an excellent job sharing the inspiration behind each dish. We truly had an incredible evening and can’t wait to come back for our next celebration.”

One of the best restaurants in Houston

“The chef and staff put great pride into their work and it shows. Such care and attention to detail are not easily replicated. One of the best restaurants in Houston. Love the new menu.”

Worth every penny

“As soon as you walk in you are greeted with kindness, warmth, and excitement. Staff is extremely attentive and friendly. Drinks were absolutely delicious and beautifully made. The food was just breathtaking and made with lots of love. The live piano, the wall art, low lighting, and classy atmosphere was perfect to celebrate my anniversary with my partner. Definitely on the pricier end but worth every penny.”
